Archival photos from the LaGrange Daily News in Georgia show Houser trying to present himself as a respectable businessman back in 2001, shortly before hanging a swastika banner in his law-breaking business. It was one of many early signs of trouble for the mentally disturbed man who fatally shot two people and wounded nine before turning the gun on himself at a screening of the comedy “Trainwreck” in Lafayette, La. Thursday night. There goes that term again. “Mentally disturbed”. Smh. Back in 2001, John Houser begged the LaGrange City Council to allow him to keep the liquor license for his local bar after he was caught slangin’ booze to the youngins. When his license was ultimately denied, this is how he expressed his displeasure: Houser’s bizarre protest against the decision put him back in local headlines. He hung a six-foot banner outside his pub with a swastika and the phrase “Welcome to LaGrange.” The sick stunt meant to liken his local government to the Nazi party, he explained. “The people who used (swastikas) — the Nazis — they did what they damn well pleased,” he told the LaGrange paper. The article showed him grinning as he stood under the inflammatory banner. B-b-b-but wait, it gets worse! In the years after this small-town spat, Houser’s behavior only grew more erratic and hateful. He praised Adolf Hitler’s “pragmatism” in online message boards and made violent threats against his family, leading to an involuntary hospital stay, a restraining order from family members and a failed attempt to get a pistol permit in 2006. Houser’s criminal history dates back to a 2005 domestic violence complaint, and courts records described him as having “a history of mental health issues,” including manic depression and bipolar disorder. Police Respond To Mass Shooting In Louisiana Movie Theater Another mass shooting seems to have taken place, this time inside a Lafayette, LA movie theater . Via CNN : Police in Lafayette, Louisiana, say they responded Thursday night to a report of a shooting at the Grand 16 Theatre. “We think the shooter is deceased,” Police Chief Jim Craft said, according to CNN affiliate KATC. “Right now we’re in the middle of sorting this out.” The shooting involved “multiple victims,” the police department tweeted. Police said they received the call about 7:30 p.m. CT. Todd Moffatt, manager of a Mellow Mushroom pizza restaurant in the area, said 20 to 30 emergency vehicles had arrived on the scene. The area was locked down, he said. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal tweeted, “I’m on my way to Lafayette right now. Please say a prayer for the victims at Grand Theatre and their families.” So sad. The Huffington Post reports: When Jonathan Sanders, an unarmed black man, died last week in Mississippi while in police custody, it was a racially motivated killing, attorneys representing the victim’s family claimed Tuesday. Sanders, 39, a resident of Stonewall, Mississippi, died last Wednesday after allegedly being placed in a chokehold by Officer Kevin Herrington, attorneys C.J. Lawrence and Chokwe Lumumba told The Huffington Post on Tuesday. Sanders, who trained horses and was often seen riding around in a horse-drawn buggy, was at a gas station with one of his animals at about 10 p.m. Wednesday when he saw an altercation between Herrington and another white man, whom Sanders knew. According to Lawrence, Sanders approached them and asked Herrington to leave the other man alone. A witness told the attorneys that after Sanders left, Herrington allegedly said, “I’m gonna get that n****r.” Lawrence said multiple eyewitnesses have told the attorneys that Herrington then got in his car with an unidentified civilian female and drove after Sanders, who was on his buggy. Three eyewitnesses who are related to Sanders by marriage, and who say they saw the altercation from their home, said the officer turned on his police lights when he was just behind Sanders. The lights startled the horse, which took off at a sprint, throwing Sanders off his buggy. “Jonathan immediately began to run after his horse, unaware of what was going on behind him,” Lawrence said. “Herrington proceeded to chase Jonathan.” Herrington allegedly grabbed a headlight tied around Sanders’ head, pulling it down to his neck and yanking him to the ground. Sanders’ body was slumped down in a “praying position” as Herrington allegedly wrapped his arms around the man’s neck, placing him a chokehold, Lawrence said. The three witnesses in the home told the attorneys the officer would not release his grip. At the time, the witnesses said, they were not aware that the man in the officer’s grip was Sanders, their relative. One of the witnesses, who works as a correctional officer in Stonewall, came out to confront Herrington, allegedly asking the officer to let Sanders go. Herrington told the correctional officer that Sanders had reached for his gun, according to the attorneys. The correctional officer repeatedly asked Herrington to let Sanders go so that the correctional officer could perform CPR on him, but Herrington allegedly declined, according to testimony. Lawrence and Lumumba said that although it only took three minutes for Staten Island man Eric Garner to die in a chokehold in a widely publicized case last summer, Sanders was allegedly placed in a chokehold for more than 20 minutes before EMTs arrived. After hopping into the pool butt naked in front of all Justin’s college friends just a few weeks back, the mogul has now gotten taken into custody by campus police for getting too aggressive after the football game. Justin plays defensive back for the Bruins, and Diddy dropped by to watch his son hit the field. Apparently Diddy wasn’t feeling the way the coach was screaming on his offspring during the game…and decided to snatch him up in his office after the game. Via TMZ : P. Diddy has been arrested for allegedly getting into a fight with a football coach at UCLA … where his son is on the team, TMZ Sports has learned. We’re told Campus Police took the music mogul into custody early Monday afternoon. Diddy’s son, Justin Combs, is a defensive back on the team. We’re told the fight went down at the UCLA athletic facility. One source says an assistant coach was screaming at Justin on the field during a strength and conditioning session. We’re told the coach “was riding Justin, screaming intensely at him.” Diddy watched the whole thing from the sideline. At some point later, we’re told Diddy confronted the coach in his office and grabbed him. Diddy was arrested for assault. A source connected with Diddy tells TMZ Diddy himself initially wanted to call police, but the phone was taken out of his hands. Diddy is still in custody at the campus jail. SMH!
