Steve Rannazzisi makes millions of people laugh each week as a star on The League. But no one found what the actor admitted to this morning to be funny. In a shocking, disturbing admission, Rannazzisi confessed that he lied back in the day about working in the World Trade Center at the time of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. “I don’t know why I said this. This was inexcusable. I am truly, truly sorry,” Rannazzisi said in a statement issued via his publicist. Of those who have chimed in on the scandal, many have taken note of Pete Davidson’s response because the Saturday Night Live cast member lost his father in those same attacks. “It’s ok @SteveRannazzisi people make mistakes,” Davidson initially Tweeted, awkwardly adding: “Can’t wait to meet my dad for lunch later.” But Rannazzisi appeared to have missed the joke, writing back in response: “Thank you Pete. I really appreciate it.” He eventually deleted this reply. However, and after speaking with Rannazzisi personally, Davidson then turned serious and Tweeted once more: “Take it easy on @SteveRannazzisi … He reached out to me and is truly sorry. NBA legend Darryl Dawkins has passed away at the age of 58. It’s been said that what Babe Ruth was to the home run, Dawkins was to the slam dunk. After becoming the first player to be drafted right out of high school in 1975, Dawkins became a fan favorite due to his flamboyant style of play. Dawkins famously broke two backboards with his earth-shattering dunks in 1979, leading the league to adopt break away rims shortly thereafter. His 14-year NBA career ended in 1989, but Dawkins continued playing professionally until 2000, even wowing fans for one season as a Harlem Globetrotter in the mid-90s. Nicknamed “Chocolate Thunder” as a result of his prodigious presence on the court, Dawkins started his career with the 76ers before moving on to the Nets, Jazz and Pistons. He averaged double-digit points per game in 9 of his 14 seasons. Dawkins became a trailblazer and a crusader for equal rights when he spoke openly about the racism that he and fellow players such as Julius Erving encountered in the 1970s and ’80s. He remained a popular media figure throughout his retirement and was named “Man of the Millennium” in a 1999 Saturday Night Live sketch. Dawkins leaves behind a wife and three children. Tyga already gifted Kylie with a brand new car , and it looks like she’ll be spending the rest of the week getting the rest of her present on a solo trip to Mexico with her 25-year-old boyfriend. Just one day after turning the big 1-8, Kylie Jenner decided to get away from Southern California with her main man Tyga for a birthday getaway. In fact, no big bashes are planned and other family members are not expected to visit. While Kylie is remaining quiet on social media so far, her vacation won’t last too long. Trucker Who Slammed Into Tracy Morgan’s Car Hadn’t Slept In 28 Hours Tracy Morgan is doing well on his road to recovery since the tragic truck accident that caused him severe brain damage and killed another passenger. Now, a new report from the National Transportation Safety Board is finding that the entire incident may have been avoidable if the Wal Mart driver in question had simply gotten some rest. Via CNN : A truck driver’s fatigue — exacerbated by his decision to drive 12 hours to work before he even started his 14-hour shift — likely caused the June 2014 crash that killed comedian James McNair and seriously injured comedian Tracy Morgan in New Jersey, federal officials said Tuesday. But McNair, Morgan and others in the passenger compartment of a limo van weren’t wearing seat belts or using properly adjusted head restraints, a factor that contributed to the severity of their injuries, the National Transportation Safety Board said. A Walmart truck driven by Kevin Roper rear-ended the limo van, which was carrying seven people, shortly before 1 a.m. on the New Jersey Turnpike on June 7, 2014. The crash killed McNair — known as “Jimmy Mack” — and seriously injured four other passengers, including former “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock” performer Morgan, who was left with a brain injury. The NTSB said Roper was driving 65 mph in a work zone with a posted 45 mph limit, and failed to brake in time for slow-moving traffic ahead of him, including the limo van. The board said Roper declined to speak to its investigators. But the board determined that Roper was awake for more than 28 consecutive hours before the crash, having driven 12 hours in his personal vehicle before he started his job on the morning of June 6, the NTSB said. Wow. What would make him thing it would be a good idea to drive for that long???
Tracy Morgan To Appear On The Today Show For First Time Since Car Accident Welcome back, Tracy . Via THR Tracy Morgan is finally ready to return to television. The Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock alum will appear on Monday’s Today show, in his first TV interview since he was critically injured in a car crash last June. Morgan will be interviewed by Matt Lauer live in Today’s Rockefeller Center studios and will be joined by his lawyer Benedict Morelli. Apart from a few written statements sent out by Morgan’s team and paparazzi photos that have emerged since the incident, Morgan essentially hasn’t been seen or heard from since the accident. He had hoped to make it to SNL’s 40th anniversary special in February, but he wasn’t able to attend. Still, Morgan’s 30 Rock co-stars Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin paid tribute to him from the stage. The news of Morgan’s first interview comes a day after he reached a confidential settlement in a lawsuit he filed against Walmart over the crash, which occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike early in the morning on June 7, 2014.
