The highly anticipated film continues to be a serious competitor in our Movies Brawl 2012 , we’ve featured three of the castmembers as part of our select group of Ones to Watch this year, and now we’re rolling out the first part of three lengthy interviews with Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. All questions were submitted via Twitter by you, the fans. The first batch features talk of hilarious on-set pranks, injuries and some details about the arena. Minor spoilers ahead for those who haven’t read the books! Be sure to check back here next week for part two of our interviews. @jjusan : I’ve heard a lot about pranking on the set… tell us one of the things that happened! Josh Hutcherson : They had a full life-sized dummy of one of our tributes that had gotten killed by a Tracker Jacker, and basically it’s all swollen and gnarly-looking and mangled, and Jennifer was out of her trailer so I took the dummy and put it inside her bathroom in her trailer. I wasn’t there for the big moment when she saw it, which I can’t believe I missed, but I’ve been told that she actually peed her pants in reaction to it. So, I was pretty proud of myself and amazed that someone actually peed their pants in fear, because I didn’t know that happened. Jennifer Lawrence : Pranks. Oh yeah, Josh, he took the dummy from one of the tributes that dies from the Tracker Jackers’ sting that is completely deformed and put it on my toilet, shut the door and [had it] holding a toilet paper roll, just for added effect. I’m in my trailer and open the bathroom door and scream and my friend grabs me and had to say “It’s fake, it’s fake, it’s fake!” I hate him. I still haven’t gotten him back for that, actually. I don’t know what to do to get him back for something like that. I’d have to find a real dead body. Liam Hemsworth : Jennifer would often try and make you laugh just before “Action.” She’d say something funny. She’d get you and really surprise you, though, because you’d be rolling up, ready for them to say “Action,” and she’d ask you some silly question about something. You’d hear it and be like, “Wait, what?” And then “Action” and you’d be like “OK. Thanks for that.” It’s funny to her, I guess. @PRIMdelenaTVD : What can you tell us about the arena? What was it like? Hutcherson : The arena is a giant. It’s a forest, pretty much. We shot it in the mountains of North Carolina, just outside of Asheville, and it’s pretty cool. The terrain we had to get through to get our cameras and equipment there was impressive that we even got it made in time. It looks amazing on film, too. @OttoRivera : Have you met Suzanne Collins? Lawrence : I have, she’s wonderful. That was, I think, the most nervous I’ve ever been meeting a person because I kept thinking, “What if she doesn’t like me?” But I did meet her, and she’s fantastic. @HGTribute_Manda :What’s the most difficult scene to shoot? Hutcherson :The cave scene for me, where Katniss and Peeta are in the cave after Katniss has rescued Peeta more or less, was tough to shoot, also my favorite scene to shoot because we didn’t have a lot of time. We had a lot of scene to get through and a lot of character arc to get through, so for me that was really fun but also a really big challenge. @eringabin : Did you get any injuries during filming? Lawrence : Yeah. There was the trees, there was tree climbing, getting scratched up by trees. My back started getting weird, I think from all the running downhill, so I had to go to the chiropractor once a week, which is terrifying . I’ve never been to a chiropractor before and it just feels like they’re going to snap your neck at any moment. There were some ankle and knee [injuries] but you don’t have time to be injured. The look on the producer’s face if I say “ow” is awful, so I tried to just kind of stay quiet about it. Horrible Bosses was a srprise hit comedy about three guys whose bosses were the things workplace nightmares are made of. The three friends decide they are going to kill their respective bosses. They seek out a black guy, played by Jamie Foxx , to figure out the perfect way to kill them. After hearing that, naturally, you’d say, “That film sounds like it needs another installment!” No? You probably would if you were a Hollywood studio executive. According to Film Drunk , screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have signed on to write the sequel to Horrible Bosses . The two wrote the first film and New Line Cinema was more than happy to have them return. Jason Sudeikis , Jason Bateman , and Charlie Day are all expectedto reprise their roles. New Line is also in talks to get Seth Gordon to use his directorial magic on the second installment as he did with the first one. Although this sounds good on paper, how is that going to work? Are all three of the characters going to find new jobs with worse bosses than before or will a change of setting be the only thing to refresh the story? We’ll see soon enough. Country star has reportedly been offered the role of Eponine. By Jocelyn Vena Taylor Swift imagined in the role of Eponine in the Broadway version of “Les Miserables” Photo: Broadway/ MTV News The cast of “Les Miserables” is really shaping up to be the quite A-list one. With folks like Anne Hathaway , Russell Crowe, Helena Bonham Carter and Hugh Jackman already onboard for the big-screen adaptation of the stage show, word comes that both Taylor Swift and Amanda Seyfried are deep in talks for roles in the film. Universal has offered Swift the role of Eponine and Seyfried the part of Cosette, Broadwayworld.com has confirmed. Who would fill these roles had been widely speculated since Lea Michele, Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood were all in the running. The website says rehearsals start later this month, so official casting news should come down the pipeline soon. The flick is slated to start shooting in May with Tom Hooper directing. It’s expected to be released on December 7, 2012. When Swift spoke to MTV News at the launch of her Wonderstruck perfume, she teased she was working on “some surprise projects that may or may not happen, and possibly some acting.” “I’ve just been so excited about what’s gonna happen in the next year,” she said. “I’m also really excited about [the next album]. I’ve been writing all the time. I’ve been writing so much for the new record. I can’t believe I’m saying that already. It comes out in a year, but I’m already excited about it.” Seyfried displayed her singing chops in another Broadway-to-screen adaptation. She landed the lead in “Mamma Mia!” back in 2008. Julianne Moore’s transformation into Sarah Palin in the HBO film Game Change, set to premiere in March, is striking. Guess that’s how you earn four Oscar nominations. The 51-year-old actress stars opposite Ed Harris (as John McCain) and Woody Harrelson (adviser Steve Schmidt) in the film based on the 2010 book of the same name. Game Change centers around the ’08 presidential elections, following the U.S. Senator’s run and decision to select Palin, then governor of Alaska, as his running mate: Game Change Teaser Trailer “In terms of research I did on the way campaigns are conducted, so much is about how do you get on the air, how do you get the most media attention,” Moore said. “How do you make the most noise. When in fact, what we’re all looking for is leadership, we don’t want noise. We want people who are going to take care of us.” Wow. That’s way too intelligent to come from an actual political figure. The book Game Change chronicled the actions of both parties during the 2008 race, but based on the cast , the film looks to be centered primarily on the Republican side.
Method Man has recently been on the promotional trail for his new film, The Sitter . While doing interviews, he’s been asked about new music. Meth says his upcoming fifth album will be his last. Johnny Blaze took to the Wu-Tang Clan’s Facebook page to make the official announcement. The message simply read: “Method Man is officially working on his last album produced by the RZA.” This will be the first time RZA has produced a Method Man album in its entirety since his 1994 solo debut, Tical . Method Man and RZA have both grown since 1994, so we can’t wait to see what comes of their collaborative efforts. The Waka Flocka Flame affiliate fought with man over stolen piece of candy, Atlanta police say. By Rob Markman Slim Dunkin and Waka Flocka Photo: MTV News Atlanta police are still on the hunt for the man who shot and killed up-and-coming rapper “Slim Dunkin” on December 16, but new disturbing details have emerged in the case. On Tuesday, WSB-TV in Atlanta reported that the Waka Flocka Flame affiliate and Brick Squad Monopoly member was shot in an altercation which began over a stolen piece of candy. “The information we’re getting, it’s unconfirmed, but witnesses are saying this whole thing started over a piece of candy,” homicide detective David Quinn told “Action News” on camera. According to witnesses, Dunkin, born Mario Hamilton, grabbed a piece of candy from another man while inside an Atlanta recording studio, which led to an argument and then a fistfight. The scuffle ended with Slim being shot once in the chest. He was then transported to Grady Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. There were a number of witnesses at the scene, but because police first arrived at the hospital and not the scene of the crime, they didn’t have the opportunity to properly interview all of the people who were present. There will be a public viewing on Thursday at Atlanta’s Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home, located at 1003 Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard, from the hours of 6 p.m. ET to 9 p.m. ET. Dunk was an emerging star in Waka Flocka Flame ‘s Brick Squad Monopoly crew. Aside from key appearances alongside Flocka on his 2010 debut album, Flockaveli, and on Gucci Mane and V-Nasty’s BAYTL LP, Slim was also beginning to make waves as a soloist. This past Halloween the street-bred MC released Menace II Society, a 20-track mixtape that featured Gucci Mane, Roscoe Dash and Pastor Troy. Dunkin’s death has sent waves through the rap community; his close collaborators were undoubtedly hit hard. The day after he was murdered Waka took to Twitter to express his grief. “WISH IT WAS ME … MY F—ING RIGHT HAND IS GONE,” Flocka wrote the day after the murder. The “O Let’s Do It” MC continued to vent over Twitter, writing, “damn I feel dead” and “IM LOST” in reaction to the tragic news. The day Justin tweeted, “I’m in Mexico City” or something like that, I told my mom and she agreed to come with me to find him. We went to the city that is 2 hours away from my house. We went to his the hotel and we followed the cars Justin went in. In the end, I didn’t end up seeing him. Then my mom and I got to the Foro Sol but we didn’t have tickets. I saw a group of girls that were screaming and crying so I asked them what happened? They told me, “We have M&G passes” and I started crying. I was like, “Really?!” They say yeah of course but I was still crying. Then one man from the staff saw me and I started begging him to let me in with Justin, so he hugged me and said me, “YOU WILL BE MY SPECIAL GUEST”. I think that was the best thing that someone could told say to me. I started to shake and cry even more. Then I got in the M&G and Justin was so cute. I was in so much shock, I didn’t even tell him how much I love him, how many times I was dreaming of this moment, but no, I only started to shake again. Justin hugged me and said, “Take it easy”. I thought that my heart would explode. After that I went to his hotel again but he didn’t go out. Then the next day we went to the concert. My mom was waiting for me outside of the Foro Sol because she didn’t have tickets.
