This guy is beyond finished … Conductor In Madrid Train Crash Was Found To Be Talking On The Phone Prior To Accident Via HuffingtonPost The driver of the train that derailed and killed 79 people in Spain was on the phone and traveling at 95 mph (153 kph) – almost twice the speed limit – when the crash happened last week, according to a preliminary investigation released Tuesday. The train had been going as fast as 119 mph (192 kph) shortly before the derailment, and the driver activated the brakes “seconds before the crash,” according to a written statement from the court in Santiago de Compostela, whose investigators gleaned the information from two “black box” data recorders recovered from the train. The speed limit on the section of track was 50 mph (80 kph). The crash occurred near Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain, and was the country’s worst rail accident in decades. Some 66 people are still hospitalized for injuries, 15 of whom are in critical condition. The driver, Francisco Jose Garzon Amo, was talking on the phone to an official of national rail company Renfe when the crash happened and apparently was consulting a paper document at the time, the statement said. Garzon was provisionally charged Sunday with multiple counts of negligent homicide. The driver received a call on his work phone in the cabin, not his personal cellphone, to tell him what approach to take toward his final destination. The Renfe employee on the telephone “appears to be a controller,” the statement said. “From the contents of the conversation and from the background noise it seems that the driver (was) consulting a plan or similar paper document,” the statement said. Friends Set Fire To Police Station Two teens in a remote Canada community are accused of torching a police station as part of a bizarre plan to get arrested and flown to a Winnipeg youth jail to visit a pal who is also currently facing arson charges, prosecutors alleged this week. Via Sun News Network : And the suspected arson case comes at a time RCMP in remote St. Theresa Point, Man., are contending with an emerging crime problem where a “gang” of youths are engaging in a destructive ritual dubbed “Bad Azz Sundays” as they mark out a weekly time to wreak havoc there, Judge Rocky Pollack heard. The boys, 13 and 14, were collared after what’s known locally as the “justice building,” leased by the RCMP from the Island Lake Tribal Council, caught fire and was destroyed just after 4 a.m. Sunday, July 21. The younger boy appeared for and was granted bail at the Manitoba Youth Centre (MYC) on Thursday. He has no record or other pending charges and is presumed innocent. Pollack was legally bound under the Youth Criminal Justice Act to give him a shot at freedom with many restrictions attached. He and his co-accused are suspected of picking the lock to the RCMP section of the side-by-side building with a paper clip then using matches and a lighter to torch paper and the back of the building, Crown attorney Courtney St. Croix said. When police caught up to the 13-year-old, he told them it was a joint arson attempt made to get out of the community and into the confines of MYC, St. Croix alleged. When these kids get out of jail, they should be forced to complete community service at the Burn Care Center Unit of several Winnipeg area hospitals, every Sunday for 6 months. It was really a difficult time with many ups and downs. Often I was afraid that I’d lose my sister one day, but there was this boy named Justin Bieber. He always gave me and my family hope. He always did so many good things for sick children. Often I had to fight the tears because I knew that my sister would never meet him. I thought, we’re just a small family from Germany, Justin doesn’t even know that I exist. The only thing I wanted was to thank him for everything he has ever done and to see my little sister smile. Days, weeks, months, even years went by. The day finally came when my sister was healthy again, she could laugh and play like other children and her hair began to grow. I had time for other things again and I believed in my dream someday to be able to meet Justin and to thank him. I’ve done everything but I never got a response, until that one day where everything changed. It was a Tuesday, the phone rang and I answered it. It was a man who told me he had received a letter from my sister and pointed out that he had phoned the manager of Justin Bieber, and we would meet Justin on the 7th June 2012 in Cologne! Tears were running down my cheeks. The day came closer and I couldn’t sleep anymore. When we arrived in Cologne, we went to Justin’s hotel. Suddenly Dan Kanter and Scrappy came up to me, I was totally speechless. Finally, I got brought up to Justin’s room and my heart started beating faster and faster. All things from the past two years went through my head. Justin walked in, it was like a dream. He was so beautiful! He ran up to me and I looked into his deep into his brown eyes. He said, “Hi how are you?” I was so speechless, I just said, “I’m fine, thank you.” Then he gave me a big hug. My whole body began to tingle, it felt so good to be that close to him!
