Loni Love: Sisters, You Don’t Have To Settle For ‘Struggle’ Love

Source: Nagina Lane / iONEDigital You don’t have to settle for “struggle” love, says Loni Love . The Real host is gearing up to host at the 2019 Essence Festival while balancing a healthy relationship while giving advice to women out there who might be suffering in a toxic relationship. Loni is the first woman ever, in 25 years to host the main stage, following in the footsteps of fellow comedians Steve Harvey, Nephew Tommy and Roy Woods Jr. to name a few. “They all reached out to me and said congratulations. They know I’m going to kill it,” she said. If you’ve never been to Essence Festival, you might be asking yourself what does a host do? “The host is very important because we thank all the sponsors. We make sure that the show moves along. If there are dead spots, we tell jokes,” she explained. Loni’s life is a balancing act. The Emmy award-winning comedienne found interracial love with new beau James Welsh, who she said won her over with his “good morning” texts. View this post on Instagram @thebestofenemies #datenight A post shared by Loni Love (@comiclonilove) on Apr 6, 2019 at 7:29pm PDT “He’s just a nice guy and you know what, I get up at 4 o’ clock in the morning and I guess he would set his alarm to so he could always text me ‘Good morning.’ The other guy I was dating, he wouldn’t text me till like eight o’clock.” When commenting on what prompted her to look outside her race, Loni revealed, “I don’t Think that anybody should intentionally go outside of their race. It just happened for me.” She added, “I’m older and I’ve been dating a long time. I’ve been dating black men for 47 years, so nothing’s wrong with that. But this just happened. I’ve never looked at his color. I looked at the point of his compatibility with me and you know, he likes me, I like him, we commute, boom.” “It really wasn’t about the color. I was just looking for a partner is somebody that I could work with and he just turns out to be white.” Loni called the actor an “ally” to the cause. “James talks a lot about what’s happening politically, socially. He brings a lot of things to me and it’s also nice to hear a different point of view. I would never date somebody that I couldn’t relate to. He has empathy for me and, and the things that I go through.” Touching on White privilege, she mentioned, “I also have learned a lot about him. I think a lot of people, when they look at White, they think, ‘They have privilege.’ But he struggled coming up just like I did. He didn’t have a lot of money and he had family issues and things like that. So we kind of relate to that as well.” Loni’s decision to widen the dating pool ties back to the notion that Black women don’t have to accept toxicity. “I’m telling sisters, you don’t have to struggle if it’s hard. Sometimes you just need to get out of it. Especially when you’re working, you’re busy raising kids, you’re working. You want to be able to just pick up the phone, call your partner. I’d pick up the phone. Call James Right now. He’d pick up.” Catch Loni at Essence Festival 2019 when it hits the convention center in New Orleans in July. Sounds About White! Student Downplays Black Classmate At Barnard College Being Racially Profiled

See the original post:

E arlier in the month, a video went viral of Alexander McNab being harassed by six campus cops at Barnard College , an all-women’s school affiliated with Columbia University in New York City. But while the video caused outrage from staff and faculty, one student went out of her way to claim that McNab appearing to be racially profiled had nothing to do with his brown skin. SEE ALSO: Students Suspended For Brawl While Cop In Video Who Assaulted One Of Them Goes Unpunished The student, who described herself as a “(very) light-skinned Jewish woman” named Morgan Raum, defended campus security in a piece she recently authored for the Columbia Beacon, an alternative campus publication. “I would much prefer Barnard Public Safety officers prioritize safety rather than political correctness,” Raum wrote . “The fact of the matter is an adult male entered a closed women’s college campus after 11 p.m. and repeatedly refused to show his identification to Public Safety officers, despite admitting that he knew about the rule. To be honest, I’m upset he was allowed to get as far as Milstein before the officers took action.” Raum went on to say McNab was stopped simply because of his gender, an excuse that rings hollow since there are always male students from Columbia on Barnard’s campus. “For context: Columbia students have access to Barnard libraries. After 11 p.m., students are supposed to show their IDs to public safety before entering campus. But this rule is loosely enforced and hardly followed. I have always just nodded to the officer. Nothing like this,” Andrew Wang , who identified himself as a Columbia student, wrote in his tweet below that includes a video of the incident. This happened yesterday at Barnard College. A black Columbia University student was entering the library when he was racially profiled by public safety officers. They took his ID. They pinned him down. : Caroline Cutlip pic.twitter.com/7CeUDQSuIH — Andrew Wang (@andrwwang) April 12, 2019 “I can’t help but feel that while Alexander McNab may have been ‘profiled,’ in all likelihood it was due to his being a male student on a women’s college campus after 11PM who repeatedly refused to show his identification,” she wrote. In case you missed it, McNab refused to show his ID to security officers who the same demands for identification from students of color. Officers eventually physically assaulted McNab inside a campus building even after he handed them his identification, another fact the “very light-skinned” Raum failed to acknowledge. “I didn’t violate anybody. Get your hands off of me,” McNab says to the security officers. After looking at McNab’s ID card, one of the officers responded, “Let’s walk outside.” McNab said he feared going outside with the officers and wanted to stay inside the building where there were witnesses. Instead of examining his ID and allowing him to go, the officers confiscated McNab’s card, saying they needed to verify that he was an “active” Columbia student. As of Tuesday morning, the security officers were reportedly still on leave and Barnard was hiring an independent investigator. Jeannie Park is a Naked Asian Doing that White Girl Instagram Hustle with her Nipple Ring of the Day

Not to be racist, but I am sure this is the whitening of the Asian girl….Jeannie Park, Asian Girl, is clearly trying to upset her DRAGON mother who put her in Violin, Chinese Lessons, Advanced Math and Badminton….pushing her so hard in her suburban white community…that she’s lost her to the INSTAGRAM hustle. I don’t know what this is for, BUT I do find it creepy to see the close up GOOSEBUMP pic….what the fuck is that about?! But back to the Asian thing….an Asian doing the instagram model thing…meaning it’s not just for white people, is an important message to all of us…that race is a non-issue, unless celebrating your culture amongst yourself, but as a general rule being American is being American…and all girls, of all walks of life, can get out there and whore themselves out…. It’s a revelation people…this must be what MAGA is all about. #NigelShelby 15-Year-Old Alabama Teen Dies By Suicide Over Anti-LGBT Bullying

Source: Hal Bergmann Photography / Getty Nigel Shelby Commits Suicide Over Bullying Another teen has unfortunately taken their own life over bullying. 15-year-old Nigel Shelby of Huntsville Alabama’s Huntsville High School died by suicide April 18 after he was reportedly bullied for being gay. The news was first spread on Facebook by Rocket City Pride, a local LGBTQ+ Pride group. “We are heartbroken over the death of Nigel Shelby, a 15-year-old freshman at Huntsville High School,” said Rocket City Pride in a statement. “Nigel took his life because he was bullied for being gay. There are no words that can be said to make sense of this devastating news.” Rockey City Pride’s GoFundMe for Nigel’s mother had a goal of $10,000. As of now, the donations are over $15,000. Huntsville City Schools Superintendent Christie Finley also addressed Nigel’s suicide at a school board meeting and implored people to be kind and use the “Golden Rule” when dealing with each other . “I want to take a brief moment to speak about the recent loss of a Huntsville high school student, Nigel Shelby,” she said. “I spent most of the weekend really processing this loss and I’m sure many of you have as well. And we will for a while to come. It’s clear to me that the simple word of the golden rule has really become more difficult for many to understand and to practice and it is time as a society to value, respect and uplift one another.” Nigel’s suicide comes after 9-year-old McKenzie Adams of Alabama killed herself after racist bulliyng and after 10-year-old Seven Bridges committed suicide because he was bullied over his colostomy bag. We are praying for the families of these children who cut their own lives far too short.

Source: Kris Connor / Getty Exes Jasmine Sanders And Terrence J Back On Better Terms It looks like model Jasmine Sanders still has a huge soft spot for her ex-boyfriend Terrence J after their public breakup last year . Their breakup was prompted by Terrence J being involved in a hit-and-run investigation while he was driving with a lady friend in the wee hours of the night around Hollyweird. Seemingly, the couple broke up right after headlines spread around the accident and fans questioned Terrence’s mysterious lady passenger. Jasmine is sweeping the incident under the bridge, for now. She’s been seen chucking in Terrence J’s comments on Instagram leading folks to believe they’re on better terms. Yesterday she even sent Terrence a birthday shout out on Instagram. Smh. pic.twitter.com/LToQphrbfd — A Girl Has No Team (@FancyFour) April 23, 2019 But don’t get too ahead of this story, they’re not reunited just yet. Jasmine used an old photo to shout her ex out on IG. Currently, she’s rocking a different hairstyle and spent the week with friends at Coachella. Hit the flip to see.

Osundairo Brothers’ Lawsuit: Jussie Smollett Faked Attack For Clout

Source: Allen Berezovsky / Getty The Jussie Smollett saga continues as new lawsuit emerges. The Osundairo brothers are behind this latest litigation. They’re suing two of Smollett’s defense attorneys, Mark Geragos and Tina Glandian, for defamation and false light. Join Our Text Club To Get The Latest Music, Entertainment, Contests And Breaking News On Your Phone. Text BALTIMORE to 24042 to join! They were initially arrested as suspects in the alleged attack, only to be released later. According to court documents obtained by the Chicago Sun Times, the brothers say Smollett paid them to stage the attack and directed every aspect of the scheme. “Mr. Smollett used his clout as a wealthy actor to influence Plaintiffs, who were in a subordinate relationship to him and were aspiring to ‘make it’ in Hollywood,” the lawsuit said. “Mr. Smollett’s motivation was simple. He wanted his employer and the public to notice and appreciate him as a successful black, openly gay actor. So, Mr. Smollett directed every aspect of the attack, including the location and the noose.” Cook County state’s attorney’s office dropped all criminal charges against Smollett last month after he paid $10,000 and performed community service. After those charges were dropped, the Osundairo brothers claim both lawyers continued to blame them for the attack in multiple media appearances. Glandian is accused of going as far as suggesting Smollett and Bola Osundairo had a sexual relationship during an interview on a podcast. That claim allegedly caused Bola severe distress as he is heterosexual, in a relationship and often visits family in Nigeria. Same-sex activity is illegal in Nigeria and can result in 14 years in prison or death. This federal lawsuit comes on the heels of another lawsuit from the City of Chicago demanding Smollett pay them back for money spent on the investigation. Smollett has continued to maintain his innocence. [ione_media_gallery src=”https://92q.com” id=”4072131″ overlay=”true”]
