Congratulations are in order for Samantha Markle. Indeed, that dishonor has firmly been claimed instead by BBC host Danny Baker. A veteran broadcaster in Great Britain, the 61-year old reacted to Markle and Harry debuting their precious newborn to the world yesterday by… … Tweeting a photo of a chimp in a suit holding hands with a smartly dressed couple and writing as a caption; “Royal baby leaves hospital.” The snapshot, naturally, sparked immediate outrage due to the clear racist undertones against Markle, whose mother, Doria Ragland, is African American. Faced with this strongly deserved backlash, Baker deleted the message and said he was sorry the “gag” had “whipped some up.” He then claimed the negative connotations had not occurred to him because his “mind (is) not diseased,” taking the impressively bold approach of accusing critics of racism for pointing out his racism. In a second message, Baker said that the tweet was “supposed to be a joke about Royals vs circus animals in posh clothes but interpreted as about monkeys & race, so rightly deleted. Royal watching not my forte.” On Thursday, the broadcaster said he made an “enormous mistake.” But it was far too late to save his job. “This was a serious error of judgment and goes against the values we as a station aim to embody,” said a BBC spokesperson yesterday, adding: “Danny’s a brilliant broadcaster but will no longer be presenting a weekly show with us.” As you can see above, Baker tried to save face by appealing directly to Meghanm, Harry and their son, writing online: Would have used same stupid pic for any other Royal birth or Boris Johnson kid or even one of my own. So look, a lot of people have a lot of feelings about Farrah Abraham. And yes, pretty much all of those feelings are negative. It makes sense — after all, she’s not really a likable person . Part of the reason she got fired from Teen Mom OG was because she couldn’t manage to just be civil to the crew members filming her. On television, on social media, in interviews … pretty much every single time we’ve seen her in any context, she’s just rude and nasty and really, really dumb . Even so, there’s always been a few things about Farrah that definitely make us feel some sympathy for her. One of those is the fact that she lost Derek Underwood, her sometimes boyfriend and the father of her daughter, Sophia, when she was pregnant. She wasn’t open about what happened during her episode of 16 and Pregnant and early on in the Teen Mom series, but since then, we’ve been able to piece together what happened. Basically, she and Derek dated for a while, but they often fought and broke up. It didn’t help that her parents didn’t approve of her relationship with him — once her father caught Derek in her bedroom and chased him out of the house with a knife. She got pregnant, but she didn’t tell Derek, and she never got a chance to tell him. He passed away in a car accident just two months before she gave birth to Sophia. It was devastating for her, and understandably so — even if they weren’t together at the time of his death, he was still the father of her unborn child. It would have been a lot to handle, especially for a teenager. Farrah went on to … well, we all know all what she went on to do , but in the years since Derek’s death, she’s never forgotten him. She always keeps his memory alive for Sophia, and since yesterday would have been his 29th birthday, she took the time to celebrate him in a tribute she shared on Instagram. It’s a lot, so buckle up. “To the one very special person I celebrate and remember like no other,” she began. “Happy Birthday Derek I love you, May 8th you would be 29 today, birthdays used to be so simple.” “You gave me that once in a lifetime love of my life everyone so deserves,” she continued, “you gave me so many 1st’s, from virginity, proms, trips, my first ring, you showed me unconditional love, you showed what relationships are, from prom, graduation, to our only child …” “All the events that had happened the entire sequence was one filled with the thrill, love & loss.” Yeah, this barely makes sense, but this is Farrah, and she’s trying, OK? By now, you’ve almost certainly heard the joyous news: Meghan Markle welcomed her first child this week — a bouncing baby boy named Archie. This should be a time for Meghan and Harry to bond with their young prince. (Technically Archie doesn’t have a royal title yet, but he’s already a prince to us!) Unfortunately, there are no days off for royals. That means just days after becoming parents, Harry and Meghan are back to making public appearances and getting harassed by the British tabloid press. On Wednesday, Archie had his first official photocall. And because media figures in the UK all apparently take their cues for basic human decency from Piers Morgan, the event very much did not go smoothly. For one, there was Danny Baker, the BBC host who was fired for comparing baby Archie to a “chimp.” Good riddance to that jackass — but sadly, he wasn’t the only member of the British press to behave abhorrently. You see, Meghan and Harry understandably wanted to limit the number of reporters shouting at their baby for pics at the photocall, so they put together a list of media outlets who would be represented at Archie’s big debut. This shouldn’t have been a big deal, as the images were available for free to anyone who wanted them just moments later. And yet it was a big deal, because elderly British snobs like Dickie Arbiter got their knickers in a twist because Meghan decided to invite one (1) American outlet. CBS and Gayle King were represented at the event, likely because Harry and Meghan are friends with Gayle and her iconic BFF Oprah. This drove Arbiter up a wall because he’s obviously a very normal person with completely normal priorities. “Choosing a U.S. Network, fiend [sic] or not, is treading on dodgy ground,” an outraged Arbiter tweeted. We’d say an old white guy bitching and moaning on social media because an American woman of color is friends with another American woman of color is “treading on dodgy ground,” but what do we know? In more positive, less low-key racist news, Harry made a short day trip to the Netherlands to kick off the countdown to the Invictus games today. We’re sure he didn’t relish being away from his wife and son, even for a few hours, but he made sure to let the world know where his heat was: Harry rocked a jacket embroidered with the words “Invictus Family Daddy.” Certain letters were highlighted to read, “I am Daddy.” Sounds like Archie is gonna have a lot of love in his life — and he’ll need it with hateful mummies like Danny Baker and Dickie Arbiter in the world. So much for a baby bringing people together. Even a very famous baby with a very cute name and a couple of loving parents. Just a few days after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the birth of their first child, the latter’s cruel half-sister has broken her silence about the blessed development. And if you think Samantha Markle used the occasion to say kind words about Meghan and/or to mend the rift that Samantha is entirely responsible for, well… … you must also think Prince William has remained loyal to Kate Middleton throughout their marriage. “I love it,” Samantha told DailyMailTV late Wednesday when asked about Meghan having a son, adding: “Family is family. What I think is incredible is that it’s a great moment historically and although the adults have a lot of water under the bridge, I would really like to see everyone reach out. “We’ve extended the olive branch and now it is Meghan’s turn.” Yup, there it is again. There is Samantha once more placing blame for her failed relationship with Meghan directly on the lovely shoulders of the Duchess. For those unaware, Samantha and Meghan share the same father — and almost literally nothing else. Samantha is 17 years old than Meghan and the two did NOT grow up in the same household. They’ve scarcely been in touch over the years, yet Samantha has taken every opportunity possible ever since Meghan started dating Harry to trash the former actress, claiming she’s phony and fake and unappreciative of her family. Meghan has somehow managed to take the high ground and never respond in public. “We’re all welcoming the baby – Markles, Raglands, Sussexes, Windsors,” continued Samantha in this interview. “In terms of the gene pool, we’ve all made a contribution to this wonderful little boy who will probably grow up to be an exceptional man and we’d like to treat this as if we’re all a big family. “It would be nice not to react to what we’ve heard in the news but to personally meet him and let him judge us for himself.” Samantha is likely speaking here for her dad as well, who chose not to attend the Royal Wedding last May and who issued his own weird statement in light of the Royal Baby’s birth this week. Markle and Harry posed with their precious newborn yesterday, announcing his name a few hours later. It is Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and we actually think it’s rather adorable. “It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I’m really happy,” Meghan told the media on Wednesday, saying of her little one: “He has the sweetest temperament. He’s really calm.” And Samantha did conclude her statement with a few nice words at least. While also claiming that she was speaking for an entire nation. “I want [Archie] to know he’s got a big family and he’s part of an amazing historical time and we’re excited for him,” she said. “We’re excited for Meg and Harry – I am really excited for her. I love her, she’s my baby sister and it doesn’t matter what we’ve all said back and forth but she’s got to do the right thing. “I just want to say Meg, you’ve got a world here and family here [in the U.S.] that’s excited for you.” In the end, however, the woman who is exploiting this entire situation to write a memoir and gain publicity simply could not help but continue to hammer Markle for allegedly turning her back on her loved ones. I hope something sticks with her – that she decided to do the right thing for my dad. Life is short and we’re family. “I hope she decides to do the right thing this time.”
There was a lot of drama on Wednesday’s The Real Housewives of New York City, but all of that was overshadowed by Dorinda Medley, Ramona Singer, and Sonja Morgan making fools of themselves. The trio attended a charity event for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and it was only a matter of time before they said something they should not have. Ramona spearheaded the event with the CEO of NY Loves Kids Bridie Farrell. Together, they threw an auction benefitting the organization. They wanted to raise more awareness to the group to eliminate the statute of limitations for victims to report abuse. Things got off to a less than stellar start when Ramona could not even say Bridie’s name correctly. It was super awkward. Sonja then told Bridie to “just exploit us.” Yes, really. “I do children, you do sexual abuse,” Ramona sneered as she failed to realize how horrible her words sounded. “We might not be the most eloquent, but we’re passionate,” Singer later added. At the event, the ladies started bickering over a dinner party being thrown for Ramona’s upcoming birthday. Ramona said she had no control over the guest list, and that the women planning it would deal with it. We got a flashback from Ramona telling these other friends not to invite Sonja. Ramona, Dorinda, and Sonja followed that argument up with a speech. Bridia dragged Ramona for not pronouncing her name correctly, and Sonja kept laughing. “Everyone knows you can cry on a dime,” Sonja laughed. “Sonja, why are you doing this to me?” asked Ramona. “Her name is Bridie by the way, you called her Birdie,” Sonja fired back. “I’m bad with names,” Ramona said. “When people are sexually abused as a child, you say is it my fault, did I do something wrong, you’re afraid to come forward,” she continued. Dorinda then joined in, shouting at Ramona because she felt she missed something out. “It was a friend of the family!
