The woman’s unstoppable. Fresh off of her historic wins during the 2012 Summer Olympics , Serena beat out Sara Errani today…placing the multi gold medalist in the finals at the U.S. Open. In interviews on the court during and after the match, Serena let us know that she was trying her best to stay calm and collected the whole time. “Well, I did grunt once today, and I thought, `God, I hope I don’t lose the point,” Williams said. “Like I said, my goal this year was not to get in any fights.””It’s really awesome,” Williams said in an on-court interview. “That is what I wanted, and what I dreamed of, all year.” Her opponent Sara Errani wasn’t too happy with her failed match: The latest woman to absorb a lopsided loss against Serena Williams thinks the 14-time Grand Slam champion should take on a new challenge. “Given that men are always quick to say women are a lot worse … I’d love to see her play in a (lower-level) men’s tournament and see how they deal with her. It’s easy to talk. On the court, it would be different,” the 10th-seeded Sara Errani said. “I’ve practiced with a lot of guys ranked 400th or 500th,” Errani explained. “I’ve never played with a man who hits as hard as she does.” “She’s not unbeatable. No one is unbeatable. Anyone can lose. But if she plays well, she’s the best in the world,” Errani said. “It’s stressful against her. She puts a lot of pressure on you. You need to play quickly. Please for the love of our ears… 14 NBA Players Contribute To Full Court Press Vol. 1 Rap Album If there is one thing NBA players love more than playing basketball, it’s thinking they can release a viable rap album. There is a video floating around with a great deal of both good and bad news. As always, we delve into the bad first. It’s as simple as NBA stars heading into a recording studio armed with years of basketball training—hardly the correct weaponry to spit rhymes. Yes, some are quite good at the rap game. I will include Stephen Jackson on this short list. But there have also been far too many misses along the way. Not that any of that matters, because in the end, you will be rooting for this album—entitled Full Court Press: Volume 1—to succeed. Slam Online has a little more information on an upcoming album featuring 14 NBA stars and hip-hop veterans like “Rick Ross, Trina, Snoop Dogg, Birdman, The Game, Twista, T-Pain and others.” All proceeds from the album, which has a tentative release date of All-Star Weekend in February 2013, will benefit children in the community looking to receive education in the music business. For the record some of the other ballers trying their damndest to rap spitting hot bars of fire will be Juwan Howard, Baron Davis, Trevor Ariza, Lamar Odom, Carlos Boozer, Glen Davis, Shawn Marion, Josh Smith and others. Peep the preview below. We agree that this album could raise money for the kids and that is a good thing, but if it sucks it might just convince them to quit music and go to college! Ludcris’ Luda Day Weekend Celebrity Basketabll Game In Atlanta The importance of giving back to the community is the primary focus of LudaDay Weekend, and this year, Ludacris has made a commitment to highlighting local charities that support the city of Atlanta including; Frank Ski Kids Foundation, Inc., Keshia Knight Pulliam’s Kamp Kizzy, Antoine “Big Boi” Patton’s Big Kidz Foundation, Josh Powell’s 21 Reasons Foundation, Get Schooled.org, Do Something, Ryan Cameron Foundation, and the Boys & Girls Club of Atlanta. In addition to the above mentioned causes, LudaDay Weekend has also partnered with the local organization, Charles McCree Presents: Project Walk A Mile In My Shoes, to collect donations of new and slightly used shoes and sneakers to be collected at the Ludacris (Team Luda) vs. Kevin Hart (Team Hart) Celebrity Basketball Game on Sunday, September 2nd, at Morehouse Forbes Arena. The collected shoes will be donated to the following Atlanta-based organizations; Hosea Feed The Hungry, ENBA CAMP & YouthTakeBack, and My Sister’s House women’s shelter for abused women. Since its inception in 2008, Project Walk A Mile in My Shoes has collected over 7,000 pairs of shoes for several organizations including The Boys & Girls Club, It’s Cool To Be Smart, My Sister’s House and Hosea Feed the Hungry.
