America’s Got Talent Season 14: Did the Right Act Win?

America most definitely has talent. After yet another summer of impressive singer, dancers, magicians and plenty more took to the NBC stage on a weekly basis, this much has  been made clear. But who in America has the most talent? According to this beloved reality series? This question answered on the America’s Got Talent Season 14 finale on Wednesday night. Cue the drumroll and then cue the congratulatory message to… … KODI LEE! After weeks of competition, Lee was been crowned the latest champion yesterday evening, besting fellow finalists opera singer Emanne Beasha, violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa, dance troupe Light Balance Kids, singer Benicio Bryant and Ndlovu Youth Choir in the process. “I feel so amazing,” he told Terry Crews after winning. “Unbelievable!” In many ways, this result felt preordained a long time ago. And also well-deserved. The 22 year-old singer and pianist is blind and autistic, yet neither of those attributes prevented him from putting on incredible performances all season long. He run to the title started back when he earned Gabrielle Union’s golden buzzer in the first audition episode of the season. In addition to the honor of being the winner, Lee takes home $1 million and will headline shows from November 7-10 at Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Along with his memorable vocal abilities, Lee’s life story quickly made him a Season 14  fan favorite. The Lake Elsinore, California, native was born with optic nerve hypoplasia and diagnosed with autism at age 4. His mother, Tina, accompanied him on stage for the entire competition Truly inspiring stuff all around. “He’s making people believe in something they didn’t even know is attainable. He’s magic,” Union previously told People Magazine of Lee. Speaking to the press about an hour after the finale, Lee exclaimed: “Heck, yeah! I’m a winner!” The finale features performances from the likes of Cher, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Leona Lewis.  It also gave us a surprise reunion between Simon Cowell and his former fellow American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, who secretly performed with Light Balance Kids and only revealed herself at the end of the performance. Much to Cowell’s shock. In the end, though, it all came back to Lee and down to Lee. “Everybody rooted for him and he’s probably one of the most popular winners we’ve had on one of these shows,” Cowell said, concluding: “He’s got an amazing talent. … The guy’s just an absolute star. He’s one of those contestants you’re going to remember. You’ll always remember that first audition.” CONGRATS TO KODI LEE!

Jinger Duggar: Humiliating Jeremy Vuolo With Ultra-Short Shorts?

Since moving to L.A., Jinger Duggar has undergone such a radical and joyous transformation that fans  hope that Jana will be inspired to break free . But while Jeremy Vuolo is responsible for “allowing” Jinger to break so many family rules, she may have gone too far even for him. After she was spotted wearing some very short shorts, is her husband embarrassed to be seen with her? One of the perks of being given to a husband and therefore no longer being Jim Bob’s property means that the Duggar girls live under new rules. Jeremy Vuolo is a fervently devout Christian — in addition to being a reality star, he’s also a pastor. He has allowed her to wear pants. But even fans who cheered Jinger’s wearing of normal clothes were surprised to hear that she was spotted out in public wearing shorts. These weren’t the sorts of athletic shorts that drape to someone’s knees. They came to mid-thigh at the furthest. That may be normal for, you know, human society, but for the Duggar fertility cult, that makes her a regular Jezebel. But what does Jeremy think? Jeremy Vuolo shared with his fans and followers that he had taken some guy friends to his favorite pizza place in L.A. He posed along with the guys — and of course, his adorable little baby, Felicity. It wasn’t just that Jinger didn’t show up in the photo that raised the eyebrows of fans. Look at the way that the pic of Jeremy is cropped, cutting off an arm. After so many carefully framed and curated photos from the Vuolos, it looks suspiciously like someone was cut out of the frame. Was Jinger there in her short shorts? Did Jeremy scrub her from the pic because she went too far? Jinger has truly undergone a radical transformation since she and Jeremy moved to L.A. She wears pants. She wears sleeveless tops. She even dyed her hair blonde. And while she looks beautiful, the experience was jarring fo ra lot of fans. It seems that physical distance from Jim Bob and the Duggar world has let her feel free to stretch her legs — and bare them. Would her own family even recognize the person she’s become? Probably, but they very likely do not approve. Jinger “gets away” with all of these changes because she’s married to Jeremy. As we mentioned, he is a pastor, and he has strong opinions about Christian theology that differ from those of Jim Bob. He has stated in the past that he doesn’t believe that Jesus granted Christians salvation simply to forbid them from wearing pants. That’s a good line — and a simple but easily understandable expression of why he believes that over-the-top modesty theology is flawed. We have to believe that he doesn’t really care about the shorts. If anything, maybe Jinger cropped herself out for the sake of her family. A lot of ans have been holding out hope that Jinger’s move to a diverse, vibrant city will help her take larger steps away from the Duggars. It’s not that people don’t want her to love and talk to her siblings. It’s just that, well, her whole family is in a secretive, abusive cult and that’s not good for anyone. Nobody’s demanding that she give up her personal religious beliefs, just shed the trappings of her family’s diehard fundamentalism. Jinger has taken great steps in that direction. Fans hope that she’ll go much further. View Slideshow: Jinger Duggar Shares Adorable Pics of Her “Little Family,” Melts Fans’ Hearts

Women’s March Did Not Cut Ties With Tamika Mallory. Here’s The Real Story

Source: Earl Gibson III / Getty On Monday, The Washington Post reported that the Women’s March cut ties with three of its founding members —  Tamika Mallory, Bob Bland,  and  Linda Sarsour — and replaced them by electing three new members of the board as directors. That information, however, was not accurate. NewsOne recently obtained the Women’s March by-laws and they show that Bland, Mallory and Sarsour were serving two-year terms as directors. Those terms have expired, which means, by rule, at least three new directors had to be elected. However, according to the by-laws, one of those directors must be one of the co-chairs of the 2017 Women’s March on Washington and the “director shall be nominated by the Founding Co-Chairs Committee.” This is why Carmen Perez , the fourth founding member who is also on the new board, maintains her position since she was one of the co-chairs of the 2017 march. According to the by-laws, “Any director may resign at any time by giving written notice to a Co-President or Secretary of the Corporation.” The by-laws also state that “Any director may be removed, with cause, by a vote of a majority of the members or by a vote of a majority of the entire Board.” Contrary to mainstream reporting , Mallory, Bland and Sarsour did not step down or cut ties with the Women’s March because of past controversy such as the anti-Semitism accusations aimed at the group. Instead their terms as directors merely expired and they are liable to return to official positions in the future. Though past controversies could have been brought up when discussing transitions, there is no proof so far that this is the case. According to the by-laws, “the directors shall be elected every two years at a meeting of members, and each shall continue in office until her or his successor shall have been duly elected and qualified, or until her or his death, resignation or removal.” Meanwhile, the new 17-member board is made up of diverse activists, including a former legislator, a transgender organizer, two religious leaders and a member of the Oglala tribe of the Lakota nation. The founding board members spent a little over two years finding new members who can serve on the board for the next two years. They recruited a committee to help select the applications after an open call was announced in March. Women’s March wrote in a tweet on Monday, “We couldn’t be more excited to announce our new board who will continue moving Women’s March forward.” We’ve cultivated the leadership of grassroots organizers across the country to make Women’s March a leaderful movement, and now we’re growing. We couldn’t be more excited to announce our new board who will continue moving Women’s March forward. https://t.co/WYvXyqBUhT pic.twitter.com/6yDFK5anuj — Women's March (@womensmarch) September 16, 2019

Whose Side? Iggy Azalea Called Wendy Williams A “Crackhead” And Here’s Who Twitter Is Destroying

Source: GETTY / Getty Iggy Azalea Vs. Wendy Williams Wendy Williams is not one to mince words. So when she went on her show to talk about Nicki Minaj, she mentioned Iggy Azalea , but referred to her as “the Australian girl with the fake body.” Yiiikes. This prompted Iggy to clap back on Twitter with this zinger: “Who’s the crack head in the halfway house with the gossip show thing?” Now, we get the intention here, to clap back. However, a white woman talking about crackheads? We don’t know about that one, chief. See how Twitter is reacting and whose side you’re on: a white Australian female rapper just tried to insult a black woman by comparing her to 1. A crackhead & 2. A man — on Beyoncé’s Internet.. where’s her management? That’s not how you manage that situation. at all. pic.twitter.com/H64EclkMju — Majesty Ria (@ToriNicksWho) September 18, 2019

Tamar Vs. Loni Vol. 49: Twitter Is DRAGGING Tamar For THESE Comments About “The Real”

Source: Nicky Nelson/WENN.com / WENN Tamar Vs. Loni Love It’s been three years since Tamar Braxton ‘s unceremonious exile from hit daytime TV show “The Real.” Since then, she’s been on quite a monster reality TV run, seemingly having moved on. The same could be said for The Real, as they’ve won daytime Emmy Awards and seem to be perfectly fine with their situation, too. Leave it up to Wendy Williams, though, to stir the pot. On Wednesday’s show, she asked Tamar about her time on the show and she responded with this: “Here’s the thing. I don’t want to be anybody’s marketing tool this season, no shade. I just wish everybody well and I feel like sometimes God has to move you out of situations before you become more toxic to yourself….What if I was in a situation where I’m doing ‘Braxton Family Values’ and very stressed and then I’m doing this other show where people are being catty behind my back. What kind of person would I be right now sitting on this couch? I wouldn’t be focused, I wouldn’t be ready for my transformation, I wouldn’t be ready for my elevation and that’s where I’ve gotta go. I’ve got to go up and up and up.” This prompted a live response from Loni Love : Tamar, then, took things to the next level by posting some hearsay about Loni being shady: View this post on Instagram *allegedly* in my @therealtsmadison voice… When the guilt settles …. Lonnie cut the BS!!! Thanks @wendyshow my sister, for having me!!! U may not have an Emmy YET, but the girls are SURELY watching … anyway, back to my transformation!! A post shared by Tamar Braxton (@tamarbraxton) on Sep 18, 2019 at 3:02pm PDT Loni chimed in with this comment: “Who writes letters? Who sent this? …let’s talk it out…stop going on every other show. You know you want to…and bring ya man!” This all seems pretty, pretty nasty and only getting worse by the day. Sometimes I feel like Tamar is still mad at Loni for laughing when she said someone called her a muppet pic.twitter.com/PY9seQ8cBt —

R apper Meek Mill is making an impact beyond music. The Philadelphia-bred hip-hop artist has been dedicated to empowering the youth in his hometown. Weeks after unveiling renovated basketball courts in North Philly Meek—whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams —returned to his former elementary school to donate backpacks and school supplies, CBS Philly reported. Meek Mill Donates More Than 500 Backpacks To His Former Philadelphia Elementary School https://t.co/8eEIvagUdn — CBS Philly (@CBSPhilly) September 13, 2019 Williams visited the James G. Blaine Elementary School to provide students with encouraging words and distribute 500 backpacks filled with supplies. He also gifted 30 teachers at the school with classroom supplies that will last the entire year. The initiative was a collaborative effort between Williams and Puma. This isn’t the first time that he has stepped up to support the youth during the back-to-school season. In the past, he’s hosted several school drives benefiting children in his hometown. Last year, he teamed up with the School District of Philadelphia to donate 6,000 backpacks to underprivileged students. “Growing up in Philly, I’ve watched families struggle to make ends meet and buy basic school supplies for the kids,” he told Billboard in a statement. “Those memories stay with me and that’s why I’m committed to giving back to families in my hometown, putting smiles on kids’ faces and helping them start the school year on the right now with the right supplies.” Williams’ donation comes at a time where many students and teachers at schools throughout the country need support as financial obstacles have prevented them from being able to purchase essential supplies for school. According to the  National Center for Children in Poverty , 15 million children throughout the country live in extreme poverty and are unable to afford school supplies. A  study  conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics revealed that 94 percent of public school teachers have spent some of their own money on school supplies without reimbursement.
