Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace: Cast on The View!

The long, in-depth search has finally come to an end. Deadline confirms that Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace have been chosen as new panelists on The View. Both will make their first appearances in this capacity on the September 15 season premiere. Perez is a veteran movie actress who we adored in White Men Can’t Jump; while Wallace served as communications director for George W. Bush. They will succeed former co-hosts Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy , who exited last month, and join Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg at the table of the ABC talk show. Wallace had been one of the rumored names for this position for awhile, but Perez is considered an unexpected choice. She did guest host the program back in February, however. And she has made arrangements to do The View while also starring on Broadway opposite Larry David this fall. What do you think of Perez and Wallace on The View?   Yay for Rosie! Yay for Nicolle! Yay for them both! Who?!? View Poll » Would we have selected them? Eh. We’d have preferred one of these women: 11 Possible Replacements on The View 1. Sarah Palin Sarah Palin won’t dismiss the possibility. She has acknowledged that The View needs fresh blood.

Congratulations, Kinda: Sherri Shepherd And Lamar Sally’s Surrogate Gives Birth To A Baby Boy

Congrats …or nah??? Sherri Shepherd’s Surrogate Gives Birth Sherri Shepherd is a new mom, kinda. The woman she designated to have a baby for herself and her estranged husband Lamar Sally just gave birth to a baby boy today in PA. In any other instance this would be exciting news for the TV host but it’s not considering that she believes Sally is using the baby as a ploy to get child support and she’s disavowed maternity. TMZ reports: Sherri Shepherd is now a mom … again — if she wants to be — because we’ve learned her surrogate has given birth. We’re told the baby boy was born Tuesday in Pennsylvania. We broke the story … Sherri has disavowed maternity, claiming her estranged husband Lamar Sally defrauded her when she signed the surrogate documents. She believes his intent all along was to divorce her and then go for child support. We know Lamar intends to raise the child himself but he will still ask a judge to order Sherri to pay support. We’re told Sherri was not present — Lamar was … and sources close to him say he is excited to be a new dad and for the future ahead. Congrats….kinda.

Sherri Shepherd Wins Custody Battle Against Jeff Tarpley!

Sherri Shepherd got fired from The View last month, and has yet to reveal any future career plans, but at least she’s a winner one sense: Shepherd emerged victorious from her custody battle with first husband Jeff Tarpley today, as a judge ruled that she’s fit to raise her 9-year-old son. Now that that’s over with, Shepherd can focus on her custody battle with Lamar Sally , her second husband. That case is a bit more complicated, as it involves an unborn child that the former couple is expecting via a surrogate.  The battle for custody began immediately after Shepherd and Sally split  in May. At first, Sally was demanding full custody and requesting that Shepherd receive only visitation rights.  Now, in a bizarre twist Sally is asking a judge to force Shepherd to have some involvement in the child’s life.  Yes, Sherri has reportedly decided that she wants nothing to do with the child that she and Sally planned to raise as a couple – a fact that has led Sally to cry foul and seek legal intervention. As for the wrangling between Shepherd and Tarpley – the father of Sherri’s son claims that her hectic work schedule made her unable to provide for the boy. He testified that Shepherd left the boy, Jeffrey, in the care of “unskilled nannies,” resulting in poor hygiene and developmental delays. The judge ruled that there was no evidence of neglect on Shepherd’s part. She announced her victory today via Twitter. Celebrity Break-Ups of 2014 1. Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy: Let Go from The View!

The View is getting a major makeover. ABC confirmed on Thursday that neither Sherri Shepherd nor Jenny McCarthy will return to the afternoon talk show this fall, with the former saying via statement: “It’s been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Gedde for giving me the opportunity. “I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey.” Shepherd’s exit comes as a bit of a surprise, but talk of McCarthy leaving has been circulating for weeks now. The controversial blonde Tweeted soon after the news broke that “my View will be changing too. As will with many hard working folks,” and later added of her soon-to-be-former colleague: “If Sherri goes… I go too. #sisters.” Based on the above selfie with Donnie Wahlberg, Shepherd and McCarthy don’t seem too broken up about their ousting, do they? “The View will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively,” ABC said its own statement, as only Whoopi Goldberg is currently signed for next season. Look for new episodes to air this September and try to decide: Who do you want to see on the new panel?
