Not only that, but he posted it on Instagram for the whole world to see–but let’s be honest, we don’t blame him . View this post on Instagram #KanyeWest Gives #DJKhaled The New #Yeezys Off His Feet A post shared by 2Cool2Blog (@2cool2bl0g) on Sep 15, 2019 at 2:30pm PDT After spending the weekend in Atlanta for Diddy’s Revolt Music Summit, DJ Khaled hit the airport to take the private jet back to Miami to be with the family . While heading to the PJ, he spotted his friend in music Kanye West, who was leaving Atlanta after holding his own event, Sunday service . Of course, Khaled had to catch up with his past collaborator and friend, and ultimately ended up securing some Yeezys in the process. And by secure, we mean Kanye blessed Khaled with his unreleased Adidas/Yeezy “451” basketball sneakers right off of his own two feet. It makes sense that Ye would be in a giving mood after spending all day in church, after all, walking on the tarmac boiling from Georgia heat isn’t really worth it to bless just anyone with unreleased sneakers! Hopefully, Jordan Brand is understanding and doesn’t give Khaled too much trouble for working with the competition. How could he resist?
A fter enduring a harrowing experience as a result of a flawed criminal justice system Korey Wise —a member of the Exonerated Five—is turning his pain into positivity through activism. According to the Amsterdam News , the Harlem native recently provided youngsters in his community with school supplies and backpacks just in time for the new school year. #BackToSchool : Korey Wise of the #Exonerated5 distributes school supplies and inspiration in Schomburg Plaza https://t.co/cI8xMEeVuy — Amsterdam News (@NYAmNews) August 30, 2019 Wise teamed up with a group called Friends of Public Schools Harlem Inc. for the initiative. The organization provides local schools in the community with the supplies needed to ensure the educational success of their students. Friends of Public Schools Harlem Inc. also donates funds to schools for the creation of health and wellness and arts programs. The group is on a mission to provide 4,000 students in Harlem with backpacks and supplies through a grant provided by The Migdol Family Foundation. At the event hosted by Wise at Harlem’s Schomburg Plaza over 200 students were served. Wise says he was grateful to be able to pay it forward to children from his community. “It was great to be back at Schomburg Plaza where I grew up and give something back to today’s children,” he said in a statement, according to the news outlet. “Being here and providing school supplies helps students start the school year better prepared to succeed and sends a message that somebody cares. It was great to see the smiles from parents and children. I thank the Friends of Public Schools Harlem and the Migdol Family for making it happen.” FPSH board member Jerry Migdol says that Wise’s support is instrumental in leveling the playing field when it comes to educational resources. Since being exonerated in 2002 Wise—who has become a criminal justice reform advocate and public speaker—has continually used his platform and resources to give back. In 2015, he donated $190,000 to the University of Colorado’s Innocence Project to help fight wrongful convictions. Source: Mike Pont / Getty Tonight’s episode of Power finds Tasha potentially getting a new love interest. Unfortunately for her, she’ll never actually get her groove back (before going to jail) because Ghost won’t let her be happy. Let me rephrase that, she won’t be able to get her groove back as long as her narcissistic ex is alive . This is beyond f–k boy because Ghost has proven that he will actually kill anyone that Tasha loves as we’ve seen him do to Terry Silver. Here’s the deal about potential new bae, Tasha finally opened up her new daycare. One of her, ahem, clients is a sexy man named “Q,” and their chemistry is undeniable from the moment they first lock eyes. We knew they would get it on. They almost did, in Tasha’s office on top of a desk, but Tasha remembered who she was and stopped it. Her life is just too complicated and dangerous to be playing with people’s hearts, knowing that they might get killed simply by being affiliated with her. There was even a moment when Ghost came to the daycare to talk to her because she called him out on yet another crappy and selfish decision. Basically, he dissolved Raina’s trust fund and forged Tasha’s signature to do it. Ghost is using that money for the Queens Child Project and probably to pay Jason too, but Tasha feels like she’s entitled to half of that money, which she is. Anyway, he comes to confront her about demanding half and slowing down what he has going on, and Q interrupts the party. Tasha swiftly rushes Q outside to chat with him and Ghost hit him with the stare down the entire time like: Q says he’s not afraid of Ghost and that he has dealt with worse. Obviously, he doesn’t know who he’s dealing with, so we’ll see how this goes. Either Q is an agent sent to create more chaos, or he really is a naive law-abiding citizen who wants to see what life with Tasha could be all about. You never know with this show so we’ll have to see. Q: “Tasha, I seen worse than him. I can handle him.” The rest of us: #Power #PowerTV pic.twitter.com/qAD93vDkAT — Blocka Khan (@Starr_Rocque) September 15, 2019 Anyway, Ghost made it clear a long time ago that he doesn’t love Tasha but he also won’t let her be great. But then he admitted that he killed Terry because he kinda sorta still loved her. Obviously, this isn’t love. Let’s be real, Ghost is like a lot of toxic men who don’t really love their woman but will do anything they can to control them. Ghost being trash is a weekly theme. The other interesting point of note in the episode is that Proctor killed his ex-wife. It wasn’t directly but he’s an evil genius. He lied and told her that he was engaged, then had a fake letter sent to her from a law firm, denying her employment. He did all of this to trigger her enough to binge on drugs, which she did. Things got so bad that his daughter called him over for help because mom was spazzing out. She spazzed herself right to death. Proctor pulled out his phone and initially planned to call 911, but when she started foaming at the mouth he decided to let death do what it do. The only problem is, he said out loud, “I’m not gonna let you take her from me,” and you can hear that he didn’t call 911. His daughter’s backpack, the one that Saxe had bugged, was sitting right there, recording everything. Things looked shady af for Tommy too. His mom got to spend some time with Keisha and made it a point to mention Holly’s disappearance. Basically, Tommy’s mom doesn’t trust Keisha and wants Tommy to be smart about her. She feels like Keisha will always put her son first, as she should. However, Tommy is hardheaded, even though his mom has been right before. People on this show have had nine lives, but I get the feeling that won’t be the case this season. In the forthcoming memoir, Inside Out , the actress opens up about losing a pregnancy during her relationship with ex Ashton Kutcher , going on to say that she blamed herself for it because she was drinking at the time. According to reports from the New York Times , Moore revealed in the book that she suffered a miscarriage six months into her pregnancy back in the early 2000s, before she and Kutcher ended up getting married. She was so far into the pregnancy, the couple had already decided on a name for the baby girl. The publication goes on to say that the actress, “started drinking again and blamed herself for the loss.” She and Kutcher tried to conceive again through fertility treatments, but her drinking only got worse. But those aforementioned revelations were far from the only shocking details the actress laid out in her memoir. In the book, she also accuses her then-husband Ashton Kutcher of cheating on her before they separated in 2011. At the time, Page Six reported that Kutcher allegedly had an affair with a 22-year-old blonde on the night of his sixth wedding anniversary with Moore. Demi goes on to reveal several other explosive stories throughout the book, including revealing that she was raped at 15 and once suffered a seizure after smoking synthetic cannabis and inhaling nitrous oxide at a party with her daughter, Rumer Willis. Moore reportedly began writing her memoir two years ago after going to rehab for trauma, co-dependency and substance abuse and fixing her relationship with her daughters. According to Entertainment Weekly , the rapper will star as the personification of death in Apple TV+’s upcoming series Dickinson. This show is going to follow the young life of the famous poet Emily Dickinson . “We literally put Wiz Khalifa on our tone board as this would be the dream,” show creator Alena Smith told EW when speaking on their decision to cast such an unlikely lead. “Like he’s the aesthetic we want Death to have and then somehow we magically got Wiz Khalifa, so that was incredible.” Also set to star in the series is Hailee Steinfeld, who will play alongside Khalifa as a young Emily Dickinson. Khalifa and the idea of death will serve as Dickinson’s muse and lover throughout the series. The show blends hip-hop and poetry to convey their romance and will also infuse modern music and dialogue to make the overall story palatable for audiences. “I wanted Death to be the coolest guy in the world because Emily is in love with Death,” Smith continued. “Part of the story of the season is about her coming to a more realistic and mature understanding of Death, but where she begins is a kind of Goth worship of death. I just really wanted it to be someone that you would genuinely get excited to see.” We all know and love Wiz for having such a laid-back yet fun-loving personality in real life, so it will definitely be different watching him as the personification of death. Dickinson is set to premiere when Apple TV+ becomes available for users on November 1.

W hile coming of age in Harlem, Kevin Richardson dreamt of taking his passions for music and basketball to Syracuse University. His plan to further his education at the school would come to a halt in 1989 when the then 14-year-old was wrongfully convicted of rape along with four other Black and Latino teens who were labeled as the Central Park Five. It’s been 17 years since the men were exonerated, and the institution is honoring Richardson in a special way. According to WRVO , the university recently created a scholarship named after him. Kevin Richardson is one of the five black and Hispanic men falsely accused of rape in 1989 — also known as the Central Park Five. Sunday, Richardson’s dream to attend Syracuse University was honored: https://t.co/T41PBkLnSp — Spectrum News 13 (@MyNews13) September 9, 2019 Richardson was celebrated at a benefit reception hosted by the school’s Office of Multicultural Advancement where the scholarship was unveiled. The fund—which is a part of the school’s Our Time Has Come Scholarship program—will financially support Black and Latinx students attending Syracuse. According to the university, 1,300 students have been served through the initiative. Richardson—whose harrowing experience motivated him to become a criminal justice reform advocate—is humbled by the university’s decision to name a scholarship after him. “Just for people who look like me – people of color – to be helped and have a scholarship connected to my name, to help out individuals to move on further, which I didn’t get a chance to, to actually pay it forward to others – that is the best thing that can happen,” Richardson told the news outlet. “If I’m not around tomorrow, at least my legacy will continue on.” Aside from the scholarship fund, students are pushing to have Richardson honored by the university in other ways. According to the Daily Orange Jalen Nash —a political science major at the school—launched an online petition asking Syracuse to award Richardson with an honorary degree. So far, the petition has garnered over 5,000 signatures. “While this dream could never be fulfilled due to circumstance, it is never too late to do the right thing,” Nash told ABC News . It highlights Gordy’s entrepreneurial start and features the narratives of legendary artists like The Jackson 5 , Stevie Wonder , Marvin Gaye , and The Temptations who were instrumental in the success of the label. In October 2016, the museum revealed plans for a $50 million, 50,000-square-foot expansion. As part of the project, there would be more interactive exhibits, a performance theater, recording studios, retail shops and meeting spaces added. So far there has been $18 million raised and Gordy’s contribution is the largest from an individual donor. “I’m excited about the future of Motown Museum and happy to support it,” 89-year-old Gordy said in a release. “Not only will the expanded museum entertain and tell the stories of talented and creative people who succeeded against all odds, but it will also inspire and create opportunity for people to explore their dreams the way I did mine. I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of that.” Other donors include the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, DTE Energy Foundation, and Ford Motor Co. Leaders of the museum say they want to expand their impact in the local community by fostering job creation and economic growth. Robin Terry —who serves as the chairman and CEO of the museum—says that with Gordy’s contribution the institution can move forward with solidifying itself as a world-class entertainment and educational destination.
