The “Old Town Road” star says backlash has increased sine his big reveal and in a new BBC interview the Atlanta native seems at peace with his decision. BBC News reports : US rapper Lil Nas X has revealed he has experienced a backlash on social media since posting cryptic hints on Twitter that he is gay. “I’m not angry… because I understand how they want that reaction,” said the 20-year-old performer. “So I’m just going to joke back with them.” Lil Nas X – real name Montero Lamar Hill – told BBC Breakfast he felt like he was “opening doors for more people”. “I don’t want to live my entire life… not doing what I want to do,” he added. He said he hoped his fans would “feel comfortable” but admitted homosexuality was “not really accepted in either the country [or] hip-hop communities”. According to The New York Times , Alitalia airlines released an advertisement on social media this week that featured an actor donning blackface in order to play President Barack Obama. The ad was one of four Italian-language clips used to promote the airline’s recently announced nonstop flight from Rome to Washington. Other videos have actors portraying Trump, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln with the hashtag #WhereIsWashington. The video quickly drew angry comments on Facebook and YouTube, mostly written in Italian. Comments on Facebook called the clip “outrageous” and many folks pointed out that blackface was “universally considered a racist practice.” A representative for the airline initially defended the ad, saying that the actor portraying Obama wasn’t White and that “makeup was applied to highlight features.” Eventually, the company came to their senses and issued an apology on Wednesday. They said they would remove the ad from all it’s social media platforms. “Alitalia deeply apologizes for the offense caused by the promotional video on our Washington route,” they tweeted out. “It has since been removed. We’ve reported on the #JusticeForLucca movement since its inception back in April when a viral video of Broward County, Florida cops attacking the 15-year-old circulated the internet. Today, we get the news that we don’t often get when it comes to cops abusing their authority, criminal charges. According to ABCNews , the three officers involved in the brutality, Gregory LaCerra, 51, and Christopher Krickovich, 29, and 49-year-old Ralph Mackey were all charged. LaCerra and Krickovich were indicted for the physical assault as well as falsifying records in the cover-up. Mackey was charged separately with falsifying records and conspiracy. All three men have been suspended WITHOUT pay. Civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump is representing Lucca’s family and had this response to the happy news: “Wearing a badge is not a license to hurt children and then lie about it — with these charges, the world can now see clearly that is what happened,” the attorneys told WPLG in statement after the charges were announced. “The fact that the officers were charged with falsifying records and conspiracy to falsify records is rare, and it may represent a new trend in accountability for law enforcement officials.” Now let’s just see if the charges stick before we get too excited…

It’s a brand new day under the sea for the Grammy-nominated singer who will be making her feature film debut alongside Melissa McCarthy in the film, directed by Rob Marshall. “After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance–plus a glorious singing voice–all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role,” Marshall said in a statement. Bailey along with her sister Chloe was discovered by Beyoncé after the duo became popular singing covers and original songs on YouTube. The two are signed to the Houston legend’s Parkwood Entertainment label and both sisters star in the black-ish spinoff, grown-ish which airs on Freeform. The 1989 original Little Mermaid is considered one of the all-time classic Disney films and follows a mermaid princess who dreams of becoming human after she falls in love with a human prince she met on land.
