Empire Season 3 Episode 7 Recap: Did Angelo’s Mother Warm To Cookie?

Cookie Lyon is a romantic woman, you guys! On Empire Season 3 Episode 7 , Cookie was struggling with her feelings after recounting how her father died, while trying to impress Angelo’s mother.  This paved the way for some flashbacks which gave us the reveal that Cookie was thrown out of her home due to her dealings with Lucious.  As much as she tried to apologize to her father for betraying him, he just couldn’t trust her any more. He died three days later following a heart attack and a video Jamal created showed us just how much he meant to her.  Cookie did not want to mourn the loss of her father, and it’s pretty clear she only did so after all these years. That resulted in her missing a meeting with Angelo and his mother.  When Cookie tried to make things right with Angelo, she got rid of some “hood rats” who were hanging around him because he was alone.  Angelo said the best way to apologize to his mother would be with the family by her side. She agreed, but her family did not want to go to the dinner because they didn’t want to be fake.  Jamal went to Carol to find out the truth about his grandfather, forcing her to reveal the truth about the way he died.  Cookie went to Candace when she realized she was way out of her depth with Angelo’s mother. She wanted to act posh and proper, so Candace schooled her on how to be a lady, while throwing some insults at the Trumps.  When Cookie kicked off her dinner party, she got the shock of her life when Lucious and Anika showed up after Hakeem stole the baby. Lucious took great pride in running his family into the ground.  He called out Jamal for being gay and Andre for being crazy. It was horrific and showed just how much of an ass Lucious could be. He was only doing it to make sure Cookie had no one to love her so he could swoop in and get her back.  Unfortunately for him, Angelo’s mother understood what Cookie was going through and requested that she did not hurt her son. And just like that, they were friends.  Poor Cookie thought it was going to get her on her side. Heck, even Angelo offered Cookie some nookie for being such a good girlfriend.  View Slideshow: 15 Highest Paid Actors on TV: Who’s #1? Elsewhere, Nessa, Andre and Shine conspired against Lucious and brought Freda Gatz back into the fold in a big way. Just when Nessa thought Andre was using her, he brought Freda in and they were all fine.  Freda sung a duet with Nessa in which they trashed the Lyons. It was horrible, but it showed that there was no way Andre was going to be back in cahoots with his family any time soon.  All things considered, it was a weak episode with very little plot progression. Lucious seems to be getting hot under the collar for Anika again and I don’t think I can take them seriously as a couple again.  The second half of the season will need to be AMAZING to make up for the crap fest the first half has been. Ben and Lauren Season 1 Episode 8 Recap: Vegas, Baby!

On  Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After? Season 1 Episode 7 , the couple and friends hit Vegas for bachelor and bachelorette parties.  Together, yet not together forever … yet. If you  watch Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After? online , you know that they have a long way to go … and this week was no exception. Going to Vegas was always going to be a testing time for Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell. They have had a whirlwind few weeks, with a lot of arguing.  That was all put to the side after they helped someone fix their home up last week, but did it was away all of their pain? We kicked off with the couple heading to Vegas for their bachelor and bachelorette parties. The odd thing about the party was that barely anyone knew about the pair calling off their wedding.  When Ben met up with his bros, he informed them that he and Lauren had been undergoing couple’s therapy to try and get back to the great couple they once were. Lauren didn’t cave to her gal pals. Instead, the twins did it for her. This made Lauren happy because she did not have to run through everything yet again.  Basically, the whole point of the episode was to bring Ben and Lauren back together in a big way. It was pathetic and blatantly scripted, but we’re a sucker for a happy ending.  When their Vegas trip was coming to a close, their close friends and family surprised them with a display of the couple in happier times to show just how far they have come together.  This paved the way for Ben to reveal the wedding was very much back on and a huge party kicked off. There was loads of alcohol, drunken chats. It was a true Hollywood ending.  “I think we’re going to plan a wedding,” Ben said. Lauren added, “I think we’ll live happily ever after.” Now, we don’t know what’s next for the couple, but there could be a second season of the show. That would probably involve kicking the cheesy post-show tagline.  It’s pointless and adds nothing to the show. There will need to be a lot of changes to keep viewers interested in another season of the show.  The twins can stay, but can we please ditch the consistent Bachelor alumni from showing up? Do these people not have friends outside of that circle? Another season could be good, but only if producers dial back how goofy the show is. We love you, Ben and Lauren, but we hate how manufactured your show is.  What did you think of the finale? Sound off below! View Slideshow: Lauren Bushnell: Ben Higgins’ Bachelor Bride-to-Be!

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 3 Recap: Plan B

Will the residents of Mystic Falls ever find happiness? That was a key question on The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 3 when Sybil put a plan in motion to get Damon and Enzo away from the ladies in their lives.  We kicked things off with Sybil changing the memory of the car crash that killed Elena’s parents. It was a heartbreaking scene, that signaled the return of Liz Forbes.  Sybil made Damon think Elena died in the car crash, but Damon didn’t care because Sybil had already wiped her from existence in his memory.  Sybil then tried to get Enzo to switch off his humanity, but she quickly realized she would need to take Bonnie out of the equation if she had any hope of taking the two men on as her soldiers.  Caroline and Bonnie were in a bridal store, trying to find dresses for the wedding, but Damon showed up and ruined the fun. Caroline managed to overpower him, and they made their escape.  The two friends hit up the Salvatore mansion, but Stefan had already removed the weapons so the house was not full of hazards for the kids.  Stefan was busy working with Alaric to try and find a way to take Sybil down, but things were pretty awkward between them.  Stefan got a phone call to go meet Damon, but he was scared Damon was going to try trick him into something.  When they met up, Damon asked Stefan to help him, but he couldn’t reveal what the plan was. When he opened his trunk, Enzo was unconscious.  View Slideshow: 17 Television Characters Who Have Served Their Country Sybil showed up at the Salvatore mansion and told Caroline and Bonnie that Damon would be fighting to the death with Enzo and the winner would be her soldier.  Sybil was being surprisingly civil with the two ladies. It seemed like the two of them were going to die, but Sybil let them in on the plan. They set off for the fight, but Bonnie got sick of Sybil and put her through the windscreen of the car.  When they got to the fight, Sybil arrived and told the two men to stop fighting, before turning Enzo’s humanity switch off. She then gave Bonnie a head start to run off before Damon caught her.  Alaric stepped in with the pitchfork and hit it. It made Sybil fall to the ground and the team swooped in to kidnap her. They succeeded, but she could still contact Damon from the armory.  Damon then set off to cause a world of destruction. He went for Tyler Lockwood and actually murdered him. You guys, Damon is completely freaking crazy.  There’s really no turning back from what he’s done now and even Alaric thinks that saving him is a lost cause. Sybil may be captured, but she still has a whole lot of control.  View Slideshow: 24 Shocking TV Deaths Bonnie is now faced with the tough task of trying to get Enzo back to being good, but will she really manage to save him? I mean, we’re only three episodes into the final season, so there’s still a lot of story left to tell.  It sure seems like Stefan and Alaric could have a bond as strong as Dalaric, but we’ll need to wait and see how the rest of the season plays out.  Hit the comments below with your take on the events.  If you want to relive this GREAT season, you can watch The Vampire Diaries online via TV Fanatic.
