“Black Ink Chicago” Exclusive: Ryan Speaks On “Deading” Relationship With Old 9 Mag Staff, But Guess Who He May Reconcile With?!

VH1 9 Mag Founder Ryan Henry Speaks On His Rocky Relationships With His Former Staff And His Current Relationship Status The 4th Season of “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” definitely got off to a rocky start, with 9 Mag now fractured between Ryan’s old team and his new one, so BOSSIP had to reach out and chop it up with Ryan Henry about what’s been going on since the end of Season 3, including whether there’s any hope of reconciliation and to learn whether or not he has managed to make things right with Rachel. BOSSIP: What have the reactions been like since the first episode of the season aired? Ryan Henry: The reactions have been all over the place. People have been with the show since Season 1. There’s a lot of different characters on the show and everyone is not gonna be in tune with whatever decision I decide to make. It’s been a ride though and there’s people who are still supporting from Season 1 and Season 2, so with Season 4 I really appreciate those people who are so supportive. BOSSIP: Glad to hear you’re holding up because that criticism can be hard to take. RH: I’m solid, I’m from Chicago. BOSSIP: Let’s get into the way the last season ended, how did you feel about Kat putting you on blast on TV? RH: People are gonna take it how they wanna take it. I don’t fault her for how she felt needed to go about it as a woman. I don’t have no hard feelings towards her I wish her the best. How did that affect your situation with Rachel off camera? RH: When things like that comes to light, I had to do what I needed to do to make sure things are right in my household. I’ve known Rachel 15 years of my life and she has my children. That’s not someone trying to make you act different, that’s just someone who cares about my life seeing something and wanting me to work on it for me to be better. Do you feel like Charmaine was disloyal? RH: I never felt that Charmaine was disloyal. I’m gonna give it to her just like I’d give it to Danielle. We brought you in the shop initially as Kat’s friends and when it was time for me to remove myself from those people, if they had to pick sides I couldn’t ask them to pick my side. If that woman and I weren’t in a comfortable space together I wouldn’t want her to come back and work whenever she wanted. She didn’t even live in Chicago, she lived in LA. So after we have a bad run in I’m not gonna say “Hey, come back and work whenever you want.” Like right now, we shouldn’t be working together. So for them to go against what I say for this business, that’s where I felt the disrespect. But that’s what I expect from them, those are Kat’s friends. In terms of the cast overall, who do you still have a relationship with? RH: Me and Phor, we went to high school together. That’s always been my brother, since before tattooing, and his brother Don had to handle what he had to do for business, but they always been my brothers. Even Danielle, I talked to Danielle, there’s no hard feelings. It looked like I just turned my back on everybody and they left me, but it gets hard over there too! There’s a lot that you’ll see on this new season. Did you want to clear the air at all, about the way the shop was destroyed? RH: You see what happened, you see what was implied, you only get 42 minutes to get a whole story on television. I would never admit to doing something as heinous as thatk, but you know things happen. If people wanna blame me for that, just like they’d try to blame me for something else, I ain’t locked up so, PROVE IT. Do you feel like “Black Ink” ruined 9Mag? RH: I don’t think it ruined 9 Mag. 9 Mag is the experience people get when they walk in to get a tattoo, it’s a great representation of Chicago and will continue to be that. I do feel like it ruined the relationships between people. That may be my fault because I brought people together to grow and be something better than themselves. Everybody can’t handle it. So what is the status of the new 9Mag? RH: Even in the first episode, what made people think it looked like I walked away, 9Mag is not that building, it’s wherever we take the experience, so stay tuned and you’ll see what’s coming for the new 9Mag. So is the shop open and ready right now? RH: I’m always working, but the shop will be open very soon and you’ll see we’re pretty much live with it. As it airs is as we’re opening. Hit the flip to find out what Ryan had to say about the status of his relationship with Rachel and whether he’s open to reconciling with any of his former team.

Eminem Panics Crowd with Gunshot Sound Effects, Isn’t Sorry

Last year, viewers  slammed Eminem's performance . They called him a hack and a has been. Hey, everone's a critic, right? Now, however, he's being criticized for something much more serious — for setting off gunshot noises at his concert. The crowd visibly ducked in fear. And he's getting dragged for making thousands of people think that they were about to die in a hail of bullets. The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, most often known as Bonnaroo, isa  four-day music festival that takes place each summer in Manchester, Tennessee. If you live in Tennessee or any of the surrounding states, this is the festival that your friends who are willing to brave musicals attend each year. Unfortunately, some concert-goers received a serious fright. During his song, “Kill You,” pyrotechnics produced a chillingly realistic gunshot noise. So much so that, as you can see in the video that we included, the crowd was ducking in fear. The video quickly circulated on Twitter, inciting outrage. “Less than a year after Vegas and  @ Eminem  thinks it’s a good idea to blast gun shot sfx onstage at a music festival? Bad call on this headliner  @ bonnaroo . What happened to Radiate Positivity?” The  Las Vegas shooting  that claimed dozens of lives and wounded hundreds took place at the beginning of last October. Many of the victims had attended a Jason Aldean concert. For concert-goers to hear very realistic gunshot noises … it seems very natural for so many of them to instinctively fear for their lives. That doesn't sound like a good time. Eminem is no stranger to controversy. His team responded that these were not actual “gunshot” noises, but pyrotechnic concussion effects featuring a sonic boom. That seems like splitting hairs, but whatever. As always, his diehard fans were eager to jump to his defense. One person took to Twitter to refer to a previous performance of “Kill You.” “You can hear the same sound at the end you idiots. Watch some Eminem performance before going to one.” That's a little harsh. “So you grew up listening to Eminem but you didn’t expect gun shot sounds on his set.” Well, some would argue that it's a different experience when mass shootings are so common. “The gunshot actually makes the performance 10 times better.” We'll take that person's word for it. Some have argued that legislation should curtail this sort of element within a performance. There would be legal precedent. A famous First Amendment exception to free speech is using that speech to do harm, such as shouting “fire” in a crowded theater. Many would say that Eminem setting off such realistic sounding gunshots is the equivalent, and could provoke the crowd to trample each other in fear. After all, actual mass shootings occur multiple times per week, thanks to the widespread and virtually unchecked availability of tools designed for killing. Gunshots in music online or in other media (such as films) is different, as it comes with a visual context and is not usually consumed in massive, dense crowds of people who are standing shoulder-to-shoulder. Are gunshot effects in concerts a threat to concert-goers? Were Eminem's diehard defenders right to criticize fans for freaking out at the sounds of gunshots, since they were expected by many as part of the show? Or were concert-goers right to react instinctively — better safe than sorry — and were critics right to condemn the use of the sounds? Maybe the problem has nothing to do with the audience, the critics, or even Eminem. Maybe living every single day with the knowledge that we could die in a hail of bullets while going to a theater or using mass transit or attending school or a house of worship is the culprit. Perhaps fixing our nation's gun culture and gun epidemic will help to repair some of the other fractures and conflicts in our society. And people won't have any reason to fear attending a concert.

Briana DeJesus: Is She Neglecting Her Daughter?!

Ever since Briana DeJesus joined the cast of Teen Mom 2, her storyline has been more about relationships than actually being a mom. Last season, we saw her dealing with Luis Miguel, a guy who impregnated her after a hookup. They tried to give dating a go, but it didn't work out, and things got so messy between them that at one point Briana was even contemplating placing their child for adoption . We also saw her struggle to coparent with Devoin Austin, the father of her older daughter, Nova. He wanted to spend more time with Nova, but Briana didn't feel comfortable with it, and then Briana's mother, Roxanne, climbed on a table in a restaurant to berate him. It was a lot to take in, to say the least. This season, Luis seems to be nearly completely out of the picture, and Devoin hasn't been able to step up , either. Or at least, that seems to be the case — the vast, vast majority of Briana's story this season has been her relationship with Javi Marroquin and her feud with Kailyn Lowry .   The point of all this is to say that unlike some of the other moms, Briana's children haven't really been a focus on the show, not really. Until now, that is. In this heartbreaking sneak peek for tonight's new episode, Briana's finished her maternity leave and is back at her day job, so her sister and her mother are home caring for her children. Brittany tends to baby Stella while Roxanne sits down with Nova to do some schoolwork, and she decides to have a conversation about their home life, too. “Hey, let me ask you something,” she says. “You excited about your mom going back to work?” Nova nods, but when Roxanne asks her if she'll miss her, she says no. And when she asks her why, she says “Because she doesn't like taking care of me, she likes taking care of Stella.” “You think she likes to take care of Stella?” Roxanne asks. “But wait wait wait wait wait, you know why she takes care of Stella, right?” Nova says that she knows Stella is a baby, and Roxanne tells her that she still takes care of her anyway, and so does Grandma and Ti Ti. “But Ti Ti doesn't because she's too lazy,” Nova whispers as Brittany drinks some juice in the background. “A little bit,” she acknowledges, “but I take care of you, right? So you have a lot of us taking care of you.” Unfortunately, Nova doesn't seem too convinced. Obviously, this is totally normal — Briana's not doing anything wrong here. Nova is feeling a little jealous of her baby sister, but Briana has to give her a different kind of attention, and good on her for not quitting her job even though she's back on MTV. Still, this is really sad to see. Nova is so sweet, so to see her hurting is tough. Hopefully when we see the full episode, Briana will help to make her feel a little better with all the changes going on in their family. In the meantime, let poor little Nova break your heart, too, by watching the clip below:

Source: Paras Griffin / Getty Insecure is one of those shows that you simply must. tune. into. And it looks like season 3 is going to get even spicier when it drops on August 12. In a recent interview, Issa Rae let it be known that she’s about to take it there . She told The Hollywood Reporter  the upcoming season will address toxic masculinity and adulting, so we hope everyone can handle having to take a look in the mirror. She tells the publication, “I don’t want to give anything away! But I love black masculinity as it relates to black women. I think that’s something interesting that we haven’t gotten a chance to explore yet — and specifically toxic male black masculinity as it relates to black women. I’m trying to find a way to explore that and get a rounded storyline that isn’t preachy.” Issa adds, “This season is about adulting in a new way. I think we’ve watched our characters really fumble and fuck up — and in some ways in your 20s you are allowed that — but this season is about not acting like you’re naive anymore or that you don’t know better. So it is about, what does it look like to know better and to do better?” As for where she draws inspiration for the Insecure storyline, Issa reveals “I’m definitely mining experiences from my own life, especially for my character. And then we tap into the lives and instances and moments a bunch of our writers bring to the room, as well. I think that’s a fun part — everybody has a piece of their life in the show.” Hit THR for Issa’s full interview and get excited for her return to your living room later this summer. Counting On Promotes New Season Without Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard, Fans Flip Out!

Great news for fans of Counting On: it’s less than a month now until the new season premieres! We’ve got some bad news for fans of Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard though … Back in November, we learned that Derick had been fired from the show after repeatedly making offensive remarks about Jazz Jennings, the star of another show on TLC. Jazz is also a child, by the way. His comments had to do with the fact that Jazz is transgender, which he considers to be “a myth.” “Gender is not fluid,” he tweeted at one point. “It’s ordained by God.” When he got some backlash for that comment, he dug his hole a little deeper, tweeting “I want to be clear. I have nothing against him. I only have issue with the words and definitions being propagated here.” Except he referred to Jazz as a “him,” not a “her,” which is disrespectful and hurtful and there’s no way he didn’t know that. He made those comments in August, and in the following months, he continued to make ignorant statements about Jazz and the transgender community as a whole. Then, in November, he tweeted ” I pity Jazz, 4 those who take advantage of him in order 2 promote their agenda, including the parents who allow these kinds of decisions 2 be made by a child.” “It’s sad that ppl would use a juvenile this way. Again, nothing against him, just unfortunate what’s on tv these days.” He was right about one thing: it is unfortunate what’s on TV these days. Thankfully, TLC helped solve a bit of this problem by firing Derick soon after those statements. Since then, he’s claimed that he wasn’t actually fired , that he just decided that it would be best if he and his family began “heading in a different direction.” *Insert “Sure, Jan” gif here* We have our doubts about that, but it’s clear that whatever happened, Derick and Jill really won’t be appearing on Counting On anymore. The Duggar family’s Facebook page just shared a promotional image from the upcoming season of the show, and we see Jessa, Joy-Anna, and Jinger cozying up to their husbands. Where are Jill and Derick? Trying to think up a way to make a GoFundMe page without getting heaps of backlash for begging fans for money , we guess — whatever it is, it certainly doesn’t look like they’re filming a reality show anymore. It’s nice to see that the Dillards are gone, and that while TLC hesitates to let the Duggar family go completely, they still won’t tolerate the kind of nonsense that Derick spews. But as it turns out, many, many fans of this family disagree with that — and they took to the Facebook post to address this. “Utterly ridiculous that TLC removed Jill & Derick everyone is entitled to free speech we may not agree but still no reason to remove them from the show!!” one person wrote. That’s not how freedom of speech works, but OK, sure. “I wasn’t aware that bullying was defined by disagreeing,” someone else commented. “Such a double standard with anything that is conservative. Such a sad thing. Freedom of speech only applies if your not conservative.” … Seriously, do they not teach this stuff in school anymore? Considering that another person wrote “I think everyone should have freedom of speech and Derick could say what he wants to say and that is freedom of speech…”, we’d wager that they don’t. Yet another Dillard fan complained that “You can believe multiple spouses are fine and get a show on TLC. You can believe it is fine for a boy to live as a girl and have a show on TLC.” “You CANNOT voice your deeply held beliefs based on Biblical principles and remain on a show on TLC.” Another wrote “It is a shame how it is ok to bully anyone Duggar but they can’t have an opinion or a voice. I think the Dillards are awesome and will keep up with them on their social media accounts.” None of these people see an issue with what Derick said? They all think it’s cool that he went after a 16-year-old girl, and they don’t understand why TLC may have had an issue with that? It’s a scary, scary world out there. Catelynn Lowell: Back In Rehab Just Weeks After Leaving Treatment

Many Teen Mom OG fans are expressing concern on social media today in response to news that Catelynn Lowell will be checking back into rehab to seek further treatment for trauma and other emotional issues. But perhaps they shouldn’t be worried. After all, Catelynn doesn’t seem to be. Don’t get us wrong–we’re sure she’s sad to once again be parting ways with her daughter and husband for an extended period of time. But she also appears to appreciate this development for what it is–a chance to find a treatment plan that will work for her long-term, and allow her to be the best wife, mother, and entrepreneur she can be. “Well they say third time’s a charm,” Lowell tweeted. “I’m going back to treatment people for 6 weeks to work on my trauma and getting on different meds.” Addressing her husband, Tyler Baltierra, Catelynn added: “THANK YOU @TylerBaltierra I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!! You are my light!! And nova you are my sunshine #KeepTalkingMH.” The hashtag is part of a social media movement to encourage productive conversation about the challenges and stigmas surrounding mental illness. Shortly after her message was posted, Catelynn re-tweeted her TMOG co-star Amber Portwood, who wrote: “Sometimes it takes a strong man to pick up a broken woman.” Lowell checked into rehab back on November 17 after revealing to her Twitter followers that she had been struggling with suicidal thoughts. “I’m taking the time I need right now to take good care of myself,” she told Radar Online at the time. “On November 17, I thought of every way possible to commit suicide, from wrapping a belt around my neck to just running my car into an electric pole.” Catelynn left the facility on December 29 after six weeks of treatment. She left rehab with an extensive plan to maintain her mental health, informing her social media followers that she had quit drinking and using drugs , and would be pursuing a proactive treatment program. “She’s going to be doing their regular therapy, couple’s therapy and outpatient,” said a source close to Lowell. Of course, as anyone who’s ever struggled with mental health knows, recovery is rarely a straight path. We wish Catelynn all the best and hope that she’s able to find the help she needs. Watch Teen Mom OG online for more on Catelynn’s courageous struggle. View Slideshow: Catelynn Lowell Checks into Rehab AGAIN: What Happened?!
