Gunman Opens Fire At Washington State High School via Fox News DEVELOPING: Police responded Friday to a shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Marysville, Wash. Local television stations reported that two people were being airlifted to a hospital. Prosecutors had called for a minimum 10-year term, and the defence argued for community service and house arrest. Pistorius was convicted of culpable homicide but cleared of murder. Squeeze first, ask questions last … Georgia Cops Kill Handcuffed Man Armed With A Weapon Via NYDailyNews A handcuffed Georgia man was shot and killed by a police officer moments after brandishing a firearm in a patrol car, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. Charles Smith, picked up on outstanding warrants in Savannah late Thursday morning, had been cuffed behind his back before police say he kicked out one of the car’s windows and managed to move his hands to his front. At that moment police say the 29-year-old revealed himself to be armed while attempting his escape. Officer David Jannot, who’s described as a 10-year veteran of the force, opened fire, killing Smith at the scene. Police said a firearm was recovered beneath his body. “This information is based on the GBI’s preliminary investigation,” the agency said in a release. “The GBI will continue to thoroughly investigate this incident to determine exactly what occurred.” What’s the point of even having tasers? Daniel Martin Jr., 41, called police to report vandals in his driveway, but when police arrived, they fatally shot Martin, reports News Oklahoma. “They’re still at my front door,” the decorated Army veteran told a 911 dispatcher. He also advised the dispatcher that he was holding a gun just in case the vandals broke into his home. “I’m inside with my weapon,” he said. Still, when Martin opened his door, someone yelled “gun!” and police officers Elijah Garcia and Anthony Edwards opened fire on Martin. Drugs were found in Martin’s system and police say he was hallucinating and had also fired a shot into a closet, convinced that someone was hiding inside. Police also say a gun was fired from inside the home as they approached, although it is not clear why the shot was fired. Tina Martin said her husband suffered from post traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) and “had been struggling with it for some time.” Anti-depressants were also found in his system. He served in the Army from 1998 to 2004. The police have been cleared of any wrongdoing.

Atlanta Woman And Fiance Dead After Kidnapping And Premature Birth Via NYDailyNews A pregnant mother who was critically wounded in a weekend kidnapping that killed her fiancé has died after giving birth to a premature baby girl. Briana Brooks, 21, was taken off life support Thursday night at an Atlanta hospital after recovered with her fiancé, Jeronta Brown, 24, lying alongside a road early Saturday, WXIA reported. The couple, expecting their second child, was each found with a gunshot wound to the head in northwest Atlanta. “They were handcuffed, both of them,” Orenthious Martin, who came across the victims around 4:30 a.m. told WSBTV. “Not tied. There were handcuffs on them.” DeKalb police believe the Saturday morning attack outside a family home wasn’t random and the couple likely knew their abductors. But since their terrifying abduction, Atlanta police say they are investigating a second, similar kidnapping of a woman that occurred Thursday morning in East Atlanta. The story of the kidnapping is some wild isht straight out of a Hollywood movie. Jeronta’s aunt saw the whole thing first hand… She said the young couple was returning with their 8-month-old baby and Brown’s 14-year-old sister around 12:30 a.m. when they were ambushed by at least two masked men. “When they pulled up, they pulled up behind them so they were maybe following them,” Brown’s sister, who escaped by running into a neighbor’s yard with the baby, told WSBTV. Brown also managed to escape, said Myesha, but once he realized Brooks was not with him he came back for her. “Once he turned around and saw his fiancée laid out on the ground he just turned around and said you just might as well take me too,” she told WXIA. Myesha, who was inside the house when this all happened, said the abductors then turned their attention to the house. “The guys walked up, started ringing the door bell, banging on the door. ‘FBI, FBI!’” she said they shouted. Unable to get in, the men handcuffed the couple and then forced them inside of a brown van. Shortly after the vehicle left, Brown’s family said they received a phone call from his cellphone. The caller demanded $150,000 for his return. Tragically negotiations proved fruitless for their release. Roughly four hours later, their bodies were discovered approximately 17 miles away. Jeronta’s stepfather believes his son and girlfriend were targeted because the family had just received a large settlement check. Damn shame what people will do to each other over money. The rapper, along with five others, was arrested on Sunday in California on weapons charges. His bail was set at $1 million. “All six men have posted bail and are currently being processed,” CTE’s Steve “Steve-O” Carless told MTV News Thursday evening (August 28). “They will be out shortly.” The rapper pleaded not guilty to the charges in court on Tuesday, after police claim to have found an AK-47 on his tour bus. The Under the Influence tour stop was cancelled Sunday, which was two days after a 38-year-old man was killed backstage at a prior show in California on the tour. SMH Former Boxing Champ Jermain Taylor Charged With Shooting Cousin Via ESPN Former undisputed middleweight champion Jermain Taylor was arrested Tuesday night at his home in Maumelle, Arkansas, a suburb of Little Rock, in connection with the shooting of his cousin, according to police. Taylor was taken into custody, booked into the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility and charged with two felonies — first-degree domestic battery and aggravated assault — Lt. Carl Minden, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, told ESPN.com. The cousin was in serious condition at a hospital after being shot multiple times, Minden said. Taylor appeared via video from the Pulaski County jail for an initial appearance Wednesday. District Judge Wayne Gruber set bail at $25,000 and granted a defense request for Taylor to travel out of state to train and compete in a bout against Sam Soliman in October. Minden said the police responded to a 911 call from Taylor’s wife, Erica, at around 7 p.m. ET. “Mr. Taylor’s cousin and another individual came to his residence, and there was some sort of altercation,” Minden said, adding that the two who showed up at Taylor’s home were unarmed. “At some point, Mr. Taylor retrieved a handgun and fired several rounds. His cousin was struck multiple times. The cousin is alive and in serious condition at an area hospital. He has pretty serious injuries. A 9-year-old recently ended up killing her gun instructor when the kick-back from an Uzi set to automatic mode proved to be overwhelming for her. Via NBCnews : A shooting range instructor in Arizona was accidentally shot and killed by a 9-year-old girl who was learning how to shoot an Uzi, authorities said on Tuesday. Charles Vacca, 39, was teaching the girl how to use the automatic weapon on Monday morning at the Last Stop outdoor shooting range in White Hills, Arizona, when she pulled the trigger and the kickback caused the gun to lurch over her head, investigators said. Vacca was hit by a stray bullet and airlifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he was pronounced dead late Monday. The girl was at the range with her parents at the time, but their names were not released. Sam Scarmardo, the manager for the Last Stop’s shooting range, told NBC News that “the establish practice at most shooting ranges is 8 years old and up with parental supervision.” He said Vacca was a “great guy, with a great sense of humor” and called him “very conscientious and very professional.” Scarmardo said that the range has never had a similar incident in over a decade of being open — “not even a scratch.” “I just ask everybody to pray for Charlie, and pray for the client, she’s going to have a hard time,” said Scarmardo. Ronald Scott, a Phoenix-based firearms safety expert, said most instructors usually have their hands on guns when children are firing high-powered weapons. “You can’t give a 9-year-old an Uzi and expect her to control it,” Scott told the Associated Press.
