Nivea Was Definitely On One: New Details About The Post-Wedding Slizzard-ness And DUI She Claims Never Happened

Just how far in the bottle was Nivea when she got arrested late Saturday night? She doesn’t remember the truth about what happened. Yesterday, Nivea took to twitter to defend herself and let all her concerned fans know she was good. Oh, and to curse out a blogger. Here’s the thing though: the Atlanta police officers who popped her don’t believe her any more than the rest of us do, according to TMZ . According to law enforcement sources … Nivea was on the road around 1:30 AM on Sunday when she plowed her ’06 Mercedes right into a tree that had fallen into the road during a recent storm. We’re told when cops arrived at the scene, Nivea had “bloodshot, glassy eyes and smelled like alcohol.” Nivea told police she only had 3 drinks earlier in the evening … and didn’t see the bright yellow crime tape and the traffic cones directing cars away from the downed tree. Nivea was eventually arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and reckless driving. We’re told the child in the car was not injured and was released to Nivea’s boyfriend. Yellow crime scene tape? Traffic cones?? A tree in the middle of the road??? What sober mom would have missed those or any other major hazard while her 18-month-old was in the car? Besides, since when are they holding people overnight for a $3000 bond for a car accident where no one was injured???

Lady Gaga Was ‘Spontaneous’ On ‘Judas’ Set, Norman Reedus Says

Judas himself opens up to MTV News about the just-released video. By Jocelyn Vena Norman Reedus Photo: MTV News When Norman Reedus, who played the title character in Lady Gaga’s “Judas” video , stopped by the MTV News offices Friday (May 6), he told us Gaga had everyone on their toes on set — in the best way possible. “I like the lipstick part, because that was sort of last minute,” the “Walking Dead” star said. “She just jumped up [and was like], ‘I have this great idea. I’m gonna put lipstick in front of you, and right before you kiss Jesus, I’m going to pull out this gun, and I’m gonna pull the trigger, and then a lipstick’s [gonna come out], and then I’m going to put it on you like I’m enabling the kiss!’ “She looked at me like, ‘Is that cool?’ ” he continued. “And I’m like, ‘Rad.’ And we did it. I liked how she was so spontaneous.” Reedus’ other favorite scene is the opening shot, where Judas, Mary Magdalene (Gaga) and Jesus (Rick Gonzalez) are all on the road with their biker-gang disciples. “We got there the first day, and we all took motorcycle lessons [in a parking lot and] one of the disciples trashed his motorcycle up against the curb, which was hysterical,” he recalled. “So we did that, and then they cut off part of the freeway and actually cops would fly by us and section off the road. So we rode in a pack.” While Gaga didn’t actually have to drive one of the bikes, he said her stunts were quite awe-inspiring. “She wasn’t driving the bike, but she was riding on the back. … We were flying down the freeway, and she got up on the back … and was way off the back of the seat and hanging backwards and stuff,” he said. “Which was a daredevil move; it was pretty intense. She had all these jewels all over her, and every once and a while, you could see behind her bike just a trail of jewels dropping on the freeway. It was kind of magic.” Since Reedus has had about 24 hours to think about the video, he said it gets his seal of approval. “My reaction when I saw it? I was excited to see my motorcycle in it first off, ’cause that’s my bike that I ride, and I thought it was really good,” he said. “I thought that [co-director] Laurieann [Gibson] did a really good job and Gaga did a good job, and I know there’s a lot of work put into it, and I could see all the work on the screen, so I liked it.” What did you think of the video? Jeremy Renner Cast In ‘The Bourne Legacy’

Film is not set to include Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne. By Kara Warner Jeremy Renner Photo: Getty Images After months of speculation, Universal has officially named actor Jeremy Renner as the star of “The Bourne Legacy.” According to Deadline , the two-time Oscar nominee (for “The Hurt Locker” and “The Town”) is expected to “sign on quickly” to play a new character in the spin-off film written and directed by “Bourne” screenwriter Tony Gilroy. Renner will reportedly play an operative from a covert government program that is even more dangerous than the Treadstone brainwashing program that hatched Jason Bourne, memorably played by Matt Damon in the first three hit films. For those who have been following the ups and downs of the “Bourne” saga, Renner’s casting is not at all a surprise, given reports that leaked earlier this month saying he had been offered the role. The actor beat out a slew of talented and buzzworthy contenders, which reportedly included Alex Pettyfer, Taylor Kitsch, Dominic Cooper, Garrett Hedlund and Luke Evans. Gilroy has previously stated that although Damon’s Bourne will not be a part of “Legacy,” he has left the door open for future Bourne-centric films down the road. “The easiest way to think of it is an expansion or a reveal,” Gilroy said of his story for “Legacy.” “Jason Bourne will not be in this film, but he’s very much alive. What happened in the first three films is the trigger for what happens. I’m building a legend and an environment and a wider conspiracy. … The world we’re making enhances and advances and invites Jason Bourne’s return [down the road].” Production is said to begin in September. ‘Lemonade Mouth’ Stars Talk Possible Tour Plans

‘It’s up to the people,’ Disney co-star Blake Michael tells MTV News about the fictional TV band. By Jocelyn Vena The cast of “Lemonade Mouth” The Disney Channel’s latest movie, “Lemonade Mouth” debuted over the weekend. The feel-good flick about a ragtag group of teens who form a band named Lemonade Mouth is based on the book by Mark Peter Hughes, and last week we caught up with the gang who told us they’d be down to hit the road for a tour — if the fans want it. “We have no idea,” co-star Naomi Scott explained to MTV News about potential plans to take the TV band out on the road. Her co-star Blake Michael added, “It’s up to the people.” The group has already performed on “Good Morning America,” hitting the stage last week. And Hayley Kiyoko said if they were tapped to hit the road to perform tracks from the movie, they’d certainly have the skills to pay the bills. “I think we all love performing and we’re all very musically inclined and if we get a tour, that’d be awesome,” she said. “We’re just enjoying what’s going on right now and performing and we’re gonna keep doing it whether or not there’s a tour or not.” Disney has a pretty impressive track record when it comes to launching the next big thing (Zac Efron, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, to name a few), but regardless of what happens next with Lemonade Mouth, Scott said that they’re just living in the moment. “I don’t think that we are trying to be anything; we’re just who we are,” Scott said. “We are who we are, like we’re just ourselves and wherever that takes us; it’s not sort of a planned route. We’ll see.” What did you think of the “Lemonade Mouth” movie? Tell us in the comments! Nicki Minaj ‘Really Excited’ About Britney Spears Tour

MC says she wants to ‘show people that I can be part of any world.’ By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway Nicki Minaj Photo: Chris McKay/WireImage Fans are eight weeks away from the launch of the Femme Fatale tour. Britney Spears , along with top-line tour opener Nicki Minaj, will get the party started in June in Sacramento, California. Minaj has called the slot “an honor.” When MTV News caught up with the Barbie herself in New Orleans for the latest stop on the I Am Still Music Tour , she opened up a bit more about the matchup. “She’s definitely iconic and I’m very excited,” Minaj explained. “It’s weird. I just always remember her, since I was little, ruling the world, so I’m really excited to just expand my fanbase and show people that I can be a part of any world.” Minaj is the reigning princess in the hip-hop world, and she feels that hooking up with pop’s leading queen will expand her horizons, even if she has to make some changes to her stage show. “Of course I will adjust some things. I definitely will take away that one particular stage prop,” she said of one very phallic object, adding that her music and set list will basically stay the same. “We’ll add some stuff ’cause I got some new things coming out this summer, some new records.” Earlier this week, Minaj called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show , promising that things will be characteristically over-the-top when she hits the road with Spears. “I’m calling to let everyone know how thrilled I am, how honored I am to be going on the road with the iconic Miss Britney Spears this summer. I just know that when the Femme Fatales and the Barbs get together, we’re going to kick major ass,” she said. “And I am looking forward to creating a new, a bigger, a brighter, a more spectacular show. And I am just really, really excited to make history with Britney, so you guys, make sure you come out this summer.” Related Videos Britney Spears: I Am The Femme Fatale Related Artists Nicki Minaj Britney Spears

‘American Idol’ Recap: Lauren Alaina, James Durbin Shine On Movie Night

Casey Abrams delivers a jazzy Nat King Cole tune, while Stefano Langone hopes it isn’t the end of the road for him on ‘Idol.’ By Eric Ditzian Haley Reinhart performs on “American Idol” Wednesday Photo: Fox She’s gone but not forgotten. The ghost of Pia Toscano was everywhere on Wednesday’s (April 13) “American Idol,” from an opening montage reminding viewers that “every vote counts,” to a poster in the audience that read “I miss Pia” to the mentors’ many invocations of the eliminated finalist’s name. But Pia, alas, is gone and the show, as they say in Hollywood, must go on — in this case to Tinseltown itself. The theme was songs of the cinema , and like last week, we got a show with no bombs and a few blockbusters. Paul McDonald kicked things off with Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock and Roll” from “Risky Business.” Unlike Tom Cruise in that classic ’80s flick, however, Paul didn’t perform the song in his underwear, a tactic that would likely have assured the guy a spot in the finals. Nonetheless, he kicked the show off in style, a high-energy performance in which he ditched his guitar and sashayed around the stage but didn’t succumb to the silly dance moves we’ve seen from him in the past. The judges loved his rose-embroidered suit, loved his sax player, but more than anything else, they loved his energy. “I love your crazy, wild abandon,” said Steven Tyler, while Randy argued America had just witnessed the opening number at a forthcoming McDonald concert. Next up was Lauren Alaina, whom mentor Jimmy Iovine dubbed not only a better singer than Miley Cyrus but one capable of burying the Disney starlet’s own rendition of “The Climb.” What’s more, Jimmy delivered a message to all of the viewers at home: Lauren’s the contestant who deserves to gobble up Pia’s voting bloc. Her ballad would certainly appeal to fans of the departed singer, though Lauren’s tune was hardly as pitch-perfect as previous Pia songs. What Lauren delivered was a performance that was, in terms of emotion and comfort level on the stage, far superior to anything Pia had delivered. “I love the tear you have in your voice. It’s a cry. It’s something that really transmits,” Jennifer Lopez said. “You sang it so beautifully, so beautifully. You don’t need to steal anybody’s votes. You’re getting your own.” It remains to be seen just how many votes of his own Stefano Langone will be getting. But during his cover of Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road,” he made a serious bid to attract enough support to stay safe for another week. He started off weakly, his vocals seemingly not up to the task of nailing the song’s high notes. Yet as the music built, Stefano stepped up, letting loose vocally and showing more artistry than we’ve perhaps ever seen from him. Predicting what Boyz II Men would soon tell him, Jackson said, “Your man Stefano just slayed the song.” The other judges agreed. “This is so not the end of the road for you,” Tyler said. “This is the beginning.” The same could be said of Scotty McCreery, who can do no wrong in the judges’ eyes nor, it appears, in those of the public. The 17-year-old suggested he was going back to his country roots with George Strait’s “I Cross My Heart,” as if he’d ever strayed far from them. Call it returning to his strengths or continuing to exploit them — whatever the case, Scotty once again busted out a mature performance that could become a hit on country radio tomorrow. He even took a few more vocal risks than usual, including a sustained note at the finale that was easily three times longer than any other he’d belted out all season. “Everybody wants us to be tough with you guys, but the truth is y’all are so damn good,” Lopez said. “All I really want to say is wow. That was really good.” Jackson seconded that assessment, and raised her one. “Look at this guy right here,” he said. “A star is born on this stage.” Casey Abrams, rocking an ascot and a severely trimmed beard, followed Scotty onto the stage. He was unsure if he should sing Phil Collins or Nat King Cole, but ultimately went with a slow and jazzy take on Cole’s “Nature Boy” that allowed him to whisper and growl and scat and, of course, slap some on the bass. The judges certainly thought Casey made the right choice. They praised his artistry and the educational value of his music, comparing him to Norah Jones, Michael Bubl

Katy Perry Says Her ‘Honest’ Anthems Are Highlight Of Arena Shows

‘When I’m playing ‘Firework,’ the whole arena literally moves up and down,’ she tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway Katy Perry Photo: MTV News Katy Perry has been hitting the road on her California Dreams World Tour , which hits the States in June. Her colorful live show includes costumes to match and choice cuts plucked from the singer’s repertoire. Some of those tunes, specifically songs from last year’s Teenage Dream, are proving to be more than just a good time for fans — they’re also inspirational. “I always want to be completely honest and, for this record in particular, I knew from the outside world, a lot had changed. [But] I was hoping that I was still the same me, [the] kind of quirky, weird-perspective girl that I’ve always been,” she told MTV News recently. “But you know, there was a lot of distraction and glitz and glam. When you get to a certain point, you have to push it all away and remember what your core is, and that’s what I did for this record.” So, before she hit the road or the recording studio, Perry headed home to Santa Barbara, California, and took it all back to the beginning, before she was a famous pop star with an over-the-top life. “I started writing songs like ‘Firework’ and ‘Teenage Dream’ and songs that I think now are anthems for people,” she explained. “When I’m playing ‘Firework,’ the whole arena literally moves up and down. It’s the song that people are holding onto and inspired by.” Perry admitted that something as simple as a Hollywood party can be fun fodder for a song, but these days she likes to go a little deeper. “I feel really happy that I took that time to not write about DJs and fame, the materialistic world, which is great ’cause I love those glitz-and-glamour bells and whistles, but I know people connect to more substantial [lyrics].” Which Katy Perry song are you most eager to hear her perform live? Steve Angello, AN21, Max Vangeli In ‘Work Mode’ On Size Matters Tour

‘[Max and AN21] are going to finish their album, I’m going to do music, and I’m going to sleep!’ Angello tells MTV News of no-nonsense tour. By Adam Stewart Steve Angello Photo: MTV News The wave of success Size Records has been riding hit the pavement last month in the form of a huge motor coach touring the country. For one of the hottest labels in dance music, the multi-city Size Matters Tour formally kicked off back on March 22 at Fontainebleau’s LIV nightclub — the first in a series of massive Miami Music Week parties at the swanky venue. But the bus didn’t truly hit the road until a week later, when all the Miami madness had subsided. Now that Steve Angello, AN21 and Max Vangeli are done frolicking in the Sunshine State, things are about to get real. “Oh, they’re going to sleep at 8 p.m.,” Angello told MTV News. “[And] they’re going to wake up at 7 [a.m.]. They’re going to run next to the bus, [and] I’m going to keep them in shape!” “I’m already scared,” Vangeli told us in a separate interview. “I’m really scared!” AN21 added. It seems as if big brother has instilled the fear of God in the youngsters, who tell us they are as far as 13 or 14 tracks into their highly anticipated album, set for completion this year. Moreover, for the first time in what seems like ages, brothers Steve and AN21 will have a chance to sit down along with Max and finish up a track that the three have been working on for some time. “We have a track that we’ve actually been working on with Steve for, like, six months — maybe even longer,” AN21 said. “It’s so hard to finish it, because he’s always on the road or working on other things or we’re always on the road, so now we have his undivided attention [for] three weeks, so we’re going to finish something.” “It’s going to be work mode,” Angello said. “[Max and AN21] are going to finish their album, I’m going to do music, and I’m going to sleep!” There’s no denying that Angello means business. But we all know how the Swedes and their pals like to have a good time, so we had to ask the man in charge if there is any chance of the bus turning into a frat house on wheels. “There’s not going to be any alcohol on the bus — whatsoever!” Angello told us with an “I’m not kidding” look. “I heard from sources that if I bring one beer on the bus, [Steve]’s kicking me off,” Vangeli confirmed. “But I’m allowed to have two beers per week,” AN21 added with a smirk. “Maybe three!” “We have a lot of stuff to do [and] to work on, so it’s good,” Max added of the rules. “It was the same way in L.A. when we were working in the studio. Everyone was like, ‘Oh, guys, come out for the night!’ [but] Steve was like, ‘You finish your work and then you go!’ ” Even though we’re certain Angello’s no-nonsense rules might be bent just a tad, the packed schedule the gang has ahead of them certainly doesn’t leave much wiggle room for anything else. Having already logged miles with stops in Orlando, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Montreal, Toronto and Vegas, the Size Matters Tour hits up the Midwest on its next leg starting Tuesday night (April 5) in Columbus, Ohio, before a West Coast stint that ultimately rounds out the U.S. leg of the tour at Coachella on April 16. And then, of course, comes their slew of European dates, which take them out toward the end of summer. There’s certainly no rest for rest for this hard-hitting crew, but for Angello, it’s a much-needed change of pace. “You know, friends are jumping on [the bus] and coming off,” he said. “Different friends are joining me in different cities. It’s going to be fun, it’s a break of airports. I just need something else!” Will you check out the Size Matters Tour when it comes to your town? Let us know in the comments below! Be Open To A New Beginning

Here is the original post:

Each day brings a new beginning. It’s a fresh start to possibilities for each of us. What we do with the things that cross our path is exclusively up to us. How we handle the bumps in the road is what defines us as people. There will always be bumps in the road. It is inevitable. It comes with living. How many of us are truly open to experience each new day? Every moment is another chance for us to elevate and evolve, an opportunity for us to make choices that reflect what we have learned. Yet why do we linger in old patterns and habits? Many of us know the rules. For example, we all know that if we want to shed some pounds, we have to eat healthily and exercise. But knowing is completely different from doing. We may “know” that a partner stifles our growth, yet because of our fears, we stay in the relationship. I’m not saying that we can’t learn from “negative” experiences—in fact, many of our greatest lessons may come from our perceived “negative” ordeals.
