Prometheus Spoilers: The Latest TV Spot Has Them, And How

Technically the plot of Prometheus is still fairly unknown from the trailers and clips Fox has unleashed, at least insofar as what it is that befalls the intrepid space crew that ventures into unknown horrors in Ridley Scott’s June sci-fi action thriller. But the latest TV spot seems to reveal an awful lot of said horrors — flashes of frights and things and scenes that seem to give good reason for that R rating — so watch at your own risk, because these 30 seconds are at once both awesome and a tad too revealing. Spoilers ahead! Behold, the squirmy delights ahead of us all in the June 8 release. All those times Ridley Scott waved away Alien connections as relatively loose associations seem moot after seeing space snakes crawl up into someone’s head and glimpsing whatever it is that’s going on in Noomi Rapace ‘s belly. “Get it out of me!” is the new “Cut it out!” of Prometheus promo catchphrases. And can we just talk about that hulking space man for a second? I have no idea what is actually going on here, but I’m getting flashes of Sunshine , if you know what I mean. Taking all speculations in the comments below. [via i09 ]

Prometheus International Trailer: This is How You Sell a Movie

On the one hand, the difference between the domestic and international trailers for Prometheus is staggering: The former sells atmosphere and legacy while the latter sells both of those and story (and Charlize Theron, I guess). On the other hand, they have the most important component in common: They sell the hell out of Ridley Scott’s Alien throwback. Can anyone wait? Me neither. This is how you do it, Hollywood. [ ENTV ]

Tre Madden Continues to impress at running back. After just two days his teammates have nicknamed him “Baby Stafon” after Stafon Johnson. Probably because he wears number 13 and he falls forward after being tackled. It is very early in this experiment but the coaches are already talking about using Madden in a wildcat package. Coach Kiffin said about Madden, “(He was) really good again. He’s obviously… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : TrojanWire Discovery Date : 23/03/2012 02:42 Number of articles : 2

New One-Minute Prometheus IMAX Trailer Lands, Is Spectacular, ZOMG

A new minute-or-so-long trailer for Prometheus has landed, and while it’s unclear how much of this footage will be included in Saturday’s planned 2:33 minute trailer debut (which will follow 20th Century Fox’s WonderCon presentation), Ridley Scott ‘s June 8 sci-fi pic just keeps the hits coming. Sparse on dialogue, big on images, the trailer teases Prometheus ‘s IMAX release and impresses on the startling strength of its visuals alone. It’s as tantalizing as that first, even more mysterious trailer in that it offers snatches of scenes, character shots, and action without telling us much of anything in the way of plot. What is nice is that heroine Noomi Rapace is front and center this time, with less of a focus on Charlize Theron , and we also get a bit more of Logan Marshall-Green, a/k/a the American Tom Hardy. But it’s still relatively spoiler free, and hopefully Fox’s campaign will follow suit and leave enough of the film to be discovered in the theater. Check back tomorrow for more on Prometheus as Movieline reports from WonderCon, and follow us on Twitter for up-to-the-minute updates. [ Prometheus-Movie via The Film Stage ]

Nicki Minaj Dons Pink Bikini For ‘Starships’ Video

Photos from the Hawaii set leaked online Wednesday, revealing Nicki with greenish-blue hair. By Rob Markman Nicki Minaj Photo: MTV News Green hair? Check. Pink bikini? Check. Exotic shoot location? Check. Must be time for another Nicki Minaj video. On Wednesday morning, pictures from the set of Nicki’s “Starships” video leaked online with the Young Money rap queen decked out in a pink bikini, pink heels and greenish-blue hair. Yesterday Nicki arrived in Hawaii and shared the experience with her fans via Twitter. “The kids @ the airport were like: waikikiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!! I bust out laughin,” she wrote . The multi-faceted MC engaged her followers and of course let off an obligatory Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded tweet, once again reminding fans of her sophomore album’s April 3 release date, though we’re sure a good portion of her 10 million plus followers already have the date marked on their calendars. The three photos that made their way onto the Internet only show Nicki, some production hands and a few female models, but it’s the male eye candy that has the female Weezy the most excited. “Can’t wait 2get on set,” she wrote . “Dem male modelz iz poppinton #starshipsvideo.” The top 5 Hottest MC finalist dropped her RedOne-produced single on Valentine’s Day, and while the pop track doesn’t show off much of Nicki’s lyrical prowess, it has clearly resonated with music fans — it is currently sitting at #36 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. During an interview after her 2012 NBA All-Star Game performance in February, Nicki told MTV News that though she began as a rap artist, she is completely comfortable with her hold on popular music these days. “I guess I am pop culture just because what I’m doing seems to be popular. When people want to do what you’re doing, it’s kinda popular,” she said. “I don’t ask girls to wear pink hair; they just do it. It’s not about black or white; I think it’s just a statement. It doesn’t matter which color you are; it’s just a statement of being fearless.” She also predicted big things for Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. “April 3 is gonna be a doozy. It’s gonna be crazy,” Nicki said of her album release date. “It’s gonna be important for just hip-hop culture and pop culture. It’s gonna be very big.” Are you excited for Nicki’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded ? Leave your comment below! Related Artists Nicki Minaj

Charlize Theron Adopts Baby Boy

Actress’ rep confirms to People magazine that she is a ‘proud mom.’ By Jocelyn Vena Charlize Theron Photo: Getty Images Charlize Theron is a new mom. No, you didn’t miss the baby bump. The Oscar-winner just adopted a boy, her rep confirmed to People. “She is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson,” the rep told the magazine in a statement. No additional details about Jackson were available at press time. While baby Jackson is Theron’s first child, it seems that the star has been thinking about motherhood for some time. In a 2010 interview, she opened up about wanting to tackle an important role: mom. “I feel very blessed to have had a certain amount of success and now I’m reaching the point where I would love to be a mom,” Theron said at the time. “I know I want to raise a big family and it’s just a question of time — I know I’m ready for that phase of my life.” Theron and her longtime boyfriend, Stuart Townsend, split in early 2010 after nearly a decade together. In 2011, she talked to Vogue about the new chapter in her life. “I’ve never been single. This is the first time in my life,” the actress said. “From the time I was 19, I’ve been in relationships, literally gone from one to the other within a month,” she added. Theron will be busy at home and at work this year. First up, she’s set to play the Evil Queen Ravenna in “Snow White and the Huntsman” opposite Kristen Stewart . Then she’s set to star in the long-awaited Ridley Scott thriller “Prometheus.” Share your congratulations with Charlize on our Facebook page!

Prometheus Faux 2023 TED Talk Hints at Ties to Alien Saga

Ridley Scott may or may not be spilling details on how Prometheus factors into the Alien franchise, but a new clip from the film sheds a few shards of light on the connection, and cleverly so: Watch Guy Pearce as Peter Weyland (CEO of Weyland Corporation, to become the future Weyland-Yutani Corp.) give a riveting TED Talk, circa 2023, promising a bright new future to the tech set. In the clip (directed by Luke Scott) Weyland touches on the Greek mythology of the fire-stealer Prometheus and the sacrifices humanity must suffer in the name of progress, hooking into Alien lore with mentions of a looming developments in lifelike “cybernetic individuals.” “We are the gods now,” he boasts, stirring the crowd. “I will settle for nothing short of greatness, or I will die trying.” Something tells me the latter might just happen (at least to Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, or Noomi Rapace) once the spaceship explosions and still-ambiguous scares start raining down on the intrepid crew of the Prometheus. On the TED Blog , Weyland’s TED Talk is described thusly: Peter Weyland has been a magnet for controversy since he announced his intent to build the first convincingly humanoid robotic system by the end of the decade. Whether challenging the ethical boundaries of medicine with nanotechnology or going toe to toe with the Vatican itself on the issue of gene-therapy sterilization, Sir Peter prides himself on his motto, “If we can, we must.” After a three year media blackout, Weyland has finally emerged to reveal where he’s heading next. Wherever that may be, we will most certainly want to follow. “Sir Peter’s” bio, meanwhile, reveals his pedigree: Sir Peter Weyland was born in Mumbai, India at the turn of the Millennium. The progeny of two brilliant parents; His mother, an Oxford Educated Professor of Comparative Mythology, his father, a self-taught software Engineer, it was clear from an early age that Sir Peter’s capabilities would only be eclipsed by his ambition to realize them. By the age of fourteen, he had already registered a dozen patents in a wide range of fields from biotech to robotics, but it would be his dynamic break-throughs in generating synthetic atmosphere above the polar ice cap that gained him worldwide recognition and spawned an empire. In less than a decade, Weyland Corporation became a worldwide leader in emerging technologies and launched the first privatized industrial mission to leave the planet Earth. “There are other worlds than this one,” Sir Peter boldly declared, “And if there is no air to breathe, we will simply have to make it.” All of the above would seem to support rumors filtered out of Hungarian press this week citing Scott as explaining Weyland’s role as connective tissue between Prometheus and the Alien films; the reports suggests that ruthless, progress-hungry capitalist Weyland is the person responsible for sending the Prometheus crew out to investigate the origin of mankind in the first place. Prometheus hits theaters on June 8. [ TED Blog ]
