Top Chef is off to New Orleans. After spending time in cities such as New York, Seattle and Los Angeles, Bravo announced this week that the cooking competition will head to The Big Easy for Season 11. “Bravo Media’s Top Chef, in partnership with the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation and the Louisiana Office of Tourism, are pleased to announce that the new season of the Emmy and James Beard Award-winning show will take place in New Orleans,” the network said in a statement Friday. “The vibrant food scene of New Orleans will be a welcome addition in the 11th season of the series.” It’s safe to assume some hot and spicy Cajun recipes are on the way. Bravo has not announced a premiere date yet Top Chef Season 11.

Mother Charged After 4 Children Die In Mobile Home Fire A 21-year-old woman whose four young children died from inhaling smoke during a mobile home fire that occurred while they were left alone has now been charged with homicide and neglect in connection with their deaths. via USA Today A 21-year-old mother of four whose children died in a mobile home fire was charged Friday in connection with their deaths. Darlington County sheriff’s deputies arrested Hope Hawkins of Hartsville, S.C., on Thursday, a day after her children ages 10 months to 4 years old were found dead from smoke inhalation in a closet in a bedroom after her kitchen caught fire. She did not arrive at home until firefighters arrived at the scene and put out the fire, investigators said. It took firefighters less than 10 minutes to put out the fire. Hawkins was first charged with one count of unlawful neglect of a child Thursday. Hours later, Sheriff Wayne Byrd added three more counts totaling four counts of homicide by child abuse. Sisters Myasia and Kynasia Hawkins, 10 months; and their brothers, Camaron Mason, 2, and Delonta Dixon, 4, died Wednesday. This is so heartbreaking….these poor children. Dad Laces Cookies With Meth According to Mail Online A father is accused of spiking cookies with meth and feeding them to his children so his wife would fail a drug test, it emerged today. Chad M. Holm, 37, from Des Moines, Washington, is accused of giving the drug-laced cookies to his five and seven-year-old sons who then both tested positive for meth. He is also accused of forging a drug test result to mask his substance abuse which would be used in an upcoming custody trial. According to Seattle Pi, Holm was married to the mother of his children for several years before they split up in April 2011. They would often use meth together. The two boys were placed with Holm while the mother went through a voluntary drug program. She was clean for almost a year until she tested positive for meth in September, though she claims she had not taken any drugs. She then remembered the cookies her sons had brought home that ‘tasted terrible’. She said she and her five-year-old son split one cookie but could not eat it all because it tasted funny. The woman suspected Holm or his girlfriend were trying to sabotage her perfect drug test record before the upcoming child custody trial. A leftover part of the cookie was tested and confirmed the presence of meth. Holm denied spiking the cookies and denied that he used the drug or even had it in his possession. When police combed through past drug test results submitted by Holm, they found he had forged the test results before submitting them to the court. For filing the alleged forgery, prosecutors have charged the 37-year-old with second-degree perjury. No one has been charged in the apparent drugging of the young boys. On her Facebook page today, the mother congratulated herself on being one year sober. She wrote: ‘I want to say thank you to my family and friends for standing by my side now that I’m sober, and for not backing me up while I was stuck in my sickness. A Seattle barista apparently got fired after starting a blog in which he made snarky comments about his boss and some of the customers he didn’t like. All City Coffee employee Matt Watson was ousted as the author of the blog “Bitter Barista” this week by another coffee site, Sprudge (dot) com. That led his boss to fire him, according to the Seattle Times . In the blog, the 30-year-old wrote that his vocabulary is too complex for his boss to understand, and how he doesn’t give customers what they order. A couple of gems from the Bitter Barista: “If you remind me four times that you’ve ordered decaf, guess what you won’t be getting … ” “I would probably remember your usual drink if you were a more memorable person.” “I like to use a lot of big words when I tweet, that way if my boss ever finds my twitter account, he won’t understand any of it.” Watson said his blog was satire and merely accentuating the “5 percent who I guess make our job more difficult and don’t treat us as human beings.” “I had a good personal relationship with 95 percent of customers,” he said. Watson says he actually thought very highly of his boss , Seth Levy. The New Jersey native has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and moved to Seattle “following a girl.” He worked at the coffee shop to make ends meet. He is pursuing a career as a hip hop artist under the moniker “Spekulation.” Watson started his Bitter Barista blog about two weeks ago, garnering a few thousand hits a day. He made no mention of All City Coffee or his real name. But the operators of Sprudge put it together after Watson said what he was doing in his Spekulation tweets, and he was unmasked. And then fired.

King County prosecutors contend Sharee N. Seminole attacked her newborn baby’s father following an argument at their Seattle home on Jan. 6. Seminole, 25, is also alleged to have bitten a firefighter and threatened to kill a police officer while fighting them – with her infant daughter still attached to her – during her arrest. At 5:40 p.m. the day of her arrest, Seminole and the man were standing near the intersection of 25th Avenue South and South Jackson Street when Seminole yelled at her boyfriend. The couple’s 2-week-old baby was in a carrier strapped to Seminole at the time. Here’s the play-by-play of the fade. Weighing in at 270 pounds, Seminole was able to throw her boyfriend to the ground, a Seattle detective told the court, recounting witness statements. Several residents witnessed the incident. Seminole then began kicking the man in the chest, Senior Deputy Prosecutor Stephanie F. Guthrie told the court. Seminole, the prosecutor went on, “continued to scream at the victim and then began stomping on his face.” The defendant stomped on the man’s face at least eight times, knocking him out while seriously injuring his face, Guthrie alleged. Confronted by a witness, Seminole asked “You know how many times he’s kicked me?” before breaking off her attack, the detective said in court documents. Seminole left the scene before police arrived. According to charging documents, she was arrested after leaving a nearby convenience store, where she’d bought a bag of Funyuns. LMFAO! What the hell does Funyuns have to do with ANYTHING?! This girthy heffa wasn’t done there though, her reign of terror continued when the cops showed up. Writing the court, the detective said Seminole was belligerent when confronted by officers. Her speech slurred, Seminole refused to cooperate with police and struggled with officers even though her newborn daughter was still strapped to her chest. “Two officers started to escort her to a patrol car but she immediately stiffened and grabbed the baby carrier,” the detective told the court. “Fearing for the safety of the baby, officers tried to free the baby but Seminole put up a huge fight.” Seminole then bit a firefighter and attempted to kick another during the arrest, the detective continued. Later, after being placed in a holding cell, Seminole is alleged to have mouthed “I’m gonna kill you” to a police officer. Isn’t the kush legal in Seattle now?
