Chelsea Clinton is a mother for the first time. The global activist and former First Daughter, 34, welcomed a baby girl with her husband Marc Mezvinsky! “Marc and I are full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky,” Clinton wrote late Friday night. Months after announcing she and Mezvinsky hoped to make 2014 the “Year of the Baby,” Chelsea, confirmed in April that the couple were expecting. “I certainly feel all the better whether it’s a girl or a boy that she or he will grow up in world filled with so many strong female leaders,” she said. Appropriately, Bill and Hillary Clinton’s only child made the announcement at a Clinton Foundation event for the empowerment of girls and young women. Her mom, the former Secretary of State, has been excited for the arrival, stockpiling kids’ books and planning to have a car seat in her own vehicle. “I want to babysit any chance I get!” the former First Lady said at a political gathering in September, “Bill and I are on constant grandchild watch.” Chelsea kept a busy pace at the Clinton Global Initiative just days before Charlotte’s arrival. Chelsea Clinton is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Marc Mezvinsky. The daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced the news during the Girls: A No Ceilings Conversation event in NYC on Thursday, April. 17. “One more thing to say very quickly,” the 34-year-old addressed the crowd. “Mark and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year. I certainly feel all the better whether it’s a girl or a boy that they’ll grow up in a world with so many strong female leaders…” “I just hope that I’ll be as good to my child as my mom was to me,” she added. As mom Hillary replied: “I’m expecting a grand child which I’m very excited about. We’re very excited about what’s happening in our family but we’re also very excited about what we’re doing.” Dad Bill couldn’t help but gush himself following the event. “Excited to add a new line to my Twitter bio…grandfather-to-be!” he tweeted. “@hillaryclinton and I are so happy for Chelsea and Marc!” Chelsea added on Facebook: “Marc and I are so thrilled to be expecting our first child in the fall! Thank you for all of the kind words!” The former first daughter has clearly had babies on the brain, as she previously revealed she planned to try for baby No. 1 this year last October. “We sat down and said, ‘Here’s what we want to do.’ The first thing on the list was simple: We want, God willing, to start a family,” she said in Glamour’s November 2013 issue. “So we decided we were going to make 2014 the Year of the Baby.” Clinton and investment banker Mezvinsky tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Rhinebeck, N.Y., back in July 2010. The happy baby news comes just one day after Clinton, who serves as the Vice Chair of The Clinton Foundation, hinted that she’s open to running for political office one day. Former School Secretary Fired For Racist Obama Facebook Post If he had just kept his personal feelings to himself, he would still have a job. According to Raw Story: A former school secretary in Harlingen, TX sued the school district for firing him over a racist post on the social medium Facebook. Courthouse News Service reported that Abel Gonzalez believes that his right of free speech was infringed upon by the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District. Gonzales’ suit, which was filed in the Federal Court in Brownsville on Monday, said, “On Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 9:08 a.m., plaintiff was at home on his own personal computer, when plaintiff received an e-mail from the Huffington Post’s Facebook page.” “The Facebook page had a picture of a little girl chasing President Obama in the Oval Office and beneath the picture were the words, ‘Caption this,’” the complaint continued. “Plaintiff wrote ‘Run N****r Run.’” A commenter on Huffington Post’s page named C. Orlando Pettiford saw Rodriguez’ racist post and copied and pasted it to the Dr. Rodriguez Elementary School Facebook page, the school where Gonzales worked as a secretary. On the same day, school principal Tracy Gonzalez [no relation to the plaintiff] received notice about the racist post. On September 7, 2012, School Superintendent Steve Flores placed Gonzales on administrative leave. Two weeks later, Gonzales was fired. He is suing the school district for $2 million in damages for “conspiracy, civil rights violations and violations of the First Amendment and due process violations, with an emphasis on the First Amendment claims,” said CNS. Vance McAllister Surveillance Video First reported by the Ouachita Citizen, a West Monroe, La., newspaper in his district, the grainy video came from an anonymous source last December. It shows a man turning off the lights in a hallway before briefly exiting the frame. When he comes back in frame, he is joined by a woman and they kiss passionately. None of the footage, which the newspaper says was shot in Vance McAllister’s Monroe district office, clearly shows the faces of the two individuals. The woman is identified as his district scheduler, Melissa Anne Hixon Peacock, 33. On Monday, McAllister issued a statement admitting he is the man on video: “There’s no doubt I’ve fallen short and I’m asking for forgiveness. I’m asking for forgiveness from God, my wife, my kids, my staff and my constituents who elected me to serve.” Busted! “Trust is something I know has to be earned whether you’re a husband, a father or a Congressman. I promise to do everything I can to earn back the trust of everyone I’ve disappointed.” McAllister won a November 16 special election to replace Rodney Alexander, who was named the secretary of the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs in August. McAllister campaigned as a devout Christian, using his faith and his 16-year marriage to appeal to conservative voters in the Northern Louisiana district. In January, he invited Willie Robertson , a member of the controversial reality-television show Duck Dynasty , to be his guest at the State of the Union address.

Liked her.” His complaint was that he was never asked to discuss this, saying, “I’m very articulate, very intellectual.
