This year will be the same and they have a special lineup of artist for your entertainment. Follow @TheRSMS According to OkayPlayer , the headliners of the show include Janet Jackson , Mary J. Blige , Erykah Badu and Jill Scott . Fans better get ready because they also will get to see 112 , Daniel Caesar , MC Lyte and more. There will be a special performance by The Roots with Badu and Scott, which will be one of the highlights of the show. Badu recently came under fire for saying she “saw something good in Hitler.” She went on Twitter to explain herself and said, “People are in real pain. So I understand why my ‘good’ intent was misconstrued as ‘bad,’” In trying to express a point, I used 1 of the worst examples possible, Not to support the cruel actions of an unwell, psychopathic Adolf Hitler , but to only exaggerate a show of compassion.” We can’t wait to see what more Essence Fest has in store this year. Jesse Williams Says He’s Not In A Relationship With Cierra Pardo Jesse Williams is setting the record straight for his ex and the courts about who he’s “not dating”. Rumors are swirling that Jesse is “seeing” a woman who his family has parlayed with for years, Ciarra Pardo. Tricky thing is, there’s a court order stating that the children are NOT to meet any new romantic interests before the six-month mark of dating. No Jesse is fessing up to just being friends with this woman his kids call “Momma C”. TMZ reports: Aryn Drake-Lee has claimed Jesse is romantically involved with a woman the kids call Mama C. She claims it’s in violation of their custody arrangement which requires them not to introduce a significant other until the relationship has lasted 6 months. He says she’s a longtime mutual friend of theirs and that’s it. Jesse just filed legal docs saying Aryn has been interrogating their 2 children, trying to find fault with things he does. Jesse and Ciarra have been kicking it hard since September. Remember when Jesse was all “I’m not hitting that cute chick at work”…and he WAS? Do you think he’s telling the truth?

Dr. Phil Accused Of Giving Drugs To Addicts Multiple guests of the “Dr. Phil” show claim that the good doctor fed their addictions in the name of good TV. According to Page Six , several addicts have come forward with accusations that Dr. Phil and his production staff put them at risk by leaving them without medical attention or by supplying drugs and alcohol to them throughout their recovery. A joint investigation from STAT and the Boston Globe revealed that one guest, “Survivor: China” winner Todd Herzog arrived to Phil’s show sober, yet seeking assistance for his addiction. He says that when he arrived in his dressing room, he found a liter of vodka, which he ultimately was unable to resist drinking. When he alerted a member of production what had happened, they offered him prescription Xanax to help settle his nerves. He famously appeared on the show drunk off his azz, actually blowing a 0.263, nearly three times the legal driving limit. He claims he ultimately was helped by the program, but an addict shouldn’t have to fight that battle with easy drugs being pushed their way. SMH! They describe their list as follows: “Our annual survey of the year’s most influential creative figures is testament to how turbulent times can be a powerful muse. Among the honorees are entertainers who delivered catharsis, a chef who feeds hurricane victims and the creative team whose idea became a symbol of female empowerment. We hope they inspire you to create abundantly in the year to come.” For 2017, people on the list include Rihanna , Terry Crews , Cardi B , Stephen Colbert , Jordan Peele , Kehinde Wiley , Melissa McCarthy , Donald Glover , and many many more. As aforementioned, Terry Crews tops the list–but not only that, he also designed the cover of the issue. Many probably weren’t aware that the already super successful actor and former NFL player is also a talented graphic artist, but he showcases his said hidden talent with his rendition of Mount Rushmore. Though there are a good number of people already in the spotlight highlighted by the list, it’s also refreshing to see those behind the scenes be honored for their contributions.
