A source tells People magazine that their relationship ‘ended last month.’ By Kara Warner Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift in New York City on November 25 Photo: INF Just when everyone was getting excited about how long Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift would last as a couple come reports that they are no longer together. According to People, Gyllenhaal and Swift have not been together for quite some time. “They’re over,” a source told the mag about the short-lived relationship. “It ended last month.” Gyllenhaal and Swift started the rumor mill churning with whispers of their romance back in October, when they both showed up to support pal Emma Stone when she hosted “Saturday Night Live.” After that, the lovebirds were spotted together in Brooklyn then laughing and getting ice cream sundaes in Big Sur, California. Things heated up in the media when reports surfaced that Gyllenhaal had allegedly dropped $150,000 to fly swift to the U.K. to hang out with him while he promoted “Love & Other Drugs.” Then, at Thanksgiving, “Jaylor” reportedly spent the holiday with Gyllenhaal’s sister, Maggie, and her husband, Peter Sarsgaard. Despite all the reports of the pair having been seen together, taking trips, etc., neither Swift nor Gyllenhaal ever commented on the supposed romance. The most we got from the country star was that her rumored boyfriend’s latest movie “Love & Other Drugs” was “good.” “I write in great detail about my personal life,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “But I don’t talk about it.” If “Swiftenhaal” are indeed no more, perhaps the actor and pop star are the first victims of the predicted fallout from “mistletoe syndrome,” a phenomenon that occurs from roughly November through February, often brought on by the warm fuzzy feelings surrounding the holidays. By Terri Schwartz Elton John Photo: Tim Boyles/Getty Images Elton John received a better Christmas present than most on Saturday when he and his husband, David Furnish, became proud parents of an adopted baby boy they named Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John. The “Benny and the Jets” singer has now spoken with UsMagazine.com about how it feels to have his longtime desire to become a father come true. “For many years we have talked about fulfilling one of our greatest wishes by becoming parents,” he said. “And now this wish has been granted to us, we feel so blessed and lucky.” While many celebrities are ringing in the New Year with engagement news , John and Furnish celebrated Christmas with the arrival of the 7-pound, 15-ounce baby, which was delivered by an unidentified surrogate. This is the first child for John, 63. A joint statement released by John and Furnish on Monday announced, “Zachary is healthy and doing well. [We are] overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment.” John and Furnish had attempted to adopt an HIV-positive 14-month-old boy from the Ukraine last year, but were prevented by government officials because of the pop icon’s age and marital status. But that didn’t turn the British singer away from his dream to become a father. He and Furnish hired a surrogate for the pregnancy, though they are keeping those details private. This may be the couple’s first child, they are no strangers when it comes to kids. John and his husband serve as godparents to a combined six children, including John Lennon’s son Sean, Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damien, and David and Victoria Beckham’s sons Brooklyn and Romeo. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage OK, so Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez aren’t kissing and telling when it comes to the status of their relationship, and they’re also not kissing and snapping photos. When a picture leaked online of what appeared to be the teen stars caught in a lip-lock, fans began to wonder if perhaps the rumors of their romance were true. But a rep for Bieber told Celebuzz that the photo, which originally appeared on Bieber fan site Bieber Heiress , is a fake. The rep added that they hope “no one is actually paying money for that photo” since the couple in the photo are not actually Bieber and Gomez. But those aren’t the only rumors circulating about Justin and Selena. E! News reports that the pair were seen hanging out in Miami ordering room service at the Gansevoort Hotel, where Bieber was staying under the alias Chandler Bing , Matthew Perry’s character from “Friends.” They reportedly ordered some late-night food from STK on December 18 at around 1 a.m. The two were spotted in the hallway of the hotel. What did they drink with their meal? Pepsi and ginger ale. Bieber recently tweeted about rumors , writing, “Chillin and happy. Its been a fun year with a lot of blessings. Some crazy rumors but so much love and memories. We r just gettin started!! So enjoy the holidays. Get crazy and have some laughs. Life is too short. On Tuesday (December 28), a rep for the star announced that Witherspoon is engaged to Hollywood agent boyfriend Jim Toth, according to Us Weekly. “They are extremely happy,” Witherspoon’s rep told the magazine. The couple, who have been dating for the past year, went public with their romance earlier this year after Witherspoon called it quits with Jake Gyllenhaal. Toth, 40, works at Los Angeles’ Creative Artists Agency, a prominent entertainment and sports agency where the 34-year-old actress is a client; however, Toth does not represent Witherspoon. Earlier this month, a source told People that Toth was insistent that Witherspoon is his ideal woman. “Jim knows she’s the one,” a source said. “They’re a perfect match.” Reese spoke about wedding bells in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, saying, “My mom always texts me, like, ‘Are you getting married?’ I’m like, ‘Mom, come on! You would know if I was getting married.’ ” This marks the second marriage for Witherspoon, who has two children (Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7) with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. By Jocelyn Vena Akon Photo: Matt Jelonek/ Getty Images This past weekend on “Saturday Night Live,” Akon joined the Lonely Island guys in a hilarious video for a new song called “I Just Had Sex,” in which the singer proudly sings his own name, as well as the group’s. , meanwhile also got self-referential at the VMAs, when she Auto-Tuned her way through a pre-taped bit with Best New Artist nominee Jason Derulo. And, to be fair, we here at MTV News have been obsessed with pop stars singing their own names in songs for the bulk of 2010, prompted by Derulo’s epic use of the device in several of his hits. Folks like Derulo, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj (“Right Thru Me”), Kanye West (“Dark Fantasy”) and, obviously, Akon join a list of two decades’ worth of pop artists who have taken it upon themselves to brand their tracks with their own names. In the ’80s, stars like Janet Jackson, Beastie Boys and New Kids on the Block proudly proclaimed who they were in their songs. Moving into the ’90s, “TRL” staples such as the Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Lopez, Kid Rock and Eminem all blasted their monikers on their tracks, letting fans know just who was singing or rapping through hits like Rock’s “Bawitdaba” and BSB’s “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).” As the new millennium approached and the musical landscape became more and more flooded with pop stars, it became a regular practice, with everyone from Ciara to M.I.A. to Fergie to Beyonc

The Atlanta rapper’s home was raided by police on Thursday for an investigation reportedly related to weapons, drugs and prostitution. The MC’s mother and manager, Deb Antney, has denied to MTV News that prostitution was a factor in the raid, and on Saturday, Waka batted away allegations that he is involved in any type of illegal activity. During a sit-down with radio station Hot 93.7 in Hartford, Connecticut, the “O Let’s Do It” rapper, who wasn’t at home at the time of the raid, described how he learned his place had been busted by authorities. “I had to go to court for a little traffic ticket for driving too fast. I was coming out the court, I had to use the bathroom. So my road manager G-Boy, he’s like, ‘Ay, man, police just raided the house.’ I’m like, ‘What? What they want? They want to find some CDs? What they comin’ in there for?’ ” he said. The rapper denied he was involved in any shady dealings, maintaining he has no plans to juggle life in the streets and the spotlight. “Why would I rap and go try to street gang bang? That’s hustling backwards. Why would I wanna rap all around the world and then go hit the streets and gang bang? I’m a rapper, I’m not a [gang-banger.] How can you gang bang and be a rapper? I don’t understand that,” he said. “I would love to find out where their information is coming from. I can’t wait.” He also swatted away Web rumors that one of his associates, who reportedly appeared in a video that was making the rounds in the blogosphere, tipped off police. “That ain’t true. Hey, this is the internet. I don’t know what’s going on, I didn’t even see [the video], keep it gangsta,” Waka said. The MTV News “Hottest MCs” pick pointed to the breakout success of the past year as one of the main reasons he plans to keep his business out of the streets. “I’m good. I dropped the album, Flockaveli, doing numbers. ‘No Hands,’ I think it’s platinum or it’s on the road to be. I’m in the top three albums of the year, ’cause I don’t know nobody selling past me and Gucci and probably Wayne or Nicki and West or somebody or Ross. Other than that, these folks is losing out here,” he said. “I’m good, I got shows every week. I’m straight. Team good, I’m eatin’. The superstar’s Monster Ball Tour was slated to hit Paris’ Bercy venue on Sunday (December 19), but severe weather derailed the pop megastar’s plans. According a translation of a press release posted on the theater’s website , Gaga’s Sunday show was cancelled because of a ban barring heavy vehicles over 7.5 tons from hitting the road in dicey conditions. Gaga tweeted that French authorities had taken custody of her caravan for over a day and arrested two members of her camp when the crew arrived for the Paris date. “All 28 of my trucks for the Monsterball were detained by the French government going on over 26 hrs, 2 of my employees were arrested trying to get into Paris so we could perform,” she tweeted . “I am furious and devastated, its unfair to my fans and to me.” Gaga added that she tried to tone down the theatrics but was told a lack of production resources ruled out the option of a simpler version of the elaborate stage show. “I asked if I could do a stripped version of show, but there would be no sound or power source, its all been detained,” she wrote . “I’m so sorry,angry+sad.” The songstress, who famously hates ditching appearances , apologized for not being able to hit the stage. “I love Paris + I love my French fans. I’m sorry little monsters. A photo of storm, I’m stuck on bus,” she wrote, tweeting a snapshot of the grey weather.
