According to Billboard: Beyoncé heads up Billboard’s weekly slate of top-grossing tours with sales reported from the final leg of her Mrs. Carter Show world tour that wrapped at the end of March. The pop diva was on the road for the bulk of 2013, performing in 23 countries on four continents through the end of the year. The final 2014 leg of the tour kicked off in Scotland on Feb. 20, marking her third jaunt through Europe since last year’s mid-April launch. This last string of shows began in the U.K., but dates followed in Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Spain before wrapping in Portugal on March 27. Multiple performances at arenas in London and Dublin were reported during a previous week, so after adding revenue from those markets to the $24.1 million included in this tally, her final European leg grossed more than $41.1 million from 25 sold out shows. The Mrs. Carter Show ended its yearlong run with overall revenue totaling $212 million from more than 1.8 million sold tickets at 126 concerts. Columbus Short is leaving Scandal Season 4, the actor confirmed on Friday. “At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I’ve called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today,” Short said in his statement to Us Weekly . Columbus Short’s statement thanked not only Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes but also the Gladiators who championed the series to make it the phenomenon it is. “I would like to first thank [creator] Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast,” he said, continuing, “Thank you GLADIATORS, who have supported me throughout my entire career and of course to ABC and Shondaland for allowing me to play such a pivotal role in the Scandal series.” Short’s domestic violence issues seem to have caught up to him and since Shonda Rhimes doesn’t play around with real-life scandals, many speculated this was coming. In March, Short was arrested on felony battery charges following a fight in a bar. Prior to that, on Valentine’s Day, he was arrested for misdemeanor spousal abuse and ordered to stay away from his now-estranged wife Tuere Short. The two filed for divorce in 2013, reconciled, and are now in the midst of a heated divorce once again. Short closed his statement saying, “Everything must come to an end and unfortunately the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas.” “I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast, who have become like a second family to me in such a short amount of time. While he definitely has some explaining to do, Short says he just can’t right now. As much as I would like to provide my side of events, my counsel has instructed me that a Court of law is the only and proper venue to deal with such matters.
