Donald Glover Details How We Can Love Someone Different And Still Be Woke With the insane success of Childish Gambino’s latest music video, “This Is America,” people have turned to the fact that Glover has a white significant other in a effort to discredit his messages. Since the music video dropped last week, the question among the people has been whether or not someone can be completely conscious to their own people while loving someone of a different race, and now we know what Donald Glover has to say about the matter. While on a press junket for Star Wars , journalist Xilla Valentine asked the actor if you can still be woke despite the person you love being different from you. Though the question directly relates to the relationship between Lando and L3-37 in the film, the intentional relation to Gambino’s own life wasn’t lost on him. Glover seemed intrigued by the question, and goes on to answer it very eloquently. “That’s what love I think really is at the end of the day,” he begins. “It’s not even like a selflessness, it’s like an understanding that I’m making a safe place for you. It’s not safe out there. Somebody’s out to get you—that’s just nature. That’s just the nature of being, and I feel like yeah you can totally love somebody and still look out for yourself. But I think the question really is, do you see that thing or that someone else as a part of you? If you see us, we’re a people together, we’re a tribe together—we depend on each other. Then you always are gonna want the best for them I think.”

Caitlyn Jenner has not been in the news very much of late. But in a new and very revealing interview, the former reality star explains that she once considered never being in the news ever again. That is, she once considered taking her own life. Speaking to Channel 4 News this week, the ex- Keeping Up with the Kardashians star opened up like never before about something as personal as it gets. “One time in my life, I actually thought about it [suicide],” she confessed. The 68-year-old said she wanted to discuss her struggle in the hopes of raising awareness about the high suicide rates among transgender people. And then went on to detail exactly when and why this awful thought crossed her mind. “I’ll never forget it. It was about six months before I came out, and I had a picture.” A picture? Huh? The picture was snapped by TMZ and it depicted Jenner walking out of a building in Beverly Hills. Having just had her tracheal shaved , there was a small bandage on her throat. Jenner explained how that evening, she received a call from the publication claiming that they had the picture and basically stating/asking: “So, this is the beginning of transition…?” Addressing the website’s owner, Harvey Levin, Jenner replied in anger at the time, pleading with the celebrity gossip guru: “Don’t even talk about this. It’s none of your business and please, when you do stuff like that, it affects people’s lives.” The photo did end up getting published and going viral. Aware that would be the case, Caitlyn says she lay in bed and contemplated the worst. “That night, I knew that that picture was coming out,” she says in this new interview, adding: “I remember I couldn’t sleep. And I’m walking up and down the halls in my house, all by myself. And I’m thinking to myself, ‘You know what? I’ve got a gun in the other room. I could go in, use it, no more pain, move on.” How awful. We simply cannot imagine. “It seemed like the easy way out,” she says now, upon reflection. These days, Jenner seemed to be in a great place. She’s remaining a bit out of the spotlight and may even marry rumored girlfriend Sophia Hutchins . Has she thought about suicide since this date? No. “The next day I get up and I went for a walk and I’m walking through this field all by my little lonesome out in the woods,” she tells Channel 4 about her mindset back then and how it changed. “And I’m walking through this field and I’m thinking to myself, ‘Wasn’t that like the stupidest thing you could possible do? And that is silence your voice. Why don’t you look at this thing a little bit differently? What don’t you open up your voice? Why don’t you tell your story? “That was kind of my low-point in life. And from then on, I never thought about it again.” Speaking to this British outlet, Jenner went on to say that 48 percent of trans people in the United Kingtom have attempted suicide, which is just amazing and depressing to think about. On Thursday, May 10, an unthinkable tragedy struck. A man, while using a public bathroom stall — already in what most would consider dire circumstances just for being there — had a container of soda with him. Which he apparently spilled in an explosive manner, dousing not only the floor … but the shoes of another man in that restroom. One can only imagine Twitter user Joe Grabinski's horror. But, since humans sadly do not come equipped with self-destruct buttons — though the only socially acceptable response to this situation would be to promptly cease existing — he had no options left but to remain silent and immobile within the stall. And, of course, to crowdsource some advice from Twitter. The resulting thread details the advice that he received, and the remainder of his journey of humiliation and shame. Take a look. 1. Disaster strikes Lacking the matches and accelerant needed to politely immolate himself in apology, Joe did the next best thing: asked Twitter for advice. 2. The first rule: do NOT exit the stall For the moment, he at least has a degree of anonymity. That will change if he walks out that door. He needs to remain unseen in a state of quantum uncertainty (I know that this isn’t what that means) for as long as possible. 3.
