Jesus wept … Atheist Violent Beats Pastor After Asking About Girlfriend’s Safety Via WHIOTV A self-described militant atheist with a criminal past faces multiple charges after an attack on a pastor who, after his sermon, had asked the man’s girlfriend if she felt safe. James Maxie, 28, of Springfield, Ohio, is charged with second-degree felonious assault and misdemeanor resisting arrest after an incident Sunday at The Bridge Community Church in North Hampton. Police Chief Jarrod Campbell said in his 11 years with the department, he’s rarely dealt with “an incident this brutal.” The Rev. Norman Hayes, 57, said he feared for his life and begged for the attack to stop. Hayes suffered a broken nose, bruises and three long cuts that required stitches across his face. “I questioned his girlfriend in his presence if she felt safe,” Hayes said. “He was very, very upset that I’d even suggest that he would hurt her. Then he turned around and hurt me very badly.” Jeez, calm down, bro… Maxie and the girlfriend, who attends the church, approached Hayes after the service. She told police that Hayes asked her if Maxie was abusing her, and Maxie became furious, striking pastor several times in the face in the church hallway. “He came from nowhere and hit me … and knocked me down, and then he got on top of me and just kept hitting me over and over,” Hayes said. Kanye, you need more people. Kanye West Says He Feared For His Safety During LAX Attack Kanye’s LAX attack may cause him to give up some of that Kardashian money . According to TMZ Kanye West says he went after that photog at LAX because he feared for his safety … and that’s why he pulled out a can of whoop azz and used it. Kanye is responding to the civil suit filed by the paparazzo who claims Kanye assaulted him on July 19th at LAX and caused him serious injury. According to Kanye’s answer to the lawsuit, filed by Shawn Holley and obtained by TMZ … he believed “his safety was in immediate danger.” And then there’s this: “[Kanye] responded to this assault by doing only those acts that were reasonably necessary for his self-defense …” In addition to the civil lawsuit, Kanye faces criminal charges that could land him in jail for a maximum of 1 year if convicted. This “fearing for my safety” defense won’t fly in court…the dude said two words to him. Kanye needs to take some of the money put aside for lawyer’s fees and seek anger management classes. Woman Impersonates Husband’s Girlfriend And Posts Sex Ads On Craigslist She needs her azz whooped for putting that girl’s business out there and exposing her to box-thirsty perverts. According to Mail Online A woman impersonated her estranged husband’s girlfriend and posted ads on Craigslist for men to come to her home for sex, police said today. Samantha Weber, 38, from Houston, is accused of putting an ad on the classifieds website on April 18 featuring a picture of Heather McCarthy, from Cypress. It also had a ‘statement of desire for any men to come to her house for the purposes of sexual activity’ and listed her address. The victim contacted the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office to report that a number of strange men had come to her home looking for sex. She said she was in fear for her safety and denied placing any ad on Craigslist. When her boyfriend – Weber’s estranged husband – confronted one of the men, he showed him the classified ad, according to court documents. Investigators obtained subpoenas from Craigslist.com, AT&T Wireless and Google and were able to trace the ad to Weber’s phone number and email address. She was also the account holder of the IP address, Click2Houston reports. A search warrant revealed emails in Weber’s account from persons responding to the ad, investigators say. Black Firefighter Forced To The Ground And Threatened For Waving At White Police Officer A black off-duty firefighter is making headlines with his story about being threatened with a taser and forced to the ground for waving at a white police officer who did not recognize him out of uniform. via RTV Channel 6 Indianapolis An Evansville firefighter has filed a formal complaint against a police officer who stopped him during a bicycle ride Tuesday afternoon, threatened him with a stun gun and handcuffed him. George Madison Jr., 38, who is also a youth pastor, said he feared for his safety during the stop, the Evansville Courier and Press reported . According to the police department’s dispatch report , the officers stopped Madison after he “failed to stop on his bike” at an intersection and “raised his right arm (at officers) in an apparent aggravated manor (sic).” Madison admitted that he was not going to stop at the intersection, but he said the officer startled him by making a sudden left turn in front of him. “He did it real fast,” Madison told the Evansville newspaper. “I thought it was one of the guys (police) I knew.” Madison said he has met many police officers through his job and participating in local police/fire events, so he raised his hand to wave at the officers. But Madison said he did not know the officers who stopped him. “The officer jumped out and says, ‘What are you doing throwing your hands up at us?’” Madison told the paper. “He is talking to me as he is coming toward me. I tried to explain, but I couldn’t get a word in edgewise.” Madison said he knew Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin from their community involvement, so he started to use his cellphone to call Bolin, hoping to diffuse the situation. The officer told Madison to put the phone down then, according to the department’s report, “Madison refused to put his phone down and… postured up and pulled his arm back in an aggressive manor (sic).” Reacting to the perceived aggression, the officer pulled out his stun gun, the report said. “I remember looking down the barrel of a Taser, because (the officer) was gritting his teeth and saying, ‘Don’t make me pull this trigger,’” Madison said. This is just CRAZY! Sounds like something straight out of a scene in the South pre-civil rights movement.

This local news segment offers the bear necessities when it comes to warding off a giant ursine creature in the woods. Or any other living thing for that matter. Following a story about a man who faced down a bear, reporter Julie Tremmel of Providence, R.I.’s local NBC affiliate WJAR did a segment on bear safety. Her intentions were no doubt good, but the end result was at least a solid 7 or 8 on the unintentionally comedy meter. Dart your eyes wildly, side to side, and wave your hands in the air like you just don’t care! Then curl up in the dirt as the confused animal laughs, concludes it probably isn’t worth the trouble, shakes his head and ambles back into the forest.

Movie Theater Hires Fake Gunman According to Fox 4 A Missouri movie theater is in trouble with police for a promotion that could have had tragic consequences. During the opening of “Iron Man 3″, the Goodrich Capital 8 had an actor walk into a theater with full tactical gear, carrying a fake gun. Several moviegoers were scared, thinking it was a real shooter, and called 911. “Everything was in place, it’s the opening night of a superhero movie, it’s somebody walking in all-dark clothes, everything pointed to bad things about to happen,” Jefferson City Police Capt. Doug Shoemaker told the area’s FOX affiliate. “There’s really no good that can come of this.” Shoemaker added that with a recent mass shooting at a Aurora, Colo. movie theater, this stunt was ill-advised. The manager of the theater says this was planned months in advance, and only a few customers were upset. He added that the safety and security of his customers is his top priority. Shoemaker countered that if an off-duty police officer had been in the theater, the actor would likely have been confronted, and could have been killed. Friday afternoon, the theater posted the following statement on Facebook: “We apologize and are sympathetic to those who felt they were in harm’s way with our character promotion for Iron Man 3. This was not a publicity stunt. We have worked with the Cosplacon group on many movies to dress up and help entertain our customers. We have had many complaints about the members dressed specifically as S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives carrying fake guns. We didn’t clearly tell our customers and some people didn’t realize it was for entertainment purposes only. We apologize that police were called to come out to our theater. We have a wonderful working relationship with the Jefferson City Police Department. Going forward we will take the necessary steps to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Security and safety for our customers is our number one priority.” We just don’t understand with children shooting themselves and mass shootings, why this theater thought this would be a cool promotional event. If only someone had been there for Junior Seau … Former NFL Players Talk Another Recently Retired Player Out Of Suicide Via CBSSports An NFL linebacker recently retired, and as has happened so many times before, to so many players who have difficulty making the transition from playing to regular life, a series of frightening thoughts began to enter into his mind. The former player thought about killing himself. It wasn’t the first time he had thoughts of suicide, but these thoughts seemed more serious. The player’s wife became so concerned for not just his safety, but hers, that she contacted the NFL. Two ex-players from the NFL’s new league initiative that uses former players to coach recently retired ones responded. The three former players spent three days together. The players themselves bonded over having been in the NFL and talked bluntly about how difficult it is to leave the game and the money and the accolades and become a normal person again. At the end of the three days, the player was no longer talking about taking his own life but instead was talking about the future. The wife of the player sent an emotional email to the NFL and the two players who talked a player away from the brink. It read: “I just wanted to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to the two of you for what you did for my husband over the weekend! He is so enthusiastic about seeing the light at the end of a tunnel, and it absolutely would NOT have been possible without your support and this fabulous program. I honestly think it is the most worthwhile thing I’ve seen the NFL do in all of the years he was involved. He summed it up by saying, ‘I think those few days saved a couple of lives in that room.’ I don’t profess to know or understand the small brotherhood of NFL alumni, but you guys did a phenomenal job in reaching out and changing lives. [Former player’s name redacted] I know you spent years as an NFL great, but perhaps this is your best work, the thing for which you should be most proud. [Former player’s name redacted] thank you for that initial phone call and email — you made a difference in our lives. As a wife, I thank you for doing something I couldn’t. Please express to whomever the powers that be what great importance this program bears. It is an integral part of the transitioning process and if you ever have a board for families or wives involvement, count me in — this is the best thing the NFL has put money towards in years. THANK YOU and I hope to meet you two in person one day. Until then…” That is a truly amazing story. Shout out to those players who took the time to help this brother get his life together. There is no telling how his survival will impact the lives of his friends and family. The NFL runs what it calls ambassador and transition programs, but it is the latter program that is extremely interesting. It consists of recently retired players who go through extensive training and actually become certified to help in the areas of mental and behavioral health. The program is run by former NFL player Troy Vincent, who said one of the main goals is to give “a sense of hope” to players having difficulty both in the game and once retired. “We want to support both active and retired players,” said Vincent, who’s currently a league vice president.
