Yesterday, the 29-year-old reality star changed her name on the social-media site from Khloé Kardashian Odom to simply Khloé Kardashian. Though it seems like a small change, it could be a sign that Khloé is ready to end her troubled marriage to Lamar Odom. Khloé and Lamar’s marriage has been in critical condition over the last few weeks. First, several women alleged that they had affairs with Lamar while he was married to Khloé. Then, Lamar was arrested for driving under the influence. Nearly a week after the incident, Lamar, who’s reportedly been struggling with drug addiction, checked into rehab for just one day. Instead of trying to work on his health and relationship with Khloé, he’s opted to stay with friends or at hotels. The 6-foot-10 athlete hasn’t been seen in public in a week. Might sound petty, juvenile, and insignificant, but then again, who REMOVES their husband’s last name from social media profile? 2013 is off to a REALLY rough start for Justin Bieber. Dealing with a weed smoking scandal , and having reportedly been dumped by Selena Gomez , Bieber now faces a lawsuit from a former bodyguard named Moshe Benabou. According to TMZ insiders, Benabou claims Bieber screamed at him and slugged him multiple times in the chest at some point during his employment (March 2011 – October 2012) after the two disagreed on how to handle a member of Bieber’s entourage. Benabou is after unspecified damages for assault and battery, along with at last $420,000 in unpaid overtime. Those inside Justin’s camp, however, tell TMZ that Benebou is a “disgruntled employee looking for money.” They label the notion of the diminutive Bieber punching this ex-Israeli army member as “absurd” and say he was let go because he told a number of lies, including fabricating a tale that he once worked for Justin Timberlake. Still, this kind of headache is simply not what Justin Bieber needs at the moment. If only he had a way to relax and let go of all his worries…

Moments after Kristen Stewart issued an apology for cheating on Robert Pattinson with Rupert Sanders, the director of Snow White and the Huntsman has come out with a statement of his own. “I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family,” Sanders tells People . “My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.” Sanders, 41 is married to a model named Liberty Ross. She actually played the young Snow White’s mother in her husband’s first feature film and she’s the mother to his seven-year old daughter and five-year old son. Ross reacted to Sanders’ infidelity by removing a photo of herself and Stewart from her blog and by sending out a couple of incredulous Tweets before deleting her account.

According to a new report, James Holmes actually alerted a psychologist at the University of Colorado to his plans to commit mass murder… only the recipient never opened the package in question. Fox News says the Colorado shooting suspect mailed a notebook “full of details about how he was going to kill people” to the school’s mail room, which is where police and FBI agent found it this week. “There were drawings of what he was going to do in it – drawings and illustrations of the massacre,” an insider with knowledge told Fox, adding that the photos drawn in a spiral-bound notebook’s pages depict a gun-wielding stick figure opening fire on other stick figures. The package has reportedly been sitting in the mailroom since July 12 and was never delivered to the professor to whom it was addressed. It is now in the hands of the FBI. It’s unclear if the recipient ever had any contact with Holmes, but he or she treats patients at a psychiatry outpatient facility on campus. Holmes was a student at the school’s neuroscience doctoral program until a few weeks ago. In related, far more positive news: Christian Bale visited victims of the tragedy in Aurora yesterday.

After inheriting the reins of the Hunger Games franchise from director Gary Ross, Francis Lawrence is making casting moves as the YA series sequel, Catching Fire , comes into view. According to THR, the first new cast addition may be Philip Seymour Hoffman , who has reportedly been offered a key role that will figure into the next two installments in the franchise: New Head Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee. If you recall, Wes Bentley’s Seneca Crane didn’t fare so well at the end of The Hunger Games, having failed to do his job in allowing Katniss Everdeen to become a symbol for rebellion. His position now vacated, Crane is replaced in Catching Fire by Heavensbee, who has a few surprises of his own to reveal. If you’ve read the books or know what happens in Catching Fire and beyond, the casting of this character in particular is all more intriguing, given what transpires in the plot-heavy next installments. Without spoiling it, I’ll just say this: Seeing someone of Hoffman’s caliber in the role makes Catching Fire (and the trilogy-ender Mockingjay) very promising, indeed. No confirmation yet as to whether or not Hoffman is a go for Plutarch Heavensbee; filming, meanwhile, is set to begin in September. [ THR ]
