The Situation’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Skills: Ronnie Weighs In

‘Mike has legs, so does a chair — it doesn’t mean the chair can dance, right?’ ‘Jersey Shore’ castmate quips. By Eric Ditzian Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and his partner Karina Smirnoff on “Dancing With The Stars” Photo: ABC Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino barely escaped with his reality-show life Tuesday evening on “Dancing With the Stars.” Only Michael Bolton and his gangly jive saved Sitch’s hide from elimination, as the “Jersey Shore” star will live to toe-tap another week. Perhaps the Situation has one of his castmates to thank, because Ronnie has vowed to vote for his roommate — regardless of his actual dancing talents. “I’m going to support him in every way,” Ronnie told MTV News. “I’m going to send him a text, the vote text. I’ll vote for Mike. “I’ll send, like, three texts — it’s like $1.50,” he added with a sly smile. “How much you really want me to spend on you, Mike?” On second thought, the Situation might want to hold off on a thank-you and tell Ronnie to start texting votes with the same enthusiasm he reserved for flirting with Jell-O-shot-serving waitresses early this season on “Shore.” But Ronnie might not be so convinced Mike has what it takes to win “DWTS.” “Mike has legs, so does a chair — it doesn’t mean the chair can dance, right?” Ronnie reasoned. Ouch. Ronnie’s off-and-on gal pal Sammi was considerably more kind when we asked her about the Situation’s skills. “He can’t really dance, but I know he can fist-pump,” she said during an earlier interview. “We’ll support him,” Vinny told us. And that’s exactly what Ronnie made clear to us too. After all the good-natured razzing he threw the Situation’s way, he told us he’ll be pulling for his roomie to win. “I know he’s going to try his best and do the best of his ability, and he’s going to represent the ‘Jersey Shore’ family,” he said. ‘Jersey Shore’ Star Snooki Wants A Nice ‘Business Italian Guy’

‘I’m thinking Usher,’ Snooks says of potential boyfriends on ‘Ellen.’ By Sabrina Rojas Weiss The cast of “Jersey Shore” on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Photo: Warner Bros. Snooki’s recent trouble with love and the law were a hot topic when she and her fellow “Jersey Shore” castmates JWoww, Pauly D, the Situation, Sammi, Vinny and Ronnie stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday (September 14). The rest of the cast was very protective of their diminutive roommate, and they vowed to make sure she doesn’t get her heart broken again. “Because of her celebrity she drew a crowd,” JWoww said of what led to Snooki’s arrest for being a public nuisance. And Pauly D, who pointed out that he has other friends who do much worse on the Shore, added, “It just so happens the spotlight was on her.” Snooki, for her part, says that she and her roommates often lead quieter lives than what’s portrayed on the show. Rather than go to clubs all the time, sometimes, she said, “I’ll go to frickin Barnes and Nobles, get a coffee and just sit and read.” And with ex Emilio kicked to the curb , it sounds like she’s looking for a new partner for her calmer side. “I definitely want to move to Brooklyn and get a business Italian guy,” she declared. Pauly D offered to help her choose the right one. “I’m gonna screen them,” he said. “I think it should be not strictly a business guy, not strictly a juicehead. In between.” “I’m thinking Usher,” Snooki suggested of the R&B star who performed on Ellen’s stage just before the cast was interviewed. Dance enthusiast DeGeneres also asked about the Situation’s upcoming appearance on “Dancing With the Stars.” “It’s not the fist-pumping, MC Hammer two-step that I’m used to in the club,” he admitted. And JWoww couldn’t resist adding her prediction. “I’ve seen him dance, so I’m a little concerned.” Watch season two of “Jersey Shore” Thursday nights at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.

‘Jersey Shore’ Stars Ronnie, Vinny Tease Season Three

‘The authenticity of us being home, it’s right back at you,’ Ronnie says of return to Seaside Heights. By Kyle Anderson, with reporting by James Montgomery “Jersey Shore” stars Vinny Guadagnino and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Photo: MTV News For “Jersey Shore” fans, this past Sunday night was an amazing evening. Not only did a brand-new episode air before the Video Music Awards pre-show, but the cast was all over the white carpet and continued to pop up again during the main show. Having just wrapped the third season of the “Shore” — the gang heads back to the friendly confines of Seaside Heights, New Jersey in this installment — MTV News caught up with Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and new castmate Deena Cortese to get some scoop on the next season, which includes a few run-ins with the law . “We just finished [season three], and we’re good law-abiding citizens,” Vinny told us. “Some people break laws, but it’s on camera, so everything that happens, you guys see. But we’re the same kind of human beings as anybody.” Ronnie, who was arrested last month as a result of several unpaid parking tickets, shrugged it off. “I had a parking ticket. It was nonsense. I can’t run for governor now!” he joked. But what can viewers expect from the third season likely premiering some time later this year? “The best things you liked about us in season one, the authenticity of us being home, it’s right back at you in season three,” Ronnie said. “You’ll just have to watch to find out.” Cortese also played “Shore” details close to the vest. “I don’t want to give anything away,” she said. “But there’s a lot more comedy this year.” What are you hoping to see in the third season of “Jersey Shore”? ‘Jersey Shore’ Star The Situation Vs. Taylor Lautner: Who Has Better Abs?

‘There can only be one Situation,’ the Situation himself says of the showdown. By Josh Wigler Michael “The Situation” Sorrentino and Josh Horowitz on the 2010 Movie Awards red carpet Photo: MTV News Fans of the “Twilight” franchise must pick a side: either Team Edward or Team Jacob. But the hunky werewolf’s loyalists might want to make room on their plate for a completely different rivalry: Team Jacob vs. Team Situation? While walking the red carpet at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards , “Jersey Shore” castmates Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Michael “The Situation” Sorrentino were asked to weigh in on which star had the better “situation” going on: the “Jersey Shore” star or Taylor Lautner. For Ronnie, it’s not even a question who has the better shirtless situation: “You’ve got to go with the Situation, the original.” But the Situation himself seemed to be looking for a humble and amicable resolution. Instead, he offered: “You know what? The Situation is called the Situation for a reason. There can only be one Situation.” It’s hard to say whether Ronnie and the Situation’s opinions reflect those of the rest of the “Jersey Shore” cast, as Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino told MTV News earlier in the night that they’re fans of the “Twilight” actors. “I’m a fan of them,” Pauly D revealed, with Vinny adding: “I wish everybody success. We’re both doing our thing right now, and we’re both guests at the MTV Movie Awards. Can’t ask for anything more than that, you know?” They might feel that way now, but what if they were asked who had the better hair between Pauly and RPattz? That would be a whole different “situation” altogether. Ronnie James Dio Remembered At Pearl Jam, Kiss Concerts

Singer is also mourned by onetime Dio guitarist Doug Aldrich and Saxon frontman Bill Byford. By Kelley L. Carter Ronnie James Dio Photo: Marty Temme/WireImage Kiss’ Paul Stanley cupped the microphone in his hand and stood in the middle of the stage, pointing toward the sky. “Let’s make sure he can hear us up there,” the guitarist said, leading thousands of fans in a chant during a Kiss concert in Geneva, Switzerland, on Monday night. “Ronnie! Ronnie! Ronnie! Ronnie! We love you and we miss you!” It was one of many tributes paid to legendary heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio , who died on Sunday of stomach cancer. He was 67. A number of metal artists and their fans sent condolences to the former Black Sabbath singer. Widely regarded as one of the most recognizable voices in metal, Dio also performed with Rainbow, Elf and his own solo band. “We mourn the tragic passing of the great Ronnie James Dio,” Kiss bandmembers said in a statement. “In addition to his powerhouse vocal ability, Ronnie was a true gentleman who always emanated great warmth and friendship to us and everyone around him. We will miss him.” Other groups, like Pearl Jam, let Dio’s music do the talking. About 45 minutes before the their concert was to begin in Boston, house speakers blasted music spanning Dio’s career, and during a performance of Pearl Jam’s “Alive,” the band closed the song with riffs from Black Sabbath’s “Heaven and Hell” single. Guitarist Doug Aldrich, who once played with Dio, described the singer as a giant. “I was blessed to share some music with him, but mostly, I am thankful his friendship,” Aldrich said in a statement. “Ronnie was a good-hearted, caring man. He brought so much happiness through his music. Thank you, Ronnie, for the gifts you shared with us. Ronnie made magic, and Ronnie was and will always be golden.” Saxon frontman Biff Byford also released a statement on Sunday, saying “today I heard my friend Ronnie Dio has lost his battle.
