Dancing with the Stars Recap: Her Name is Nicole

Dancing with the Stars kicked off its second week Monday night by shuffling the order and injecting the Foxtrot and Jive into the mix for the 11 pairings. Like last week , Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough led the pack, and is (right now) the odds-on favorite to win this spring barring one of two scenarios: Fans become accustomed to her terrific performances as the norm and consider her so much of a lock, they just don’t vote (see Sabrina Bryan). She has a train wreck performance like Kate Gosselin’s last night. The first scenario is more likely, and you can’t count out a number of other competitors, of course. But the name to beat thus far is definitely Nicole. Here’s a tiered breakdown of last night’s Dancing with the Star s scores, along with the dance they performed and their combined two-week totals … The judges were kind to Nicole, Erin, Pam and their respective partners. Early favorites Nicole Scherzinger & Derek Hough (Jive) – 53 (25, 28). The competition Evan Lysacek & Anna Trebunskaya (Jive) – 47 (23, 24). Erin Andrews & Maksim Chmerkovskiy (Foxtrot) – 44 (21, 23). Pamela Anderson & Damien Whitewood (Foxtrot) – 43 (21, 22). Hanging around Jake Pavelka & Chelsie Hightower (Jive) – 40 (20, 20). Niecy Nash & Louis Van Amstel (Foxtrot) – 39 (18, 21). Shannen Doherty & Mark Ballas (Jive) – 38 (18, 20). Chad Ochocinco & Cheryl Burke (Foxtrot) – 34 (18, 16). Hoping for a fan bailout Kate Gosselin & Tony Dovolani (Jive) – 31 (16, 15). Buzz Aldrin & Ashly Costa (Foxtrot) – 26 (14, 12). Likely not going to get it Aiden Turner & Edyta Sliwinska (Foxtrot) – 32 (15, 19). Yeah, it doesn’t look good for Aiden Turner. Kate Gosselin can at least count on voter support despite her terribleness, and Buzz Aldrin … is Buzz Aldrin. You don’t vote the man off. Aiden lacks skills and a devoted fan base. Gone tonight.

Amy Winehouse Rehab Bound Again

Full disclosure, this story comes from the News of the World (UK), so we can’t really vouch for its accuracy. But it’s probably true, and even if it’s not, it should be! They tried to make her go to rehab, and she said “No, no, no” etc., etc., but despite song lyrics to the contrary, it looks like Amy Winehouse is headed there now. Wino, who at one point was a successful musician, had been checking in every now and then as an outpatient to try and battle her booze demons. Yeah, right. But the Back to Black singer has “had a bit of a wobble” and wants to get back on track. THG NOTE : That wobble often goes by the name of Blake Fielder-Civil . Is Wino getting help? Will it take? [Photo: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com] A source said of the troubled songbird: “Things have just gotten to be too much for her recently and it’s important she gets some help to control her drinking.” This is what happens when you swap out hard drugs for alcohol and call that “rehab,” which basically she did during last year’s three-month St. Lucia bender. “She has come a long way from a couple of years ago but there’s still a long way to go,” he or she added. “Right now life in London is getting on top of her.” Gotta give it up to the possibly bisexual singer if the rehab reports are true, but you gotta wonder if certain influences in her life are making it a lost cause.

By Eric Ditzian Shannen Doherty Photo: Jamie McCarthy/ Getty Images Incapacitating anxiety, skin rashes, stage fight: all these conditions kept former “90120” star Shannen Doherty from accepting past invitations to tap her toes on the set of “Dancing with the Stars.” Until, that is, the occurrence of a life-changing event that will have her cutting a rug to a much different tune come the new season’s premiere on March 22. “I have a huge fear of live audiences,” Doherty told People magazine . “I break out in hives, full-blown panic attacks and everything else.” The 2010 Cast Of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Then last Christmas, the 38-year-old actress’ father suffered a stroke. While watching his recovery, Doherty decided that she too could overcome her perceived limitations. “He lost his speech, he wasn’t mobile,” she explained. “He was really struggling and still is. When I mentioned this to him, he got really excited and he wanted me to do it. I thought, If my dad can fight through having a stroke and the loss of being able to communicate, I think I can do this for him. So I figured I’m going to get over my fear for him.” Helping her fight those fears will be two-time “DWTS” winner Mark Ballas , who has partnered with past champs Kristi Yamaguchi and Shawn Johnson. Doherty will certainly have to put in some serious work to compare favorably to both those Olympic gold medalists. The actress said she hasn’t been to the gym since leaving “Charmed” in 2001 and hasn’t taken a dance lesson since some tap classes as a child. “I don’t work out,” she said. “I need to get my endurance up.” “I’m going to get in great shape and everyone who I know who’s been on the show has had a great time,” she added. “It’s with hesitation and fear, but it’s going to be good to conquer a fear.” Related Photos The 2010 Cast Of ‘Dancing With The Stars’
