Robert Pattinson Dishes on Eclipse Make Out Scenes, Twihards

If you listen to tabloid rumors, Robert Pattinson has either dumped Kristen Stewart or is about to be dumped by Kristen Stewart. But if you listed to this Twilight Saga star himself, well, you won’t hear anything at all about his real-life relationship. Still, Parade was able to get Robert to open up about kissing Kristen – in Eclipse , at least. Check out the following excerpts from Pattinson’s recent interview with that publication: On Edward/Bella lip locks : “Kissing felt a little bit more natural in Eclipse , even if there was plenty of it. In New Moon and Twilight it was always like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna kill you if I kiss you’ or something. It was always kind of odd. But, in this one, they both understand their situation a lot more, which makes it easier. It’s the first time Kristen and I have been able to just act like a normal couple.” On Edward wanting to wait : “Nowadays, everyone just goes around screwing everyone for no reason. Edward doesn’t really want to sort of cheapen his relationship with Bella, even though she’s pushing him to go all the way. He’s got this certain idea of how it should go with the love of his life. He wants to do it right and not just follow his base instincts. I guess I’m a bit old fashioned in that way as well.” So… are he and Kristen dating? “I guess people like stories, that’s my basic conclusion. They just want everything in our lives to be like Twilight. The truth is… that I wish I had a few more hours of sleep today so I could think of a better answer.” On dealing with Twihards : “I kind of made the transition in my head of not being freaked out by it… when it happens so often to you, you kind of actually look at people’s faces and see that they’re enjoying themselves, and it makes everything so much easier to accept. Everything becomes a lot easier.” Pattinson also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this week. Robert Pattinson Says Life Without Music Is ‘Driving Me Crazy’

‘I’ve just bought a couple new guitars, and I’ve started trying to write things again,’ he tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Back in July 2008, “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke told MTV News that Robert Pattinson had plans to compose three songs for the vampire film’s soundtrack. As it turned out, only one RPattz track popped up on the album, but Twilighters were on notice: The Brit actor harbored some serious musical ambitions. “I was doing music before I started acting, so I still have bits and pieces, and I’ve been playing in Portland [during the shoot],” Pattinson told us on the “Twilight” set . “I’ve been trying to write an album for years and years.” Two years later, with the third installment of the franchise about to hit theaters, Pattinson has found himself frustratingly disconnected from that passion and without the time to listen to much music or write his own material. “I haven’t been [paying attention to music] for a while,” he told MTV News. “I don’t know why. I’ve just sort of not been listening to it. It’s so odd when that happens. You’re just like, ‘I’ve forgotten what everything is.’ ” Yet Pattinson refuses to let his musical talents go to waste, as he’s trying to dive back into songwriting mode. Stymieing those efforts are his jam-packed schedule of shooting and publicity; he’s in the midst of shooting “Water for Elephants” with Reese Witherspoon at the same time that he’s promoting “Eclipse.” “I’ve just bought a couple new guitars, and I’ve started trying to write things again,” he said. “But I never have any time, ever.” You can tell how perturbed Pattinson is by his inability to carve out time to play music. And you’ve got to hope he figures out a way to make music work within the confines of his hectic professional career, because right now, he’s bummed without music in his life. “It’s kind of driving me crazy,” he said. Robert Pattinson More Comfortable In ‘Eclipse’ Action Scenes Than ‘New Moon’

By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News “New Moon” introduced us to the shape-shifting wolf pack, the ferocious Volturi vampires and scene after scene of ass-kicking action. “I think that guys can definitely relate to the action-packed part of it and the fights that break out and all the special effects that will happen,” star Dakota Fanning said of the movie. But not all guys, it seems. Robert Pattinson himself confessed to MTV News that he never felt comfortable during those action sequences. “Normally I just feel so silly,” he said. “In ‘New Moon,’ I remember starting the fight with Taylor at the end. I felt like such a moron.” It’s not that Pattinson felt ill at ease throwing punches — it’s that his wardrobe was not exactly the sort of gear that made him feel like a badass action star. “You’re always wearing skinny jeans, a little blazer and a kind of woolen sweater and trying to act like you’re tough,” he laughed. “You just know it’s not going to happen.” Yet something must have happened to Pattinson in the months between wrapping “New Moon” in the spring of 2009 and the start of “Eclipse” filming in the fall, because the 24-year-old was much more relaxed when it came to shooting the action for the third installment in the “Twilight” franchise. Not that RPattz knows exactly what changed. “For some reason, I felt a lot more comfortable with the action stuff this time,” he said. That’s a good thing, since he had a ton of action scenes to shoot. You might even say Pattinson does three things in “Eclipse”: He runs around in action scenes, argues with Taylor Lautner and snuggles with Kristen Stewart. Robert Pattinson is the Anti-Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart is so uncomfortable with fame that she recently compared the paparazzi to rapists . Conversely, boyfriend Robert Pattinson is clearly enjoying his time in the spotlight. He’s not obnoxious about it at all, but in each interview Rob gives, he comes across as relaxed, jovial and simply amazed at what his life has become. Case in point: on Nightline last night, Pattinson joked that if he ever has kids and they want to go into acting, he’ll say: ‘Yeah, it’s great. You don’t have to do anything. Everything goes right.'” Asked about his mindset on fame, Robert could have been addressing Kristen directly when he said the key is to enjoy it, “rather than looking like it’s freaking you out and you want to leave.” It’s obvious Robert is following his own advice. See for yourself: Robert was also asked why the Twilight Saga is considered so sexy… even though Edward and Bella wait so long to have sex. That’s exactly the point, Rob replied: ”Anyone who likes the books, they all think they’re really sexy. They just like that moment before [sex]… the kind of tipping point before it goes over. I mean, everybody likes that. That’s the best part, for a relationship.” Yes, folks, Robert Pattinson just talked up the benefits of foreplay. Robert Pattinson Wants a Date, Better Body Than Taylor Lautner

Forget rumors about engagements and babies and other false tabloid reports concerning his love life. Robert Pattinson has far more basic desires: “I would like to go on a date,” he told Jenna Bush Hager this morning on Today . “I’m just saying. I’m just putting that out there. Because I never go on dates anymore.” If the actor is seeking company for said date, there are approximately 7.9 million THG readers that would take him up on the offer. While Robert can clearly get a date any time he wants it, the star’s other dream is unlikely to ever come true. Asked about his relationship with Taylor Lautner, Pattinson joked about the constant competition between the pair: “I want to have better hair than him. What is it with movie stars moonlighting as marketing geniuses? Earlier, it was Aubrey Plaza stumping for Super 8 — though, to be fair, Plaza just tweeted the following: “I’m not MarKEtinG SH*T! I just GOTTA know what’s indat BOXXXX ” — and now Robert Pattinson has come up with a surefire way to get people in the seats for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse . At a press conference today, when asked why people should see Eclipse , Pattinson offered the best reason he could think of: “Why not?”
