Eva Longoria and Mark Sanchez: Relationship Incomplete!

Mark Sanchez has reportedly lost twice this week; first in overtime to the rival New England Patriots on Sunday, and now when it comes to Eva Longoria. The Jets quarterback is no longer hitting the gorgeous actress with any fly patterns… if you know what we mean! “Mark adores and respects Eva,” Sanchez’s rep tells Us Weekly . “It really was about scheduling more than anything else. They will remain close friends.” Longoria went public with her seconds professional sports dalliance (she was married to Spurs point guard Tony Parker, of course) in September, while the two had been spotted out multiple times in NYC. “There was no drama,” another insider tells the tabloid. “They just have completely different schedules and lifestyles.” It’s true. Longoria is used to winning. Sanchez? Not so much.

30 Seconds To Mars, Linkin Park Face Elimination In Musical March Madness

With Sweet 16 voting set to close at tonight at midnight, battles between several MMM heavyweights are too close to call! By James Montgomery 30 Seconds To Mars’ Jared Leto Photo: Getty Images When we tipped off the Musical March Madness Sweet 16 on Monday, we told you that things were about to get interesting … and, well, we weren’t lying. Because as our bracket got smaller, only the best of the best remained. And with so many big-name bands still alive in the quest for the MMM championship — heavyweights like Green Day, Linkin Park, Paramore and Evanescence — the matchups were only going to get tougher. We knew that this was the round where the mighty would begin to fall. And, after one day of voting, that looks like it’s going to be the case. Sure, there’s still time to help your favorites advance to the next round — voting in all Sweet 16 matchups closes tonight at midnight ET — but with just hours to go, there are plenty of MMM favorites who are teetering on the brink of total elimination … and even more matchups that are just too close to call. Here’s an update from deep inside Musical March Madness headquarters. Vote for your favorite band, discuss and share on Facebook and Twitter in the MTV Musical March Madness interactive bracket! #2 Paramore vs. #6 30 Seconds to Mars We knew right away that this was going to be one for the ages, and so far, the tilt between Paramore and 30 STM has lived up to the hype. Spurred on by their fanatic fanbases, the two bands have been exchanging the lead for 24 hours now; early Tuesday, the Echelon helped boost Jared Leto and company to a rather commanding lead, but the Para-clan have rallied, and with less than 10 hours to go before polls close, it’s Paramore who now cling to a slim lead. But we do mean slim: With nearly 1 million votes cast, it’s Paramore by less than 4,000 … so really, this one is going to come right down to the wire. Can Paramore move one step closer to avenging last year’s championship game loss , or will 30 Seconds to Mars finally make it to the Elite 8 (after two Sweet 16 heartbreakers?) It’s up to you to decide … and we can’t wait to see who comes out on top in this thriller. #1 Evanescence vs. #5 Linkin Park As the last remaining #1 seed in the MMM tournament, Evanescence’s march to the championship game seemed all but assured … until they ran into tourney-tested Linkin Park, who had a sizeable chip on their shoulders after last year’s Sweet 16 defeat. Like Paramore/30 STM, this one pits two rabid fanbases against each other, and the back-and-forth results speak for themselves. Upset-minded Linkin Park jumped out to the early lead, but as Tuesday wore on, Evanescence seized the momentum, and with hours to go, it’s Amy Lee and the crew up by some 5,000 votes (with more than 600,000 cast). If LP want to advance, they’re going to have to stage a late rally … because right now, it’s looking very bleak indeed. Still, as the past day has shown us, you can’t count them out just yet. #5 Green Day vs. #16 James Durbin The defending MMM champs are getting all they can handle from this year’s giant-killer, “American Idol” fave James Durbin. Having already knocked off #1 Foo Fighters and #8 Best Coast, Durbin looks to follow in the footsteps of #16 Sum 41, who made an improbable run to the Elite 8 in last year’s tourney. He fell behind early, but in true underdog fashion, Durbin’s been rallying all day … and he’s closing the gap by the minute. Can he shock the world? Did Green Day get too complacent? How many bandanas will Durbin wave triumphantly if he manages to advance? All of those questions and more will be answered in the coming hours, but right now, there’s the potential for a huge upset brewing here. Is your favorite band still alive in the Sweet 16? Do you want to avenge an early exit? Well, get voting … polls in the Sweet 16 close tonight at midnight ET, and then we’ll head on to the Elite 8! The MMM title is within reach, and you can determine who’ll grab it. MTV’s 2012 Musical March Madness tournament has reached the Sweet 16! Voting runs until midnight ET on Tuesday, March 27, and winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite act is still alive, it’ll be up to you to guide them to glory. You can rally the troops on Twitter using the hashtag #MMM or by downloading one of our custom badges — but get ready, it only gets more difficult from here on out. 30 Seconds To Mars Make History At Triumphant Show

Band entered the Guinness Book of World Records on Wednesday night at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom. By James Montgomery Jared Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars Photo: MTV News NEW YORK — For a band that, over the past three years, has been no stranger to adversity — everything from battles with their label to scraps with censors and the occasional stage collapse — 30 Seconds to Mars had probably never had to deal with the kind of trouble that occurred during the encore of their record-setting show Wednesday night in New York. During the crashing crescendo of “Kings and Queens,” a female fan was crushed against a barricade and required immediate medical assistance. “Queens” was the final song of the band’s set, which was preceded by a lengthy presentation from the folks at Guinness World Records, who honored 30STM for Most Shows Played During An Album Cycle (309 was Guinness’ count). Jared Leto invited fans to join them onstage for the finale. Spirits were high inside the Hammerstein Ballroom, and as “Queens” unfolded, they only got higher … until Leto stopped the song and asked for medics to tend to the injured fan. After 20 solemn minutes, EMTs carried her away on a stretcher. “As soon as she got oxygen, she sat up and is doing OK,” 30STM’s management told MTV News after the show. After getting the all-clear, 30 Seconds to Mars undauntedly finished the song and the night ended with the crowd triumphantly chanting its “woah-oh-oh” hook while streamers fell from the ceiling. And not to downplay the severity of the situation, but it helped illustrate everything that made 30 Seconds to Mars’ record-setting run with This Is War so unique. Their ability to overcome obstacles, their willingness to push on, and the otherworldly bond they share with their fans — displayed best when drummer Shannon Leto left the stage to assist the EMTs. The band had already played more than 300 shows, and yet, they still pushed hard on Wednesday, imbuing songs like “Search and Destroy” and “Night of the Hunter” with walloping guitars, anthemic sing-along choruses and washes of spooky synths. Jared sprinted up and down the catwalk stage (not easy to do in a huge black cloak), shined a massive spotlight into the crowd to illuminate fans’ faces, and even performed a few acoustic numbers mid-set. Shannon pounded his kit as sweat flew, and guitarist Tomo Milicevic crunched chords and charmed ethereal soundscapes out of his ax. It could have been show number one, not the final gig of a two-year trek. Of course, 30STM’s fans matched, if not doubled, the band’s enthusiasm. There were signs in the audience touting the Detroit chapter of the Echelon, and at one point, Leto brought a fan onstage who had traveled all the way from Maryland. Every chorus was sung back to the band loudly, each massive chant repeated at top volume, and the opening chords of each new song greeted with squeals of delight. Fans reached skyward as confetti fell, and ooh-ed and aah-ed as lasers shot from the stage. This was definitely a celebration, in just about every conceivable way. Not surprisingly, the band seemed genuinely touched and a tad nostalgic. Jared told fans that the Guinness award was theirs, too, shouting, “I want everyone in here to carry this with them for the rest of their lives,” as he thrust the certificate above his head. As if their record-setting tour didn’t already tip you off to it, the rather frightening delay proved that 30STM are a band seemingly at their best when forced to push on. And on. And on. 30 Seconds To Mars Go For Guinness World Record

December 7 show at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom would set record for Most Shows Performed During a Single Album Cycle. By James Montgomery Shannon Leto, Jared Leto, and Tomo Milicevic of 30 Seconds to Mars Photo: Taylor Hill/ FilmMagic 30 Seconds to Mars released This Is War in December 2009 and have spent basically every waking moment since on the road promoting it (when they weren’t making 15-minute, NFSW mini-movies , of course). To date, they’ve played shows on six continents, and now, all that touring will earn them a place in the “Guinness Book of World Records.” On December 7, 30STM will perform their 300th — and final — show in support of War, at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom. And when that gig is completed, they’ll officially set the record for Most Shows Performed During a Single Album Cycle. That’s according to a press release issued Monday (October 17) by the band’s spokesperson, which touts the show as “a special Tribus Centum Numerarae concert” and promises that “the band is also planning a special week of unique shows celebrating this milestone, beginning on December 5.” “We have been on the road for an incredible and insane two years and thought what better way to celebrate the end of this phenomenal journey than with a week of special shows in New York City,” 30STM frontman Jared Leto said in a statement. “We thought documenting this for posterity with the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ would be fun especially as we aren’t any good at growing our fingernails very long or cultivating the world’s largest squash.” Don’t downplay a giant squash, dude. Tickets for the record-setting show are now available in an exclusive fan-club pre-sale through the band’s website , with tickets being made available to the general public beginning Saturday at 10 a.m. ET. Will you be at the record-setting show? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists 30 Seconds To Mars
