The police chief in Galveston, Texas is apologizing after two of his officers, who were mounted on horseback, led a handcuffed suspect by a rope through the downtown streets. Photos of the Saturday incident went viral on social media over the weekend, causing outrage among everyone who saw it. The two officers linked the rope to handcuffs worn by 43-year-old criminal trespass suspect Donald Neely and led him around the block to a mounted patrol staging area. What you did here to this man, Donald Neely, is horrible and unacceptable. I would say “We need answers,” but nothing you can say would ever justify what you did to this man. Nothing at all. pic.twitter.com/OdVeqrFDcv — Shaun King (@shaunking) August 6, 2019 In a statement on Monday, following the public outcry for these officers to be fired, Police Chief Vernon Hale said “this is a trained technique and best practice in some scenarios,” such as with crowd control. However, he said he believes his officers “showed poor judgment in this instance and could have waited for a transport unit at the location of arrest.” He also added that his department has “immediately changed the policy” to prevent use of the technique. The statement concluded with, “We understand the negative perception of this action and believe it is most appropriate to cease the use of this technique. The Police Chief has taken immediate action to suspend this technique of transportation during arrests.” Sign Up For Our Newsletter! Close Thank you for subscribing! Source: Portland Press Herald / Getty It’s nothing like a home remedy to fix a funky situation or in this case, to light someone up who’s trespassing on your property. According to USA Today , this is exactly what happened when an Alabama man broke into a woman’s house. Cops say they responded to a domestic dispute call on Thursday and found Larondrick Macklin, 31, with burns on his face. He reportedly broke into the woman’s house armed with a gun and she defended herself by throwing a pot of hot grease on him. A detective with the Decatur Police Department said he learned that Macklin was the “primary aggressor in the altercation.” He was taken to the hospital after the hot grease was thrown in his face. BURGLARY ARREST: On 8/2, the DPD arrested Larondrick Macklin as a suspect in a domestic dispute. Back on July 5, as you very likely know by now, Amber Portwood was arrested on three charges of felony domestic violence. Prior to this date and this alleged incident, however, it appears the teen Mom OG star may have known that something explosive was on the way. Something explosive via her own hand, that is. In a sneak peek clip for next Monday night’s brand new episode of Teen Mom OG, Amber breaks down in tears during her therapy session. And thens he even says the following, presumably of herself and/or her mental status: It’s like a ticking time bomb. It’s unclear exactly when this admission was filmed, likely several weeks prior to Amber’s arrest. As seen in previous installments of the MTV franchise, Portwood recently started welcoming the network cameras inside her therapy sessions. In one episode, she was nearly in tears while admitting to her therapist that she wishes there was a cure for her mental illness so she can walk outside and be “happy.” Portwood also acknowledged a few weeks ago on air that she is “f-ckin nuts .” The polarizing mother of two, who has never been quiet when it comes to this important topic, has said she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when she was 17 or 18 years old. “I got like four different opinions and it was all the same,” she told Chyenne Floyd on a July episode of the show, adding at the time: “And then I had borderline personality disorder, BPD. That stems more from your childhood and things that you went through.” She added in this same discussion: “Obviously since the day we started this show, I’ve been f-cking nuts, so I mean, come on.” Amber has acknowledged in the past that she suffered from postpartum depression after giving birth to her son last summer. She even thought about killing herself at the time. Fast forward almost a year exactly and Portwood is accused of throwing a shoe at her boyfriend after the two got into an argument because the family got stuck in traffic and missed a July Fourth fireworks show. Glennon told police that he hid in the couple’s bathroom after this, only for Portwood to use a machete and try to break the door down. Amber has reportedly admitted to the show throw, but denied the use a machete. In the month or so since this arrest, Portwood has been ordered to stay away from Glennon. She is permitted to see her son, but only under the supervision of a court-approved individual. The veteran reality star has also seemingly accused Glennon of cheating and, as you can read about below, of being a drunk driver. Portwood is next due in court on August 22 and, as always, The Hollywood Gossip will keep you well-apprised of the latest happenings and news in regard to this unfortunate scandal. Source: Tony Rivetti / Getty Actress Afton Williamson , who played the role of Talia Bishop on ABC’s The Rookie , has quit the show amid claims of sexual harassment and assault along with racial discrimination. In an Instagram post, Williamson announced her departure while naming those who carried out the alleged acts. “I will not be returning for Season 2 of The Rookie,” Williamson wrote in the caption for the post. “I owe it to you my amazing fans to share the Truth. Throughout the filming of the pilot, I experienced Racial Discrimination/Racially Charged inappropriate comments from the hair department and bullying from Executive Producers.” She added, “During the Season, it continued along with Sexual Harassment from a recurring guest star, Demetrius Grosse, and the racist commentary & bullying from the Hair Dept. Head, Sally Ciganovich escalated into Sexual Assault at our Wrap party. The Sexual Harassment though reported directly to the Showrunner/EP remained undocumented and was not reported to HR as promised. Ciganovich was fired ONLY after the sexual assault and NOT for an entire year of outward racism/racially charged language and bullying behavior in and out of the Hair and Makeup trailer. HR protocol was never adhered to following the above reports given by me to my Showrunner/EP and an investigation was never issued for any of my claims.” In the following post, Williamson thanked her fans and supporters after making her announcement. “I am so beyond overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, kind words, scriptures, strength filled quotes and devout support that has come my way. One Instagram post is just like those 2 fish and 5 loaves of Bread,” Willamson wrote. “The rippling effect it has had in just a few hours shows how much this world is aching with victims of racism, discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual abuse all of it. I am no stranger to all of the above even before this experience. But it is through this experience and my platform that God pushed me to use the power within me.” View the posts below. The only time I was asked to participate in an investigation was after a meeting I called in June following our Season 2 announcement. This meeting included the Showrunner and two other producers as well as my agent and SAG-AFTRA Union Rep. It was clear to all present in the meeting that the Showrunner had not shared my reports with the any of the producers. After my initial report of sexual harassment, I was assured that Grosse would be fired. I was also asked to film with him the very next day as a courtesy to the script, even though we had not begun filming the episode yet. Grosse reappeared on our call sheet at the end of the season, I was even written in scenes with him. I asked the Showrunner about this and he admitted to me that the Grosse had not been fired nor had he gotten HR involved. I was asked to return this season, and promised that “everything was handled.” The investigation hadn’t even begun and Season 2 had already started filming. I turned it down and I walked. The show will focus on Mamie Till, whose son — Emmett Till — was lynched by a white mob in Mississippi for allegedly winking at a white woman in 1955. Following his death, Till-Mobley went on to join a forces with major players in the fight for civil rights justice following her son’s death. She dedicated the rest of her life to the civil justice and reform until her own passing in 2003. Jay-Z originally teamed up with HBO to work on a miniseries surround Emmet Till, where Taraji P. Henson was set to play his mother, but when director John Middleton died in April, the project was believed to be dissolved. It is not confirmed, but speculated that Women of the Movement is a the product of the work already done into the aforementioned miniseries surround Till. When proposed with the possibility of grabbing the rights to this, ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke instantly loved the idea as the series would turn attention to the women who were responsible for so many key events associated with the civil rights movement. This move aligns perfectly with Burke’s proposition to get more women in programming at the station.

Source: Emma McIntyre / Getty Chance the Rapper’s “debut” album The Big Day isn’t getting the rave reviews the rapper thought it would. He took to Twitter to respond to the criticism and had some very eye-opening responses. The album which boasts appearances from Ari Lennox , Gucci Mane, CocoRosie and more is just isn’t impressing fans. Chance’s response to the negative takes on his album was quite interesting. The Acid Rap crafter claimed he believes some of his supporters want him to kill himself. I’m getting this crazy feeling that people want me to kill myself — The Big Day out now (@chancetherapper) August 5, 2019 He quickly reassured fans he has no intentions of inflicting self-harm on himself, stating in another Tweet: “That’s not my vibe at all, but I feel the push.” That’s not my vibe at all, but i feel the push. — The Big Day out now (@chancetherapper) August 5, 2019 The moment of self-reflection continued with Chance using his Twitter account to “let some of these feelings go” in a thread of Tweets. He touched on how feels people want him to be ashamed before showing appreciation to those who reached out to him over the past few days. He also expressed his happiness for being able to spend time with his family and doing things he used to before getting consumed in the album-making process. And I feel like even more than that, some people want me to feel ashamed. — The Big Day out now (@chancetherapper) August 5, 2019 Shame is heavy yo. And feeling shame for something that you were once prideful about is super heavy. — The Big Day out now (@chancetherapper) August 5, 2019 He closed out the conversation with a joke pointing out that 100% thing he is sure of is that he loves his wife. The clever swipe is a jab at criticism from fans who claim that all he rapped about on the album. That I LOVE my wife — The Big Day out now (@chancetherapper) August 5, 2019 Its clear Chance is sensitive about his work, and the negative reviews hit him a bit hard.
