Aubrey Plaza, one of our favorite girl crushes and scene stealer for seven seasons on Parks and Recreation , recently shared a secret: She’s into chicks! (And dudes!) In an interview with LGBT magazine The Advocate , Plaza talks about her sexuality. When asked if women ever come on to her, the actress gives a candid answer. “Oh, yeah. I don’t mind. I know I have an androgynous thing going on, and there’s something masculine about my energy,” she told the publication. “Girls are into me — that’s no secret. Hey, I’m into them too,” she added. “I fall in love with girls and guys. I can’t help it.” But while she proudly admits that she is a bisexual woman (or is it pansexual? I’m sorry, it’s just kinda hard to keep track), Plaza believes she’s more like a gay man. “My tastes are like an older gay man’s, and I think that’s who I really am,” she shared. “Like, I grew up obsessed with Judy Garland, and I was also obsessed with how much she meant to her following.” She goes on to say she grew up around family members who were gay, and thinks it’s in her DNA. “My family’s always been very open,” she said. “I have a gay aunt and a gay uncle, and I grew up thinking that everyone had a gay aunt or uncle,” Plaza continued. “My younger sister is a lesbian, so it’s just in my blood, I guess.” Plaza stars in the upcoming film Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates , co-starring Anna Kendrick, Zac Efron and Adam Devine, which opens July 8. For centuries, braids have been making women of color feel powerful. To highlight how braids continues to make Black girls feel magical as well as the history of the intricately expressive hairstyle, Artist Shani Crowe decided to document her relationship with braids at Brooklyn’s Museum Of Contemporary African Disporan Arts (MoCADA). Appropriately titled, BRAIDS, Crowe told Refinery 29 what inspired her to curate such an exhibit. “As a child, I would get my hair braided every two weeks by one of my aunts or an older cousin. I picked up the skill from watching my relatives braid, and practicing on dolls. When I was around 11, and my aunts couldn’t execute the designs I wanted, I began braiding [on] my own. Amber Rose Talks Being Considered A “Slut” In Hustler Amber Rose doesn’t really consider herself a slut. But its a term that’s been hurled at her so much her entire life, she’s reached the point of “fawk it” and has decided to turn the term into something empowering for her. As Amber explains to Hustler in their upcoming June issue, after constant attacks on her character because of her sexuality — even going all the way back to middle school — Amber has learned to live for herself only and let the judgement of strangers roll off her back. Amber described being singled out as a pretty girl many boys liked in school, and eventually being tricked and slut-shamed because of it: “I was about 14. I was still a virgin, and me and my friends, we just started kissing boys. And I was making out with this boy I know in the closet, and he was like, ‘Get down on your knees.’ I was like, ‘Why?’ Because I just didn’t understand. I was so young that I didn’t get it. And he was like, ‘No, just get down on your knees. I’m telling you, I just got to show you something.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay.’ I get down on my knees, and he opens the closet door. All my friends are out there. And his d**k is out. In my face. It was pitch black. I had no idea. I think it was a sweatpants situation where it was quick. He opens the door and all my friends, everybody — it’s like a bunch of kids out there and They were like, ‘Oh, my God, look, she was sucking his d**k.’ I was like, ‘No, I wasn’t. I swear to God. Christopher Morgan Blasts Gay Rumors From Kenya Moore Kim Fields already issued her own epic clapback at Kenya Moore for insinuating that her husband Christopher Morgan is a down-low brother-lover, and that it’s widely known and spoken about in their D-list Hollywood circles . However, Chris himself has remained pretty mum on Kenya’s comments about his sexuality up to this point. In a recent sit-down with E!online , Chris finally revealed why he didn’t speak up and where those rumors actually came from… It’s interesting. When someone spreads lies about you, you can either go at them in a defensive manner and be seen as defensive, or you can just let a lie be a lie. And she kind of put me in the middle with that situation because how I would handle that situation without the entire world watching is different than I would when someone spreads a lie about you in front of the nation and world. So, I felt immediately it was going to be important for me, at some time, to set the record straight that she had fabricated the entire conversation. There is no one in the industry that calls me anything other than my name, especially to my face. Kimmy and I weren’t together in the Living Single days. So, she had to stretch pretty far to get that. [Kenya claims she first learned of the rumors surrounding Chris when she guest starred on Kim’s Fox sitcom, which ran from 1993-1998. Only problem? Kim was married to someone else at the time. She didn’t marry Chris until 2007.] Now, I understand, I’m a Broadway performer without a real name, as far as Hollywood goes, and when Kim and I first got together, there was all kinds of speculation about me. Was I a deadbeat? Was I broke? Was I a drug addict? Was I a homosexual? There were all kind of rumors about me because nobody knew who this guy was dating, and eventually marrying, Kim Fields. She basically took that speculation, one aspect of it, and ran with it. Chris also says that Kenya’s lie was offensive, insinuating that because he sings and dances, clearly he must be gay — or that Broadway is a profession only for “whimsical” men. But at the end of the day, she’s only hurting herself since she claims to be such a cornerstone of the entertainment industry… It’s funny. Kenya says a lot of things that are insulting. Some of them she means, and some of them she doesn’t. The problem is she doesn’t really know. Now, speaking specifically to this point, again, being in the industry that I’m in, being the person that I am, without judgements on anyone’s personal life, I have a lot of people in my life, a lot of friends in my life, a lot of colleagues in my life that are homosexuals. I love them dearly as the people that they are. I know that they were offended by the statements made. And it’s disappointing to me that someone would make such reckless statements without thinking of the true repercussions of it. What I mean by the true repercussions of it is, the man who’s your boss, you just labeled as weak or inept or unable or lesser than. And I think that’s pretty thoughtless and stupid, if you ask me, honestly. And she’s going to have to deal with Andy Cohen on that. She’s going to have to deal with a bunch of the other people that are above her on that. She’s going to have to deal with the quote-unquote industry that in her mind loves her so much over that. And that’s not my business, that’s hers. I did not dig that hole. Well, it seems as if Kenya’s retelling of the rumors wasn’t COMPLETELY fabricated, since Chris says it’s not the first time someone has leveled gay speculation his way.
