Transgender Woman Chrishaun “CeCe” McDonald Gets 42 Months In Male Prison For Stabbing Man To Death “Pent Up Anger”

Transgender Woman Chrishaun “CeCe” McDonald Gets 42 Months In Male Prison For Stabbing Man To Death Chrishaun “CeCe” McDonald admitted Monday that an inner rage brewed long before an exchange of words that ended with the deadly stabbing of Dean Schmitz outside a bar in south Minneapolis last year. The pressures of being transgendered — namely, fear of rejection and of hostile reactions from others — resulted in spite and hatefulness, said McDonald, who is transitioning from a man to a woman. That pent-up fury exploded on the night of June 5, 2011, during an argument when McDonald stabbed the 47-year-old in the heart, killing him instantly. But McDonald, who on Monday was sent to prison for 3 1/2 years, said the responsibility for what happened is mutual. “I’m sure that to Dean’s family, he was a loving, caring person,” McDonald, 24, told Judge Daniel Moreno. “But that is not what I saw that night. I saw a racist, transphobic, narcissistic bigot who did not have any regard for my friends and I.” McDonald will initially be housed as a man at the St. Cloud prison, corrections spokeswoman Sarah Russell said Monday. Then the state will make its own determination of McDonald’s gender, an assessment that will involve reviewing “any and all collateral documentation and a physical and psychological evaluation,” said Russell. In the meantime, the state will house McDonald based on the inmate’s safety and the well-being of others, she said, adding that dealing with gender uncertainty among inmates “is not a unique situation” for the department. As of late January, there were 10 inmates in the state’s corrections system who have been clinically confirmed by the state as having “a gender identity disorder.” Thoughts on this? Should CeCe be in a men’s prison, especially since they say she is “transitioning” from a man to a woman?? Source

Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday Tour Is ‘Intimate But Big’

‘It’s kind of like a glimpse back to what a real rap show is,’ creative director Laurieann Gibson tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Vanessa White Wolf Nicki Minaj Photo: Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images Nicki Minaj is currently taking her Pink Friday Tour around the world before circling back Stateside in July . Given Nicki’s love for all things over-the-top, it’s no surprise that her first-ever headlining gig is all about going big or going home. The rapper’s right-hand lady, creative director and choreographer Laurieann Gibson , told MTV News that when they sat down to plot the trek, “There was a challenge to get through a 70-minute show” after Nicki had spent her last few tours opening for the likes of Lil Wayne and Britney Spears, but what they cooked up is something Gibson said she is “really, really proud of.” “I just put Nicki Minaj on the road, actually, and her tour is super special to me and doing really well,” Gibson told MTV News about working with the rapper again after their eye-popping Grammy performance back in February. “Nicki Minaj was so much fun for me, and it was like a real breath of fresh air, and musically, to get back to the rap game, to see a female MC dominate the pop charts, this, historically, for me, I feel a bit of responsibility,” she added. “When I did ‘The Rain,’ that video for Missy [Elliott], and just with Puff and the evolution of Bad Boy Records and my responsibility there and the pressure to maintain dominant rappers [on major award shows] and not let them lose street credibility, the years of all that torture … and all of those moments. When I got back to Nicki, I was so happy to be in that soulful music again, in that fight, in the idea that rap is not dead and that somebody like her can be many things in many genres and not be limited. “I love [when] I heard Roman Reloaded. I loved her delivery. I love the way she flows,” she added. “So the Pink Friday Tour is really good and it’s kind of like a glimpse back to what a real rap show is. It’s intimate but big at the same time.” Will you check out Nicki on tour? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Nicki Minaj

What The Hell?? New Mexico Residents With Running Red Light Violations Can Lose Utilities At Their Homes [Video]

SMH. Residents of Las Cruces, New Mexico with outstanding red-light-camera traffic tickets are in danger of having their utilities shut off. The program, placing cameras at intersections, is just over three years old, and in that time violators have run up $2 million in unpaid fines. “Over time we were looking at various options, various ways to recoup that money,” Udell Vigil, the communications director for the City of Las Cruces, told ABC News.com. The fines are broken up between the city, the state of New Mexico and the camera company. The city is owed $600 thousand in unpaid tickets. “We can’t go through the courts; it’s not that type of citation,” said Vigil. “We don’t have legal enforcement authority.” When the city explored options, officials came across Section 28-10 of the Las Cruces Municipal Code, which says, “The city may decline, fail or cease to furnish utility service to any person who may be in debt to the city for any reason, except ad valorem taxes and special assessments,” according to the city website. Despite angry residents, many are acknowledging the responsibility of paying the ticket and other residents are calling to double check they do not have any violations, said Vigil. Vigil provided ABC News with an example of the letter being sent to residents: Dear Mr./Ms. Doe: The City of Las Cruces has issued multiple Notice of STOP (Red Light camera) violations to you as the registered owner of the offending vehicle and as identified on the attached listing. Unfortunately, the STOP fines remain unpaid after several months of attempted collection. Accordingly, you are hereby advised that, unless the STOP fines are paid or other satisfactory payment arrangements are made with the City on or before (date) the City will terminate all current City-provided utility service to the residence located at ______________________ pursuant to Las Cruces Municipal Code Section 28-10, a copy of which is attached. Bossip Exclusive: “The Wire” Stars Chad Coleman And Jamie Hector Discuss Their New Film “Life, Love, Soul” In Theatres Today!

Last month we had the opportunity to see an exclusive early screening of the new independent film “Life, Love, Soul” and interview “The Wire” actors Chad Coleman and Jamie Hector who star in the project. Also featuring Tami Roman, Egypt Sherrod and Terri Vaughn “Life, Love, Soul” follows the story of young Roosevelt — forced to live with his estranged father after the tragic death of his mother and little brother. He and his father bump heads at first, but just as they begin to make a breakthrough, Roosevelt is faced with a huge decision of his own. The film hits theaters today but if you need a little more info before copping your tix, check out this interview Bossip did with Coleman and Hector below: Bossip: We’re big fans of “The Wire” so we loved watching you guys in this film. We noticed a lot of themes around African American males role models and providing examples and wanted to see what has inspired you. Chad Coleman: The film is about an African American man, who is estranged from his son. I think the film was able to demonstrate how even though he may have had a broken relationship you can reach out and rebuild bridges where they once were walls, despite the relationship between him and his ex, who unfortunately passed away. I thought it was a great opportunity to show the growth between and father and a son and it’s never too late to for an individual to change, an African American male to change, and accept his responsibility, and demonstrate that this is something he can do, we have so many negative images this is an opportunity to show that we can have those types of relationships. Jamie Hector: Also one of my favorite things in the film is when my character goes to visit Robby’s father, because that shows the audience as well as myself that it takes a community to raise a kid. Chad and I both have organizations, nonprofit organizations… What you see the character doing in the film is very close to what I am doing. We don’t charge people to come, we focus on developing a character while helping them, We support each other in order to serve the community. Bossip: In the film, how did you bridge the gap, what did you see in the script as being able to overcome these situations, the things that you baby mother might have said, that made Roosevelt act the way he was acting? Chad: That was very challenging –the circumstances, the way the things were set up. It breaks down communications in the earlier years with the exes. It’s fundamental, you have to be able to communicate with each other and share the vision where you are going together, if you don’t have that type of communication going on you will have separations. The personal baggage creates a huge difference. I was inspired by the fact I was given a second chance with my son. We couldn’t work it out, but she was still participating which was great. Relationships are very difficult to negotiate, but these things do occur, so what are you going to do? I hope we inspire a lot of people to feel there should be a second chance. If we can inspire a change of heart, to try to come back at it, to come to some kind of common ground, where there is humanity for the child, regardless how much you may have to work. Even if it doesn’t work between me and her, as men we have to do the best we can, have to be willing to take risks. I had to put myself out there, I never gave up on it. Bossip: Would you say your character is abusive? Do you think there was an issue with alcohol for your character? Chad: I don’t think it went to that degree; there was a level of self medication. I thought the film showed an honest way of this man having to come to terms, not through continued alcohol use, but confronting internal pain, finding a place in his loved ones life, that he will be a blessing to his son, through that incredible inner pain, I think its very courageous. Bossip: Do you think enough attention is given to teenage pregnancy and kids staying in school despite these obstacles? As a community what should we do to address this issue? Jamie: One thing that we know is that young folks are going to have sex. We have to educate them and be their support system. For me personally, finishing school is mandatory. I love the way the story expressed that. When you have a child, it’s not just about one person, its about both. They both need to take care of that child. That’s one thing I like about the film — even though the parents got pissed off, Moms she was heated — which I truly understand — afterward you see the support. You know they could have gone to school, gone to work and having to make these decisions, there was no way this could have happened without the support of the father, teacher, the community. When the girl gets pregnant you have to make sure she doesn’t do anything drastic or become depressed. We are human, we have to develop. The film exposes life after a child, you don’t have to put yourself in your own section just because you had a child — you have to educate yourself and those around you. You’re still a kid even though you had a kid. Chad: I would agree, he put everything on the table; there wasn’t a perspective that was not represented, which says within the community there are very distinct voices. Where these kids landed, through all those varying perspectives, there was hope for those children. The key is to not give up, to continue to work on yourself. It’s never over. In reality, there are challenges. Bossip: If you had a daughter and she came to you in that same scenario hw would you react? Jamie: I would do my best as a father. It’s always my job. I have to find that healthy perspective, that is going to inspire to help her grow even dealing with that situation Check out a trailer for the movie below: More On Bossip! Fake Source Claims: O.J. Told Me About Khloe!

O.J. Simpson is almost definitely not the father of Khloe Kardashian. But if you listen to the quotes invented by a source The National Enquirer made up in its controversial new cover story , you may begin to have some doubts. Simply put: “O.J. told me Khloe’s his child,” this anonymous insider tells the tabloid. “It was the big secret that no one in the two families would discuss. And Robert admitted he and Kris were not having sex at the time Khloe was conceived. O.J. bragged about his sex life and many female conquests, which he said included some of his best friends’ wives.” It is true that Kris Jenner was friends with the accused murder, via her husband at the time, but their relationship was never the same after Nicole Brown Simpson was found dead in 1994. It’s unclear why. Adds this totally real source: “He used to tell us way back – even before he and Nicole got divorced – that he had a love child with the wife of a wealthy family. But at the time of Khloe’s birth, it would have been devastating for the news to come out that America’s biggest sports hero had fathered a love child.” It’s true. Thank goodness O.J. has kept his reputation intact since this time. The Juice is currently in jail on an armed robbery conviction and is eligible for parole in 2017. We may need to wait until then for a definitive answer to the question of paternity.

Justin Bieber to Fans: Let Me Urinate!

Justin Bieber is many things: a great singer, a young heartthrob, a charitable individual . But he’s just a man, folks. He can’t hold it forever. The artist was forced to make this admission recently after getting accosted by a fan on the way to the bathroom, leading to a Facebook posting in which he addressed those “mad” at him for not stopping to pose for a photo by saying: “im not a robot. let me piss first.” He then added via Twitter: “gotta just Kill em with Kindness. I know my responsibility. but sometimes i just gotta hurry up and take a piss though. lol” Bieber is clearly not angry at his followers, however, as he gifted them the photo above via Instagram this week. He also Tweeted: “WE ARE A FAMILY…never forget that. This thing we have done..this history we are making together. WE MAKE TOGETHER!” The Biebernator is currently in the studio, laying down tracks for an album that’s expected to be released in 2012. And the quicker he can take a leak, the sooner he can get it done.

‘Avengers’ Trailer Tops 2011 Marvel Movie Moments

First look and Robert Kirkman’s subsequent commentary top our list of the greatest Marvel moments of the year. By Josh Wigler Samuel L. Jackson in “The Avengers” Photo: Marvel / MTV News With “The Avengers” finally assembling in just a few months and other properties like “Spider-Man” and “Ghost Rider” swinging back into theaters as well, it’s looking like a very bright 2012 for the Marvel brand. But don’t discount the power of 2011: From Captain America throwing his mighty shield to Thor striking lightning at the box office, it was an awesome year for the House of Ideas. From new releases and trailers to casting and crew announcements, these are our 10 favorite Marvel movie moments of 2011. 10. “First Class” Trailer Does Not Suck The “First Class” production horror stories were quite troubling to read about during the latest “X-Men” movie’s development, but that very first trailer more than cooled our fears. Matthew Vaughn’s exploration of mutant-kind in the psychedelic ’60s looked way up our alley based on that one trailer — and thankfully, we weren’t disappointed when the movie arrived a few months later. 9. “Wolverine” Director Drama We’re still nursing our wounds over losing director Darren Aronofsky from “The Wolverine,” but we won’t deny that the drama was interesting to observe. Thankfully, the story has a happy ending: Though Aronofsky won’t sink his claws into the Hugh Jackman superhero flick, “3:10 to Yuma” director James Mangold is coming aboard to save the day. We can’t wait to see what the newly minted “Wolverine” director has up his sleeve. 8. David Slade Finds “Daredevil” Likewise, we’re thoroughly psyched about “Eclipse” and “30 Days of Night” filmmaker David Slade heading to Hell’s Kitchen for Fox’s planned “Daredevil” reboot. Even though we don’t know who he has in mind to play the Man Without Fear, Slade’s plans to adapt Frank Miller’s classic “Born” story line are appealing enough all on their own. 7. “Avengers” Gets Conned We weren’t exactly thrilled about the lack of “Avengers” at San Diego Comic-Con this past summer, but the team at Marvel more than made up for that absence by attending the D-23 Expo and New York Comic Con a few months later. Featuring several of the film’s castmembers and presenting never-before-seen footage to an incredibly lucky crowd, both of the year’s major “Avengers” convention appearances proved to be valuable sources of information for fans of the upcoming superhero epic. 6. Spidey-Vision The “Amazing Spider-Man” teaser trailer released in July got our spider-senses tingling, and not necessarily for the right reasons. The trailer-ending POV sequence was a divisive creative decision, and the darker tone the reboot seems to be striving for didn’t sit well with everybody. That said, our curiosity about Andrew Garfield’s take on Peter Parker has never been higher, and it’s all thanks to that trailer’s existence. 5. Ghost Rider Pees Fire ‘Nuff said. 4. “Thor” and “Captain America” Arrive Finally, after years of waiting for the other core members of the Avengers squad to make their big-screen arrivals, we finally got our wish with this summer’s “Thor” and “Captain America: The First Avenger.” Chrises Hemsworth and Evans absolutely nailed it as the Asgardian warrior and super-soldier, respectively, and their return to theaters in next summer’s “Avengers” can’t possibly come soon enough. 3. “X-Men” Is “First Class” If the “First Class” trailer hadn’t already sold us on the Professor X and Magneto origin story, the movie itself sold us twice. “X-Men” was the surprise comic book hit of the year, if not commercially, then at least creatively. Brimming with phenomenal performances from Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Kevin Bacon, packed with outstanding action (Azazel FTW!) and clever connections to the pre-existing “X-Men” movie universe, “First Class” is my personal pick for best comic book movie of 2011. It’s that good. 2. Earth’s Mightiest Trailer Ever since Nick Fury uttered the words “Avengers initiative” at the end of “Iron Man,” we’ve been waiting for this trailer to drop. Finally, it did, and Joss Whedon’s take on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes looks even more awesome than it did in our dreams. May 4 cannot come soon enough. 1. Earth’s Mightiest Trailer Commentary OK, the only thing better than the “Avengers” trailer? “Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman’s “Avengers” trailer commentary. If you haven’t seen it yet, behold the hilarity for yourself in the video above. Check out everything we’ve got on “The Avengers.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com . Blink-182’s ‘After Midnight’ An ‘Homage’ To ‘I Miss You’

Tom DeLonge jokes that his and Mark Hoppus’ lyrics are about ‘me and him kissing and making love to each other.’ By James Montgomery Blink-182 Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Blink-182 ‘s Neighborhoods album was rather famously recorded in fits and starts , so it’s sort of odd to learn the story behind “After Midnight,” the latest single from the disc, because, unlike pretty much everything else, this one was easy. ” ‘After Midnight’ was one of the last songs that we actually wrote for the album, and it originated from a beat that Travis [Barker] made up one day when he was working in the studio,” Mark Hoppus told MTV News on the set of the “Midnight” video in California. “We went in, listened to the beat, [and] it grabbed us immediately. It was one of those moments on the album where everybody just had a bunch of ideas all at once, and it came together pretty quickly. I think like in two or three hours, we had the basics of the song all written out.” “Midnight” is like most older Blink songs in its speedy creation, and its similarities with the band’s back catalog don’t end there: Much like “I Miss You,” a single from Blink’s 2003 self-titled album, the lyrics were handled by both Hoppus and DeLonge. “Tom and I divided the responsibility of writing the lyrics — Tom did the verses and I did the chorus — and we didn’t necessarily know what the other was writing about, but it fit together pretty well,” Hoppus explained. And DeLonge took things one step further by including lyrical nods to “I Miss You” in his verses on “Midnight.” Of course, he explained, that was only mostly intentional. And it’s not that he’s running out of ideas, he said. “Well, maybe a little bit, but not totally,” DeLonge said. “I threw in a little homage to ‘I Miss You,’ because, specifically on this song, I remember Travis saying that we should have something in the category of ‘I Miss You’ [on this album], and that’s when he showed us the beat. So when we wrote that, I remember that was in my mind.” Then again, DeLonge said he had ulterior motives for co-writing the song with Hoppus — ones that bordered (of course) on the sexual. “What’s cool about this song and ‘I Miss You,’ when Mark and I both write lyrics in different places, they come together and they’re both about the same thing, usually me and him kissing and making love to each other,” he laughed. “We end up writing super romantic songs. And I think it worked out really good on this one.” What do you think of “After Midnight”? Share your thoughts in the comments! Related Videos Set Visit With Blink-182 Related Artists blink-182

John Edwards Trial Scheduled For January

A judge has set the trial of former presidential candidate John Edwards to begin January 30, a week earlier than when prosecutors and defense lawyers sought. In federal court, U.S. District Judge Catherine Eagles signed an order Tuesday setting the schedule for Edwards’ trial on charges of campaign finance violations. Edwards was indicted following an exhaustive investigation in June. John Edwards is accused of asking two wealthy campaign donors to provide nearly $1 million in secret payments used to hide pregnant mistress Rielle Hunter . Making matters even worse is the fact that he was a serious candidate for the Democratic Party’s nomination for the White House in 2007 and early 2008. His wife, the late Elizabeth Edwards, was also battling cancer at the time. Edwards says he knew nothing of the checks, cash and private jets used to fly Rielle Hunter across the country and put her up in luxury homes and hotels. We are not the judge or jury in the case, and every American has the constitutional right to a fair trial and the presumption of innocence … but come ON.
