They sat down with T Magazine recently to give us a peek into how the Smith kids think. Via MailOnline : First off, the pair reveal in the interview that Willow is currently reading ‘quantum physics’ while Jaden reveals he is glossing over an ‘ancient text’ called The Ancient Secret of the Flower Life [that] can’t be pre-dated’. The interviewer then asks the pair what themes ‘recur’ in their music, to which Jaden replies ‘the melancholiness of the ocean; the melancholiness of everything else’ while Willow describes the feeling of being in a ‘holographic reality that a higher consciousness made’. It is not surprising, that they both confess they’ve already had enough of going to school like normal teenagers. ‘I went to school for one year. It was the best experience but the worst experience,’ Willow admitted. ‘The best experience because I was, like, “Oh, now I know why kids are so depressed.” But it was the worst experience because I was depressed,’ she added. While Jaden took aim at Driver’s Ed, suggesting that the amount of car accidents that happen prove school isn’t working. ‘You never learn anything in school. Think about how many car accidents happen every day. Driver’s ed? What’s up?’ he said. ‘I still haven’t been to driver’s ed because if everybody I know has been in an accident, I can’t see how driver’s ed is really helping them out.’ Jaden added: ‘Here’s the deal: School is not authentic because it ends. It’s not true, it’s not real.’ ‘Our learning will never end. The school that we go to every single morning, we will continue to go to.’ Willow then rather bizarrely claims that time is a concept that she can control with her mind. ‘I mean, time for me, I can make it go slow or fast, however I please,’ she says. ‘That’s how I know it doesn’t exist.’ And despite only being fourteen years old, Willow already misses her days as a newborn. ‘When they’re in the stomach, [babies are] so aware, putting all their bones together, putting all their ligaments together. But they’re shocked by this harsh world … As they grow up, they start losing.’ Discussing honesty, Willow goes on to suggest that she has started ‘caring less and less about what your own mind thinks’ in a bid to stop her feeling sad. Jaden agrees by saying: ‘Exactly. Because your mind has a duality to it. So when one thought goes into your mind, it’s not just one thought, it has to bounce off both hemispheres of the brain.’ Oh, the things you have time to think about when you’ll never have bills as long as you live…

Black Texas Teacher Will Lose Her Job Over Racist Twitter Rant Via Raw Story reports: Vinita Hegwood has admitted she made the post on the social media site during an online debate over the police shooting of an unarmed teen in Ferguson, Missouri, reported KRLD-TV. “Who the f*ck made you dumb duck *ss crackers think I give a squat f*ck about your opinions on my opinions RE: #Ferguson. Kill yourselves!” the English teacher posted Friday on her personal account. It wasn’t clear who or what she was responding to, but her husband told WFAA-TV there was more to her side of the story. Hegwood deleted the post and her account shortly afterward, but copies were preserved with screen capture images. She did not mention the school district or her job as a teacher, and it’s not clear whether any students or parents followed her account. But officials with the Duncanville School District said Hegwood would be suspended without pay until the school board can vote on her termination. “As an individual, Ms. Vinita Hegwood expressed an opinion on social media that is solely her own,” the district said in a statement. “She used her personal media account to make remarks that are offensive. While everyone has the right to free speech, as a teacher in the district, we believe the comments that are alleged to be made by Ms. Hegwood are absolutely reprehensible and we do not condone it.” A spokeswoman for the district said the post was so plainly offensive that Hegwood left the district “no other option” than to fire the teacher, and at least one parent agreed. “I would say she needs to be a fired,” said parent Lydia Flores. “That’s crazy. She’s still on this… Danielle Watts Speaks Racial Profiling And Her Actions At UCLA Even though she is now facing charges of lewd conduct for the now infamous incident between herself, her boyfriend, and the LAPD, Danielle Watts says her own experience with profiling and the highly publicized climate of racial injustice in the US right now motivated her to refuse to give her ID and blame her encounter with LAPD on racial bias. Via LAtimes : D’jango Unchained” actress Daniele Watts tearfully explained Monday how racially charged events nationally and her own history with alleged racial profiling caused her to “explode” at a police officer in September. At a panel discussion at USC’s School of Law, Watts recounted her side of a Sept. 11 incident that drew national attention and charges of lewd acts against the actress and her boyfriend. “At a certain point, enough is enough and somebody has to say something,” Watts said. She referred to this year’s police shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed black man, in Ferguson, Mo., and to witnessing her father being profiled when she was 16. Watts and her boyfriend, Brian James Lucas, accused LAPD Sgt. Jim Parker of targeting the couple because she is black and he is white. She was detained for not providing her identification when asked. The department has said that officers were responding to a complaint about a couple having sex in a silver Mercedes in Studio City near the CBS TV studios. Watts was released with no charges at the time, but a follow-up investigation “revealed witnesses who were willing to provide evidence of a criminal act,” LAPD spokesman Lt. Andrew Neiman said. The Los Angeles city attorney’s office has charged the couple with misdemeanor lewd conduct. The couple have said they are “appalled and disturbed” by the charges. Watts said she hoped the panel discussion at USC would drive the broader societal conversation about race forward. “If we’re going to condemn me, then we also have to look at the entire society that I am a product of,” she said. USC professors Camille Gear Rich, Michelle Gordon, Shana Redmond and Diana Williams joined Watts on the panel. Watts and Lucas are due in court Nov. 13. If convicted, they face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. Hmmm, what do you think?
