Former Publicist Admits Fabricating Jay Z And Rihanna Cheating Rumor Rihanna’s former publicist has come out to publicly apologize for single-handedly creating the major rumor that has chased the starlet since the early days of her career. Jonathan Hay, who worked with Rihanna in the very beginning of her push to fame, admitted to planting the story that Jay Z was carrying on a secret illicit affair with his new young signee. Hay wrote in an e-mail to the New York Daily News that he had already apologized to Jay Z, and more recently to Beyonce for making up the story that rocked their relationship and branded a scarlet letter on RihRih’s chest for years to come. The confession comes as he was recently outed in a new unofficial tell-all on Beyonce’s personal life, set to hit shelves soon. “I was blindsided by the news of ‘Becoming Beyoncé’ coming out and it couldn’t come at a worse time for me. I’m currently releasing projects with my label Urban Hitchcock through Tidal, a company that is owned by Jay Z and Beyoncé … Hopefully this news hasn’t ruined that relationship for me.” Well we’re willing to bet it AT LEAST put a strain on things… especially seeing as how he got the ball rolling on a year-long split between the power couple. SMH. But why did he make this isht up in the first place? Hay says he was just super-desperate to get “Pon de Replay” popping back when Rihanna was just the new little island girl on the block at Roc Nation. “The pr stunt that I did was out of desperation to help break ‘Pon de Replay.’ It was reckless and I didn’t think it was going to work. I was just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what would stick. I didn’t think it would be this big story. But now, seeing Beyoncé on the cover of this book and knowing that people are profiting from speculations and opinions about her really turns my stomach. I’m ashamed that I’m even talking about this. I just want to put this rumor to rest once and for all.” He SHOULD be ashamed!! This man could have legitimately broken up a marriage while playing games to get spins. It will be interesting to see how far his career goes now that everyone knows he made up such a major lie to garner popularity for his artist.
