So why can’t I sleep?” So narrates Robert Downey Jr. in the new (AWESOME!) trailer for Iron Man 3 , which opens this May and which will feature Tony forced to protect all that is dearest to him. Namely, Pepper Potts. A majority of the teaser builds up the feud between Iron Man and Ben Kingsley’s The Mandarin, who issues our hero a dire warning: Today is the first day of what’s left of your life . Marvel’s Iron Man 3 which is set for a May 2013 release and starring Robert Downey Jr. , Gwyneth Paltrow, Guy Pearce , Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall and Jon Favreau, may seem a long way off, but fans are getting a peek at the action/adventure/sci-fi with four new pics. Directed by Shane Black, the story centers on Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) who goes up against a powerful enemy: The Mandarin. New images depict the Iron Patriot armor (main photo), Rebecca Hall looking a bit scruffed up, Downey, Jr. as Stark in an immaculate goatee and a iron mask in-hand. Log line: Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. Jef Holm and Emily Maynard were surprisingly seen together over the weekend. Second thoughts perhaps? Or just the awkward pick-up-your-stuff reunion? Most likely the latter. Emily Maynard and Jef Holm broke up earlier this month. The Bachelorette stars have even confirmed it, issuing a statement last week. Nevertheless, the two were photographed together Sunday in Charlotte. Both clad in sunglasses, the reality TV pair, who were supposedly miserable together, kept grim faces as they headed to their car with Ricki, Maynard’s 7-year-old daughter. No word yet on why the couple spent time together over the weekend, or whether it will somehow lead to a reconciliation between the couple. We’d bet heavily against it. In other Bachelor news, Tony Pieper and Blakeley Shea Jones split. Sad.
Tony Stark is in serious trouble. In the first official trailer for Iron Man 3 , we see and hear from a far more serious Robert Downey Jr., as he laments past mistakes and vows to protect Peppers Potts. But that may prove to be a challenge with Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin on the loose. This is a villain who considers himself both a terrorist and a teacher and who does not believe in heroes. Watch him unleash some serious fury in the following preview and prepare yourself for the blockbuster’s release on May 3: Iron Man 3 Trailer
