There’s a reason that the “happily ever after” of so many fairy tales involves marrying into a royal family. From a distance, it’s like winning the lottery, if — in addition to money — the lottery also awarded international fame and sex with an attractive person. So in a sense, Meghan Markle is living the dream. But another, possibly more accurate sense, she’s stuck in a nightmare. Not a horrendous nightmare, where you’re being chased by an axe murderer or something. More like one of those weird dreams where you go from obscure basic cable actress to global celebrity overnight, but the tabloid press and your own sh-tty family keep trying to destroy you. What doesn’t everyone have those? Anyway, you’ve probably heard about Meghan’s awful family by now, and at times, you’ve probably felt a little bad for her, After all, Meghan is pregnant with her first child , but her wicked half-sister, Samantha Markle, persists in spreading damaging lies to any tabloid still willing to listen to her seething nonsense. Fortunately, Meghan has some great friends in her corner — and they’re willing to say the things that she can’t about her horrendous dad and siblings. Meg’s pals spoke to People magazine recently so that they could, in their words , “stand up against the global bullying we are seeing and speak the truth about our friend.” “Meg has silently sat back and endured the lies and untruths,” says a woman identified only as “a former costar” of the magazine. “We worry about what this is doing to her and the baby,” adds the costar. “It’s wrong to put anyone under this level of emotional trauma, let alone when they’re pregnant.” Her friends say one of the most distressing parts of the current narrative surrounding Meg is that she’s being painted as some narcissistic diva, when nothing could be further from the truth. “We’ve all been to their cottage,” says someone identified as “a close confidante” “It’s small and she’s made it cozy, but the perception of their lifestyle and the reality are two different things. Meg cooks for herself and Harry every single day. The confidante goes on to say that Meg has friends visit her often, and she always makes them feel right at home. “We had a couple of days together recently. Her husband was out of town on work,” the friend reveals. “In the room she made up for me, there was a candle lit by the bed, slippers and a robe. We were the only two in the house. It was our time. She made the most lovely meals. She made tea every day. “It was raining and muddy outside, so the dogs got all dirty, and she’s wiping them off with towels. “How much she loves her animals, how much she loves her friends, how much she loves feeding you, taking care of you — none of that has changed.” Jeez, what a monster.
