Justin Bieber owes his fame and fortune to Usher, who discovered the Canadian singer based on a series of homemade YouTube videos. Now, the teenage icon is returning the favor, hoping to become a mentor to a young woman named Carly Rae Jespen. The Biebs helped sign Jepsen – last year’s runner-up on Canadian Idol – to Schoolboy Records, the label run by Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun, after hearing the track “Call Me Maybe” on the radio. “She’s gonna blow up,” Bieber said last week on his native country’s MuchMusic. Now, as Madge preps the release of her next album, M.D.N.A. , and her film “W.E.,” she’s finally weighing in on the controversy. Madonna, known for her curt, pithy responses when asked about anyone who might take a cue or two from her playbook, sat down with ABC News recently and had some choice words for pop’s latest princess. “I certainly think she references me a lot in her work. And sometimes I think it’s amusing and flattering and well-done,” she explained of her onetime “Saturday Night Live” co-star . “When I heard [‘Born This Way’] on the radio … I said, ‘that sounds very familiar’ … It felt reductive.” When asked if “reductive” was good or bad, Madonna replied, “Look it up.” The Queen of Pop did call Gaga “a very talented artist” and explained that she thinks that she’s making a “statement about taking something that was in the Zeitgeist, you know, 20 years ago and turning it inside out and reinterpreting it.” Madonna also addressed her apparent penchant for kissing female pop stars. She recently made headlines when her “Gimme All Your Luvin” cohort Nicki Minaj tweeted that Madge had kissed her on the set of her video. In true Madonna fashion, she brushed it off, saying, “It was her birthday. I gave her a birthday kiss. No tongue!” Of course, Nicki is not the first pop star Madonna has locked lips with. Letting his fans know on Twitter that he’s “gonna make that,” the Black Eyed Peas frontman hyped up the collaboration further when he added, “let’s make a hit tomorrow!! #collab. ‘I gotta feeling this song is ganne be bigger than huge’ #willpower.” The news comes as Bieber is deep in the studio working on his highly anticipated 2012 release. The team-up should make for an interesting track for the teen star. With Bieber hoping to recapture some of that Justin Timberlake/Timbaland magic from Timberlake’s Future Sex/Love Sounds , will could bring some of that frenetic pop energy to Bieber’s own work. My name is Brittany. I have a sister, Alexandria, and a friend, Breanna. O ur Bieber experience happened on December 3, 2011 at Test Track in Epcot, Walt Disney World. Going to Walt Disney World was a joy for many reasons. It was my early 16th birthday celebration, my best friend was coming and celebrating her 15th, and my dad turned 41. While at Epcot that day I really wanted to go on Test Track. I was just really anxious to get on the ride. Of course it’s an hour wait so we got fast passes for later and waited in line. The line was forever. Finally we got on the ride and had to get off. We hop off the ride and my dad says, “Who’s the VIP?” Me ignoring him just shrugged. Then a few cast members hurried us along and I’m just like WTF? My dad was like, “Brittany, isn’t that the Bieber kid you’re in love with?” I just go, “Yeah right dad”. But then my friend says, “Sorry bro!” and says, “Nice Jacket.” Then the realization that Justin Bieber is really there hit us . I panicked. My sister is like, “DANG. MY HAIR IS A MESS.” All of a sudden this girl in line for Justin’s car screams at the top of her lungs. I couldn’t believe I had just walked by my idol; the person who’s music wakes me up in the morning and makes my day brighter. So while we were in the ride gift shop, I say, “Mom. We need proof!” We went back to the Fast Pass photos with my camera ready and an empty car comes on the screen. We thought WDW was playing it safe then suddenly, a photo of Jaden Smith, Justin Bieber, Scooter Braun, Kenny Hamilton, and two others comes on the screen! My mom hurries and takes the photo of the screen with the cast member yelling, “DON’T YOU DARE TAKE THAT PHOTO!!!!!!” I was flustered. It was actually him. I thought I could have been imagining things but, there he was again. What a great 16th birthday celebration. My Bieber experience was on November 23, 2011. It was at the Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting and I was flipping out!! I went to the Today Show earlier that day and had no idea about the lighting but my mom works for CNBC so she got us in. I was behind the stage waiting for Justin to come out but he still wasn’t there. Then, all of the sudden, I see Scooter Braun walk by and I couldn’t help but scream,”Scooter!!!” He was setting up for the concert so he said he would come back later. When he came back, another person was with him. Kenny Hamilton! I said,”Omigod can i get a picture with you?!” They gladly said, “Of course!” I seriously couldn’t breathe. I was definitely hyperventilating. Then I saw Dan Kanter go by and of course I yelled, “Dan the Man can we take a picture with you!” As nice as can be he said, “Sure! No problem!” I honestly thought I was going to faint. After we took our picture, he didn’t leave. We talked for a half an hour! He talked about how Justin would read the comments we all post on his Twitter, Youtube, Facebook, and everything into the night. And how he genuinely just really cares about all of us loyal beliebers. He realizes that we will do anything for him . It was so amazing to know that he cares because he is always so busy with concerts, appearences, etc. After that he said he had to go set up for the show so he left. Then I met Alfredo! He was putting his face against the glass window like a blowfish and I met Mike his other background dancer. They were both so nice. I also met Scrappy . He’s pretty cool, too. I never got to meet Justin that day but he did make my year. He KISSED my hand. I felt like i was seriously going to die! He looked straight into my eyes and sang the lyrics from “Drummer Boy,” little baaabbyyyy, barupabumbaaaa! I seriously could not believe this was actually happening to me. On Wednesday (September 28), the singer dropped his acoustic version of the ballad. According to a tweet from Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun , Bieber produced and played all of the instruments on the song, which shows the singer growing as an artist and his ability to embrace older lyrical content. He plays guitar and percussion, displaying his skills an instrumentalist, and, as fans have seen over the course of this year, he also sings in a lower key. About a minute and a half into the track, Bieber even shows off his rapping skills when he spits, “I just want to take my time/ I just want to my thing/ Maybe we press rewind/ Maybe I buy that ring/ We could grow old together/ Just share our souls together/ Find how to love, kiss and hug/ How to roll together/ I just need you by my side/ Maybe we could be alright/ I just want to hold you right/ We can into the night/ You’re the one I need.” Braun also shared that there’s more new music coming out from Bieber, tweeting, “He has some more remixes coming too. right @seankingston.” This week, Bieber heads to South America for a string of dates on the next leg of his My World Tour, and he had this message for all the Bieliebers out there: “U know what … I LOVE MY FANS!! and yeah i know there r haterz but u cant stop us from living our dream. hard work and this team. #wegohard.” In related news, Bieber tweeted out the date “#nov1st,” perhaps a hint as to when his highly anticipated Christmas album will drop. I will NEVER forget August 27th, 2010. The day that plain old me, Cassie, from little Rhode Island met Justin Bieber. It was my best friend’s birthday and Justin had a concert at the Dunkin Donuts Center about 15 minutes away from us. My friend got a VIP Soundcheck Party ticket for her birthday but I didn’t have a ticket in general, and as usual, like the day of any concert at the DDC , we walked around Providence trying to meet someone- anyone. The day before we had met Justin’s camera crew, Jon M. Chu, and some of his dancers at a hotel. But the day of the concert we hung out near all of the tour buses coming in for the show. We followed one of the venues runner cars down to the gate and JUSTIN BIEBER ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOW AND WAVED TO US. We were in shock so we stood there and waved like idiots, then when the car drove away we started screaming of course! When the afternoon rolled around, my friend had to go in for the VIP thing, and my friend Zack Tremblay and I were hanging out together near the tour buses. Jayden Smith, the camera crew, and Scooter Braun came out to say hi to everyone waiting around. Jayden was getting everyone excited for the show and then Scooter asked if everyone was going. I was the only one that said no, and I asked him if there was anyway he could get me in. He said nope sorry and walked away. I was so bummed. Then all of a sudden Zack goes “OMG CASSIE JUSTIN IS COMING OVER HERE!” And there he was! Justin and Jayden were walking over to us followed by the cameras with Scooter! Justin came over and shook hands with everyone and said hello, and I was a little sad that I only got to see him for a second… but then Scooter tapped him on the shoulder and pointed to me. Justin effing Bieber walked up to me and said, “I hear you’re not going to the show tonight, why?” and I was like “Yeah…I never saved enough money for a good ticket” and he goes “Oh that sucks, it’s gonna be awesome.” And I was like “I bet!” And then he goes ”Well, I have a couple of extra tickets right here…” AND REACHED IN HIS POCKETS AND HANDED ME TWO FRONT ROW, DEAD CENTER TICKETS FOR ME AND MY LITTLE SISTER . He also gave one to my friend, Nicole! I didn’t even know what to do, I started shaking and held my arms out for a hug, and in the middle of our hug, I just kissed him on the cheek! I JUST KISSED HIM, RIGHT THERE ON THE CHEEK IN FRONT OF LIKE 50 PEOPLE, INCLUDIND CAMERAS. He smiled, and I thanked him and Scooter a billion times and then he went back inside. I didn’t even know what to do I just started crying of happiness. Scooter also teased me saying “I saw that!” and I was like, “What, me kissing him?” and he said “No, he kissed YOU BACK!” I though I was going to faint at that point! I thanked Scooter again and again and all of his crew, I was so out of control hahaha. I called my parents crying, my friend who was inside, and everyone else I could. The concert was by far the best night of my life and the biggest miracle I ever could have asked for. Seeing the scene played on commercials, in the movie, on perezhilton.com, etc. was just mind-blowing. Once again, thank you Scooter Braun, Jus tin, and the rest of his team. You all are amazing.
