Casey Anthony Video Diaries: Weird, Leaked Online!

For the first time since her stunning murder acquittal last summer, Casey Anthony is speaking out and showing her face … in a just-surfaced video diary online. Anthony, sporting a blonde bob, black-framed glasses and a white tank top, says it’s strange being on camera. We’d say pretty much everything about her is. In the personal video diary she says she recorded in October, she talks about life on probation (she was convicted of check fraud and lying to authorities). The 25-year-old, who spent years in jail awaiting trial, despised and alone , says she’s happy to have a computer, phone and camera, plus a dog she adopted. “I finally have something I can call mine,” she says. (Cue obvious, outraged comebacks.) “It’s just a little surreal how much things have changed since July, and how many things haven’t changed,” says Anthony, one of America’s Most Hated humans. “But the good thing is that things are starting to look up and things are starting to change in a good way. I just hope that things stay good and only get better.” People has confirmed that this is the accused killer, not some online impostor. Check out Casey Anthony’s video diary (poor sound quality) after the jump: Casey Anthony Video Diary The video provides few details about where she is as she serves out her probation at an undisclosed location in Florida. The probation ends late next month. Casey Anthony seems relaxed, though somewhat nervous and awkward at being in front of a camera. She pauses several times to ruminate over her life. It’s unclear how the video leaked, as it was simply “floating around Facebook” according to the person who YouTubed it. But it may not be the last. “This is the first of many, and I’m looking forward to this,” Anthony says. She continues: “It’s a little scary, because I hate being on camera. But I need to conquer that fear at some point, and this is a good start.”

Justin Bieber Visits Special Elementary School, Inspires

Justin Bieber finished 2011 as the second-most charitable celebrity on the planet, but he didn’t earn such a ranking by merely having his advisors cut checks. The singer is known for taking a personal interest in special causes, and never was that more evident than over the holidays. As taped for an episode of Ellen , Justin stopped by Whitney Elementary School, which is run by principal Sherri Gahn and which is comprised of underprivileged children. “I’m here to bring smiles to these kids’ faces,” Bieber tells Gahn below. “For me, I grew up and I didn’t have a lot. We went to food banks to get food for me.” Justin Bieber Visits Whitney Elementary School Bieber also donated $100,000 to the cause, played a song for the kids and made them cheer/giggle during a Q&A session where they asked his favorite color, along with what he and Selena Gomez do on the weekends. The answer and the reaction are both adorable. Watch now: Justin Bieber Q&A

Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger: Still Close, But Not Reconciling

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are getting along much better these days, but don’t bank on a reconciliation in their marriage – rings or no rings. While Internet reports that Shriver is wearing a suspicious ring on her finger fueled rumors of them getting back together, there’s a different explanation. The ring on Shriver’s left hand is actually her late mother’s. Shriver has been wearing the engagement ring since Eunice Kennedy Shriver’s death in 2009. As for rumors that Shriver is having second thoughts about divorcing Schwarzenegger, due to her religious beliefs, a source close to the couple denies it. “The reports of a reconciliation are not true,” says the source. The former couple, who announced their separation after 25 years, still spend quality time as a family with kids Katherine, Christina, Patrick and Christopher. They announced their separation last year after Shriver learned Arnold knocked up their longtime housekeeper Mildred Patricia Baena – over a decade ago. Most recently, Shriver and Schwarzenegger enjoyed Christmas with the kids in L.A., and attended the L.A. Lakers’ season opener game that afternoon. While it appears their divorce is still on, “Arnold and Maria will always come together when it comes to supporting and loving their children,” says an insider .

Total Recall: Arnold Schwarzenegger to Pen Memoir

Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is writing an autobiography titled, predictably but still awesomely, Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story . The actor will reportedly touch on his breakup with Maria Shriver while covering his childhood in Austria and careers as a bodybuilder, film star and politician. However, “This book will not be a tell-all,” a source stressed. The recently-embattled Schwarzenegger, 64, will work on the book in between shooting scenes for his next film The Expendables 2 , with Sylvester Stallone. “He has been keeping notes and working on the book for over a year,” his spokesman said. “He didn’t want to write his autobiography while he was governor.” Adds Jonathan Karp of publisher Simon & Schuster: “Nobody has a life story even close to his. Truly, Arnold is one of the most fascinating figures of our time.” And that was true even before Mildred Patricia Baena !

‘Conan The Barbarian’: The Reviews Are In!

While critics prefer the remake to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s original, reviews aren’t glowing. By Terri Schwartz Jason Momoa in “Conan the Barbarian” Photo: Lionsgate Entertainment “Conan the Barbarian” isn’t trying to pull any punches. From the beginning, the remake of the 1982 cult classic proclaims that its lead lives, loves, slays and is content. And critics are saying that’s exactly what you get in theaters. Reviews haven’t necessarily been positive, with critics complaining about the script and the one-dimensional characters. But they seem to agree that Jason Momoa did a better job in the title role than Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the movie is fun — at least as a mindless summer blockbuster. It might not be worth spending the extra money to see the flick in 3-D, but the fighting is good and gory if that’s what fans are looking for. But don’t let us tell you what to think. Before you head to theaters to watch “Conan the Barbarian,” find out what the critics thought of “Conan the Barbarian” in our review round-up: The Script “With a script so pat and humor-free, Momoa has little to do but sneer and slice. The film informs us that Conan has the heart of a lion and ‘the loyalty of a bloodhound,’ but we get nary a sniff of that in this carnage fest. He’s built like a tank, but Conan emotes like one, too.” — Scott Bowles, USA Today The Effects “This ‘Conan’ plods along, regularly erupting in action scenes that make scant visual sense in two dimensions and none at all in 3-D. The few that stick out involve supernatural beasties; there’s one ferocious battle against warriors made of sand that combines athletic parkour and digital effects to surprisingly exciting ends. Other than that, it’s tame stuff, and there’s little sense of the larger mythical stage the hero strides across.” — Ty Burr, The Boston Globe The Remake “The original ‘Conan’ was a sloppy, grandiose, unforgivable muckbath directed by the (I say the words lovingly) right-wing maniac John Milius. I watched it about four times to make sure it had no redeeming qualities. The reboot (re-sandal?) isn’t good either, exactly. But it has a certain commitment to its cause, and by that I mean it supplies the necessary flayings, slayings, beheadings and, um, a be-nose-ing, all of it dancing to the tune of those amusingly stilted He-Man declaratives — King James Bible cadences applied to comic-book visions. It knows it’s a B movie, and gets on with it.” — Kyle Smith, The New York Post The Schwarzenegger Connection “In this dank ultimate-fighting challenge, Jason Momoa as Conan provides the only visual vivacity; he has an eye-catchingly sensuous face atop the requisite statuesque beefcake. Much more than Schwarzenegger in his early Teutonic-slab phase, Momoa nicely fulfills the law of Hollywood Darwinism: survival of the dishiest. Such is his sex appeal that he almost brings plausibility to the movie’s silliest scene, when Conan tells Tamara, ‘I live, I love, I slay, and I am content,’ and the virgin instantly falls into his arms. Guys bringing their dates to this murky holocaust are advised not to try using Conan’s credo as a pickup line.” — Richard Corliss, Time The Final Word ” ‘Conan the Barbarian,’ starring the excellent rippling chisel of Jason Momoa, is brutal, bloody beyond belief, and has no socially redeeming value. So it is with a certain amount of guilt that I say it’s kind of a wicked blast to watch, especially if you’re in the mood for some righteous revenge.” — Betsy Sharkey, The Los Angeles Times Check out everything we’ve got on “Conan the Barbarian.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
