If you’ve been looking forward to seeing Olivia Wilde perm her hair and chomp down on a stunt dong, we’ve got some sad news. The sexy star of Cowboys & Aliens and Butter is now saying that she has passed on the role of Linda Lovelace in the upcoming biopic Lovelace . The news comes after Olivia said this summer that she was “seriously considering” the role, telling E! News that playing the XXX star “would be a tremendous honor. It’s such a cool role. She was a fascinating woman.” But while Olivia won’t be Deep Throat -ing any time soon, Linda’s fans still have some slappy news to hold their hammers to- nude Swedish star Malin Akerman is still on board for the competing biopic Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story, which is currently in pre-production. Maybe now that Lindsay Lohan (who was also up for the role) is a bona fide Playboy bunny, producers will finally return her calls. Her biopics aren’t due until next year, but skinema buffs can bone up on Linda Lovelace RIGHT NOW, here at MrSkin.com!
You may know Draya from her previous relationship with Chris Brown, seeing her on the covers of countless men’s magazines, music videos, or even from the controversy surrounding her arrest over “child endangerment” accusations. But now, we simply now Draya from her role on the newest season of “Basketball Wives, LA”. She’s the center of attention and the cause of all the drama on the show. From her groupie reputation, outspoken personality and desire to fit in the the other “wives”, it seems that this chick just can’t catch a break . I recently sat down with the model turned reality star to hear her side of the story and see just what really went down with her and the other girls on “Basketball Wives LA”. Take a look at what Draya had to say about her groupie reputation, being linked to famous men, new business ventures, dealing with the backstabbing and drama on the show and even her dating life. There’s definitely more to this girl than boobs, booty and a stripper pole! HelloBeautiful: A lot of people question why you’re on the cast of “Basketball Wives” considering that your not married or engaged to a baller. How did you really get hooked up with the cast? Draya: I met Gloria through an acting class. She was in LA trying to pursue her acting career and I was already involved in the acting world. We became friends and she introduced me to the group. HB: Since you’ve been on the show its been nothing but drama.. and its all been geared towards you.. why do you think that everybody loves to hate on you? Draya : I’ve tried to figure out a reason as to why they would sit around and talk about me all day. But I’m not 45 so I can’t put myself in that mentality. So I don’t know why they do it. I just don’t know. But I’m absolutely favored on the show. People have tried to understand me and understand where I’m coming from. That’s pretty much my whole point as to what I wanted to do. HB: So what happened between you and Laura in that boxing ring? Did you have any idea why she was taking all her anger and aggression out on you? Draya: I had no idea she had beef with me. I guess they planned for me and her to fight each other because when it was time to get in the ring with her, nobody wanted to go in. I’m the only one that shouldn’t have gotten into the ring because I’m the only that makes money off my face. I’m the one that has the most to lose. But I didn’t want to look like a punk so I got in. It was supposed to just be the techniques that we learned and he only showed us two punches and two kicks. She starts swinging like a bat out of hell so I’m thinking that this is a street fight now. She never said anything about it. What they didn’t show was that we went two rounds, like we fought for a while. It wasn’t just a beat down like it looks. HB: This week’s episode was crazy! The girls pulled up the police report from the situation with your son and attacked you! How did that feel? What was going through your mind during that confrontation? Draya: I just look at them like who has the time to do all that. I show these ladies nothing but a nice side of me. It’s not like I showed them any sneaky characteristics about myself for them to not trust me. Why would you look up something on someone who has been about all about positivity? Why would you want to find the bad? They went out of their way to try and find something. I knew that this was something that was going to come out and that it was going to be a topic. HB: Why did you want to be included in their “circle” so bad? Draya: I didn’t want to be included in their circle, I was just being friendly. They invited me to everything that I have showed up to. I wouldn’t try extra hard to be their friend. I got invited to places and I felt going would be nice. I didn’t know what they were saying behind the scenes or when they were together without me. I didn’t know any of that was taking place. As you see they hug and they’re nice and then everything takes a left turn. If you saw any of the bonus clips, where we’re talking about how I used to strip, we’re having a regular, friendly, laughable conversation and then all of a sudden it takes a left turn. It’s just really annoying. HB: Do things between you and the other girls eventually get better on the show? Draya: Things get better as far as what I’m trying to do. Our relationships go up and down and all around. Everybody goes through it with everybody. Just pay close attention. Do you still talk to any of the girls from the show? Draya: I still talk to Malaysia. I don’t really talk to the other girls unless it involves business. HB: Do you have any regrets from being on the show? Draya: No, I don’t have any regrets from being on the show because it’s helped my business. HB: Are you dating someone right now, and do you have a celeb crush? Draya: Yes, I am dating someone right now. I don’t have a celeb crush. I really don’t do that. HB: What do you have to say to people who call u a jump off? Do you feel like they have a valid point or are they just simply “haters”? Draya: I was dating people in the industry who are well known. I’m a normal girl that likes to date guys. If I was dating regular guys nobody would say anything its just because these guys are well known. I’m not just this sex crazed girl that people make me out to be. I’m really in LA working my butt off. I actually have a new business that’s coming soon and you can see more of that on the show. 5 Questions we always ask… What’s in your bag? Mascara, a million lollipops from the bank, lip gloss, jewelry ( in case I have to change it from day to night) If you were forced to get a tattoo, what would it be of? I have 11 tattoos already! But the most meaningful tattoos I have are my mom and my son’s name. Everything else is just artwork. What’s your vice and where do you go to get it? I have to be waxed all over! I go to this salon in LA. What’s one urge you get but never act on? I want to sing in public but I’m always too shy to do it in front of my friends! I can do it in front of strangers but not my friends because they’ll judge me! When was the last time you cried? The episode that just aired this week was the last time I cried, and that was two months ago. Fantasia may not get to play the role of Mahalia Jackson after all. Members of the legendary gospel singer’s estate are appalled that Fanny is pregnant and and not married, according to the NY Post . Also, producers are reportedly upset that she didn’t reveal her pregnancy until she was four months along and instead claimed she was “putting on weight” for the role. Executive producer of the film Adrian Taylor said: “The family thinks if Fantasia plays the role, it’s going to sully the name of Mahalia. They think she’s got the wrong image, having a child out of wedlock.” As if having a baby with a married man hasn’t ruined Fanny’s rep already, now it’s ruining Mahalia’s. ‘It’s such a grand movie, and John is in every shot of this film,’ actor says. By Kevin Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Kitsch in “John Carter” Photo: Disney Not just anyone can be John Carter . Taylor Kitsch found that out the hard way while auditioning for the role, his first blockbuster as the lead. And even though he had been unfamiliar with the John Carter books before, the role was, according to Kitsch, something he was “willing to do anything for.” In the upcoming adaption of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ beloved “A Princess of Mars,” Kitsch plays a Civil War veteran who finds himself transported to another planet. The Martians task Carter with saving the planet and rescuing the captive princess, played by Lynn Collins. The production finally came together recently after lingering in development for years and losing Jon Favreau, who was once attached to direct. The journey began by meeting with the director Andrew Stanton , best known for his work on Pixar films. “I knew of Stanton, of course, and I was a huge fan,” Kitsch says. “He was a big fan of Riggins, my ‘Friday Night Lights’ character, so right away we kind of pushed each other because we were so excited about just meeting one another.” After their initial meeting, Stanton took Kitsch through some of the preproduction work that the director and his team had already finished. “It’s literally floor-to-ceiling in prep and pictures, storyboards, arc of John Carter, arc of the Tharks, Dejah,” Kitsch said. “It’s not overwhelming, but it’s like, OK, this guy’s not screwing around.” That first meeting was just the beginning for Kitsch. The producers put him through “a lot,” but he understood that it all needed to happen. “It’s such a grand movie, and John is in every shot of this film, so of course it’s a big gap. You go on film, and you read for him a couple times and then you get to the screen test and you’re starting to battle through this,” Kitsch said. But Stanton was there for his eventual star every step of the way, especially during the two-day screen test. “This really says a lot about who he is. He takes you the day before and does a walkthrough,” Kitsch said. “He just puts everything level when you get there on the day. That just helped me settle in a lot.” Check out everything we’ve got on “John Carter.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Before checking out Taylor Lautner’s first post-‘Twilight’ lead role, peruse our handy guide. By Kara Warner Lily Collins and Taylor Lautner in “Abduction” Photo: Lionsgate All right, Taylor Lautner fans: Today is the day you’ve been waiting for! The actor’s action-packed thriller “Abduction” has officially opened. Here at MTV News, we’ve been as excited as anyone for the 19-year-old’s first post-“Twilight” lead role, and we’ve been following the film since it was announced. Take a look through our hand-crafted guide to the John Singleton-directed film, as we present everything you need to know about “Abduction”: A New Action Star Is Born The buzz around the film began way back in February 2010, when Lionsgate Entertainment announced that Lautner would be starring in a film about a young man who sets out to learn who he really is after finding his baby picture posted on a missing-persons website. Shortly thereafter, a slew of name players were added to the cast, including Lily Collins, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Maria Bello and Alfred Molina . Just before production began in Pittsburgh, MTV News caught up with Lautner to learn about the intense training and prep work he was doing for the role, which included boxing, fight training, learning to ride a motorcycle and swimming. Selling His Strengths Once production wrapped, the promotion machine ramped up and we got our first look at photos of Lautner on set , in character and in action. One of our best pre-release moments came back in April when we were very lucky to snag an early look at the first official trailer , as well as an exclusive sit-down with Lautner during “MTV First: Taylor Lautner.” We heard trailer commentary straight from the source, as well as the challenges he faced during filming, his kissing scenes with Collins and whether he got any bumps or bruises from all the stunt work. Skills to Pay the Bills It was not long before we caught up with Lautner again in San Diego, during our Comic-Con Takeover, where we learned which seasoned Hollywood pros Lautner looked to for inspiration during filming, why Lautner was so committed to the role and how the film is different from other action thrillers out there. With about a month left before opening day, we got our first look at Lautner’s stunt work , and then we gleaned a few steamy details about a certain kissing scene from Lautner’s leading lady in the film. Collins also revealed key details about her character, Karen, and how she gets pulled into the cat-and-mouse chase with Lautner’s character, Nathan. When we caught up with the entire cast at the film’s premiere, we learned that kissing scenes are as challenging as action scenes , the young actors carried their acting weight as much as the seasoned pros, and everyone had a blast making the film. Oh and that Lautner always makes time for his fans . Ever heard the saying, “Stay ready, so you don’t have to get ready?” . . . Well, with the ambush of earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis and tornadoes we’ve experienced since the beginning of the year, you should’ve seen enough by now to know how devastating the effects of any disaster – natural or man-made, can be. Since January, FEMA has confirmed over 80 major disaster declarations in the United States alone. Regardless of whether you live in a typical disaster zone or not, the reality is you are now fair game for experiencing one. So, the question is whether you’ll take steps now to safe guard your family in case of emergency or wait until disaster actually strikes. President Obama declared September as National Preparedness Month , appropriately so as the 10th anniversary of 9/11 lingers. In his proclamation, the President encouraged “all Americans to recognize the importance of preparedness and observe this month by working together to enhance our national security, resilience, and readiness.” When preparing for a natural disaster, the necessities that usually come to mind are food, water and shelter. While physical safety is definitely a primary concern, few tend to think of finances as the next major priority. So, in addition to checking out sites like www.ready.gov for physical preparedness, below you’ll find a few tips to get your financial house in order in case of catastrophe. 1. Get it together. The last thing you want to do in the event of an emergency is scurry through papers in your kitchen’s junk drawer. Create a filing system that allows you to get all of your documents together in one, organized place. 2. Take inventory. Maintain an updated inventory of all valuables along with serial numbers, warranty information, photos, and even videos, if possible. Some people walk through their home with a video camera to document everything. Having an inventory is going to save you lots of headaches in the event of a disaster which produces subsequent insurance claims. Remember, however, to keep the list, photos and videos off-site for obvious reasons. READ MORE Is It Time To Start Christmas Shopping? 10 Ways To Avoid Overdraft Fees
Annie Ilonzeh is one tough cookie. After an exhausting 15 hour shoot the night before, the actress still manages to find the time to sign up for an early Saturday morning phone interview to chat about her role as Kate Prince in the iconic “Charlie’s Angels” franchise. After getting her feet wet in the biz as Maya Ward on daytime sudser “General Hospital”, the stunning biracial beauty now has the distinction of being the very first African-American “Angel.” Not bad for a girl from Grapevine, Texas, whose strict Nigerian father gave her an ultimatum: to make it as an actress in Hollywood in one year, or come back home. Ilonzeh shares her intense audition process, working with Hollywood powerhouse Drew Barrymore, and why she proudly waves her “curly girl” flag high with The Urban Daily . Tell us about your character Kate Prince on “Charlie’s Angels.” Kate Prince is an ex-cop detective turned dirty. And now Charlie has given her a second chance as an Angel, an attempt at redemption. Throughout the series, her overall objection is to seek redemption. She also has other motivations like trying to seek validation and seek approval from the other Angels and Bosley. And then her ex-fiance (Isaiah Mustufa) pops into the picture, which creates all this new tension. What was the audition process like? I was given the opportunity to audition back in November 2010. I didn’t have a script but the Charlie’s Angels franchise is iconic. When I read the breakdown of the character I fell in love with the project immediately. I found so many similarities between Kate and myself: we’re both athletic, both very strong mentally. There’s also the relationship Kate has with the other Angels—and I come from a family with four sisters, so I understand the sisterhood. We’re also the same in knowing we have flaws, that we make mistakes and using those experiences to turn it into something positive. So between Fall 2010 and February 2011 I had about six auditions. I finally landed the part and started shooting in March. It was a tough process but like Kate, it shows that we’re tough and we don’t give up. Drew Barrymore is the Executive Producer of the series–have you met her? How involved has she been in this project? Drew is very involved. She was there at every one of my auditions. She was very charming and would give me suggestions. She’s a very good director and it’s a pleasure working with her. She’s like that veteran Angel and you look up to her. What kind of training did you have to undergo to prepare for the role? A lot, actually. I’m a gym rat; I”ll lift weights or hit the treadmill. I like to explore different types of extreme exercising. For this role we had to do specific training like martial arts, scuba diving and gun training. My character’s specialty is martial arts so she knows kung-fu, jujitsu That was really different for me because I come from a basketball background. So I had to change the muscle memory. The gun training was fun though. As my co-star Minka Kelly likes to say “We’re trained assassins now!” Do you think your newfound combat skills would allow you to defend yourself if you ever found yourself in danger in real life? At the end of the day you never never if you’re going to go into flight or fight mode but I would definitely be more confident in defending myself. You are the first African-American angel in the “Charlie’s Angels” franchise. What kind of responsibility do you feel in the representation of black women on television? In the beginning I didn’t really think about it. My mother is White and my father emigrated here from Nigeria, so I didn’t look at it color wise. I don’t see a distinction between myself, Minka and Rachael (Taylor). It took me a while to realize it is an accomplishment. It’s great to set a stage to tell women that no matter your color or nationality, you can do it. I want African-Americans to know that with Obama in office, there’s no ceiling anymore. Sometimes it might feel like that, but we have to keep pushing and that’s what makes us strong as a people. Let’s talk about the hair. When you landed the role of Kate Prince, was there ever a discussion in how you would wear your hair? Yeah, we did talk about it like “So, what can we do with this kind of hair?” Women are embracing their natural hair, which is great, but we don’t always do that as African-American women. Sometimes we’ll perm it or put some tracks in it, which is awesome because we like play and explore. I wear my hair natural, but I have a few pieces I’ll use when I go undercover on the show. But the producers want me to wear my hair natural, to be true to Annie, instead of washing me into a different person, of what society thinks is more appealing. As a black actress in Hollywood, What would you say to women who are worried about not being accepted or seen as beautiful when wearing their hair in its natural state? I would say go for it. You see women who shave their head and think that is the most beautiful thing. You should wear your hair however you feel comfortable. You might see a woman with long straight flowing hair down her back and there might be a little African-American girl who knows her hair will never grow that long. If you’ve got a mini-fro or a kitchen in the back, if you want to put a little heat on it, just embrace it and keep it movin’. I wake up with dreds some mornings because my hair locks up, but I just work with it. You’re never going to please everyone, so you should find your own beauty. When I heard that Kristin Cavallari was going to be on this season of Dancing With The Stars , I knew exactly what her role would be, arm candy. That’s it. But I’ve got to hand it to her dance partner, he’s a real professional, he knows what he’s working with… A really hot chick with very little talent, but we already knew that. Anyhow, he was smart to do all the dancing and let Kristin just stand there, look hot and shake her cute little booty from time to time. Know your role princess. Kristin Cavallari DWTS Video
