Lauryn Hill isn’t the only one with money problems … Wyclef Jean’s Business Manager Says He Is Broke Former Fugees member Wyclef Jean is reportedly broke, according his business manager. Via NewsOne reports: The Smoking Gun reports that the entertainer, who only a couple of years ago tried to run for the Haitian presidency, reportedly is in debt to Uncle Sam to the tune of $2.9 million in tax liens. Through a confidential agreement that was drawn up, the international 44-year-old Haitian ambassador reportedly said he would fork over $100,000 to entertainment law firm Shukat Arrow Hafer Weber & Herbsman to settle an outstanding bill of $133,000. Jean, according to The Smoking Gun, was requested to satisfy his outstanding debt with the law firm via two installments: $10,000 by last August 1 and another $50,000 by the end of last year. According to the alleged agreement, if Jean made the two payments totaling $60,000, the law firm would waive $40,000. If the entertainer, however, failed to make good on the agreement, an additional ten percent annual interest would also get tacked on to the $100,000. Jean did not make any payments to the firm, according to The Smoking Gun. His accountant, David Levin, reportedly sent out an email in January to the celeb’s creditors stating, “in my most professional verbiage…there ain’t no money.” The email was sent out in response to the law firm’s threats of impending court action against Jean. Levin reportedly told the legal eagles to go ahead and “file it” and they did. Now, Jean reportedly owes the firm $102,027.40. He has had other money woes in the past as well. Following the Haitian earthquake, Jean was questioned about the handling of the finances of his now defunct charitable organization, Yele Haiti. The non-profit foundation collected over $16 million in donations following the series of earthquakes that decimated the island’s capital city, Port-Au-Prince. Robin Thicke Says He And Paula Patton Are “Very Happy” Following Separation Despite being in the middle of a highly publicized separation that was reportedly requested by wife Paula Patton , R&B crooner Robin Thicke recently told People magazine that both he and his wife are “happy.” via People Magazine After Robin Thicke and Paula Patton announced their separation in February, the “Blurred Lines” singer opened up about his bid to get her back with an emotional tribute at one of his concerts. In one of his first interviews since their split, Thicke, 37, explained why he decided to voice such raw emotions during his tour. “My music is very honest about what I’m going through and my songs are about my life,” he told PEOPLE at the grand opening party of Express Times Square in New York City, where he performed on Tuesday. “And my relationship with her was 21 years of my life, so I just thought it was important to me to let people know how much she means to me.” And while Patton, 38, has yet to publicly acknowledge his messages, Thicke says she was touched by them. “She loved it,” Thicke added. “She thought it was the sweetest thing and very romantic, and I’ve always been a romantic guy that way.  We’re both doing well. We’re both very happy right now – much happier,” he said. “Everything about this moment in my life – this amazing year I just had and what I’m going through personally – has actually ignited some of the best writing I’ve done in a long time.” “Whatever everybody’s wondering about, they’re going to hear it all in the album,” he added. As for his goals for the rest of the year? “Just to be a great father and hopefully write some great music, put on some great shows and be a great friend to Paula,” he said. Sports Club Fined $21,000 After Customers Make Racist Comments About Brazilian Athlete A Brazilian sports club is paying the price for having overtly rude customers. The Mogi Mirim club in Brazil has been slapped with a hefty $21,000 fine after a few of its’ patrons hurled racial slurs at a professional athlete who was conducting an interview inside of the establishment. via Boston Herald A sports tribunal has fined Brazilian club Mogi Mirim $21,000 because its fans racially abused an opposing player in a Sao Paulo state championship match this month. The tribunal issued the fine after fans allegedly called Santos midfielder Arouca a “monkey” while he was being interviewed after a March 6 match. Fans also reportedly told the former Brazil midfielder to go and look for an African team to play for. Mogi Mirim, whose president is former Brazil star Rivaldo, said it will appeal because it did everything possible to help authorities solve the case. Nobody was arrested, but the team’s stadium will remain closed pending the appeal. The ruling late Monday came the same day South American football’s governing body fined Peruvian club Real Garcilaso $12,000 after its fans racially abused Brazilian Cruzeiro midfielder Tinga in a Copa Libertadores match earlier this year.
