The star laughed about playing a pop in both “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” and “Water for Elephants.” “I was just doing some additional stuff for ‘Water for Elephants,’ and there were loads of kids … I’ve always got a baby,” he joked to MTV News on the red carpet Sunday night at the 2011 Golden Globes . Sure, playing a dad may make him a little nervous, but does going to big, splashy awards shows still make the red-carpet-shy actor a bit jittery? “I think I’m just going more and more deaf,” about the pre-show commotion. “And it’s becoming more and more difficult to concentrate. I do entire interviews where they go, ‘You’ve got one minute!’ And I go, ‘Huh? Huh?’ ” During Pattinson’s chat with MTV News, he also talked about the just-released still from “Breaking Dawn” featuring Edward and Bella naked in bed together. “I love how they release that for the first one. They just give it all away,” he said about the photo . Pattinson laughed about what was running through his mind while shooting that scene, and told us the sex scenes with Stewart were no more awkward than with other actresses, such as his “Bel Ami” co-star Uma Thurman. “It’s always awkward, in a way, doing it with anybody,” he admitted. “But at the same time … it really depends on how it’s staged and stuff. Robert Pattinson Laughs Off ‘Breaking Dawn’ Bed Photo

What was all the hubbub about? The photo featured Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) in bed on their fictional honeymoon. So, how did Pattinson feel about it being one of the first official looks from the flick? “I love how they release that for the first one,” he told MTV News sarcastically Sunday (January 16) on the Golden Globes red carpet. “They just give it all away.” Well, giving it all away seemed to be the theme of the photo (since it appears to show the couple having sex), and fans were salivating over the idea of finally getting the chance to see Edward and Bella get down onscreen. Pattinson laughed about what was running through his mind while shooting that scene, and told us the sex scenes with Stewart were no more awkward than with other actresses, such as his “Bel Ami” co-star Uma Thurman. “It’s always awkward, in a way, doing it with anybody,” he admitted. “But at the same time … it really depends on how it’s staged and stuff. It’s like doing Twister.” Also on Sunday night’s red carpet, Pattinson’s movie dad, Peter Facinelli, revealed some details about filming the big “Breaking Dawn” fight scene, leaking how much longer the cast will be onset with director Bill Condon: “We’ve been shooting the last two weeks with a lot of vampires,” he said. “I don’t want to give away too much, but if you’ve read the books, it’s the standoff with lots of vampires in play. There’s like 70 people going through the works at once. It’s a little maddening, but fun,” Facinelli continued. “We shot pretty much the ending of the two movies the other day,” he added. “But we shoot until mid-April.” We’ve got the Golden Globes covered! We got a murkily-shot view of Breaking Dawn ‘s butter-colored sex scene last week, but now a high-res version has landed here at the Movieline Terrordrome, and it has frankly made my Sunday. To my eyes, it looks like it came from one of those old-timey photography studios in the mall that your mom drags you and your sister to so you can dress up like sepia-toned Civil War hookers or something. Robert Pattinson Nears New Movie Deal, Faces Off Against Taylor Lautner

Robert Pattinson may have found his next movie. Sources say the actor is nearing a deal to star in Cosmopolis , a big screen version of a novel by Don De Lillo. Pattinson would anchor the film as Eric Packer, a billionaire whose business practices make him the target of assassins. The story takes place over a busy day for Packer, who has sex with two women and shoots at least one man in the book. Before Pattinson signs on, however, he must defeat an old friend/foe in the following Fashion Face-Off. Compare the looks of this stud and Taylor Lautner at last night’s People’s Choice Awards:

Robert Pattinson To Star In David Cronenberg’s ‘Cosmopolis’

‘Breaking Dawn’ heartthrob will play the lead in film adaptation of Don DeLillo’s futuristic novel. By Kara Warner Robert Pattinson Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Robert Pattinson has signed on for his first big post-“Twilight” lead role. The actor is set to star in David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis.” According to Deadline , Pattinson will play Eric Packer in the futuristic film, an adaptation of the novel by Don DeLillo. In the film version, Packer is described as “a financial wunderkind,” who risks his entire fortune to bet against Japan’s yen on a tumultuous day. His chancy move puts him in mortal danger. The flick is said to be “a drama that is a study of capitalism in a slightly futuristic metropolis.” The novel is a modern reinterpretation of James Joyce’s classic “Ulysses,” set in New York City in the year 2000, around the burst of the dot-com bubble. Most of the action in the book takes place over the course of one day, in the limousine Packer takes to his various errands. Other stars rumored to have signed up for the project include “Inception” star Marion Cotillard and Paul Giamatti. Deadline reported that Pattinson wanted the role because he is a big fan of Cronenberg’s work and an admirer of DeLillo’s books. The “Twilight” superstar is still hard at work on the vampire franchise. He’ll appear again as Edward Cullen in the two-part finale “Breaking Dawn,” the first of which opens in November. But up next, he’ll hit the big screen in the Depression-era romance “Water for Elephants,” alongside Reese Witherspoon. Acknowledging what millions of Pattinson fans already know, Witherspoon recently gushed to MTV News that her co-star is “extraordinarily attractive.” What do you think of Pattinson’s newest role? And now “Bel Ami” co-star Christina Ricci has confirmed what “Twilight” fans already surmised. “He’s a good kisser,” she explained to Rachael Ray on the TV chef’s talk show, according to US Weekly . “He’s a lovely human being also.” Sure, she isn’t complaining about Pattinson’s kissing skills, but Ricci was quick to point out that her feelings for the actor in real life aren’t very romantic. “He reminded me of my best friend’s little brothers growing up,” she said. “He’s just a silly, fun guy. We laughed a lot. He makes fun of himself all the time. He’s adorable.” Pattinson not only has his way with Ricci’s character in “Bel Ami,” but also Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and other notable actresses. In it, he stars as Georges Duroy, a morally ambiguous journalist who gradually rises from rags to riches among the Paris elite thanks to his various connections to powerful and wealthy mistresses. It’s based on the 1885 novel of the same name by French author Guy de Maupassant. Fans will also get to see Pattinson nude in the film , something he’s laughed off to MTV News in the past. “I think there’s a lot of my crack in it,” he laughed. “I think there’s quite a bit of nudity. … It was such a strange story.
