VH1 9 Mag Founder Ryan Henry Speaks On His Rocky Relationships With His Former Staff And His Current Relationship Status The 4th Season of “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” definitely got off to a rocky start, with 9 Mag now fractured between Ryan’s old team and his new one, so BOSSIP had to reach out and chop it up with Ryan Henry about what’s been going on since the end of Season 3, including whether there’s any hope of reconciliation and to learn whether or not he has managed to make things right with Rachel. BOSSIP: What have the reactions been like since the first episode of the season aired? Ryan Henry: The reactions have been all over the place. People have been with the show since Season 1. There’s a lot of different characters on the show and everyone is not gonna be in tune with whatever decision I decide to make. It’s been a ride though and there’s people who are still supporting from Season 1 and Season 2, so with Season 4 I really appreciate those people who are so supportive. BOSSIP: Glad to hear you’re holding up because that criticism can be hard to take. RH: I’m solid, I’m from Chicago. BOSSIP: Let’s get into the way the last season ended, how did you feel about Kat putting you on blast on TV? RH: People are gonna take it how they wanna take it. I don’t fault her for how she felt needed to go about it as a woman. I don’t have no hard feelings towards her I wish her the best. How did that affect your situation with Rachel off camera? RH: When things like that comes to light, I had to do what I needed to do to make sure things are right in my household. I’ve known Rachel 15 years of my life and she has my children. That’s not someone trying to make you act different, that’s just someone who cares about my life seeing something and wanting me to work on it for me to be better. Do you feel like Charmaine was disloyal? RH: I never felt that Charmaine was disloyal. I’m gonna give it to her just like I’d give it to Danielle. We brought you in the shop initially as Kat’s friends and when it was time for me to remove myself from those people, if they had to pick sides I couldn’t ask them to pick my side. If that woman and I weren’t in a comfortable space together I wouldn’t want her to come back and work whenever she wanted. She didn’t even live in Chicago, she lived in LA. So after we have a bad run in I’m not gonna say “Hey, come back and work whenever you want.” Like right now, we shouldn’t be working together. So for them to go against what I say for this business, that’s where I felt the disrespect. But that’s what I expect from them, those are Kat’s friends. In terms of the cast overall, who do you still have a relationship with? RH: Me and Phor, we went to high school together. That’s always been my brother, since before tattooing, and his brother Don had to handle what he had to do for business, but they always been my brothers. Even Danielle, I talked to Danielle, there’s no hard feelings. It looked like I just turned my back on everybody and they left me, but it gets hard over there too! There’s a lot that you’ll see on this new season. Did you want to clear the air at all, about the way the shop was destroyed? RH: You see what happened, you see what was implied, you only get 42 minutes to get a whole story on television. I would never admit to doing something as heinous as thatk, but you know things happen. If people wanna blame me for that, just like they’d try to blame me for something else, I ain’t locked up so, PROVE IT. Do you feel like “Black Ink” ruined 9Mag? RH: I don’t think it ruined 9 Mag. 9 Mag is the experience people get when they walk in to get a tattoo, it’s a great representation of Chicago and will continue to be that. I do feel like it ruined the relationships between people. That may be my fault because I brought people together to grow and be something better than themselves. Everybody can’t handle it. So what is the status of the new 9Mag? RH: Even in the first episode, what made people think it looked like I walked away, 9Mag is not that building, it’s wherever we take the experience, so stay tuned and you’ll see what’s coming for the new 9Mag. So is the shop open and ready right now? RH: I’m always working, but the shop will be open very soon and you’ll see we’re pretty much live with it. As it airs is as we’re opening. It’s just a pop-up shop, but still, it’s a big deal for her, right? It’ll open on December 9th in L.A., of course, and it will be designed to look like Kylie’s own house. The store will only be open as long as supplies last though, so probably like ten seconds. In reality, all the merchandise will be bought up quick by misguided teenage girls and scalpers, but it’s a nice sentiment. But enough about the shop — we’ve got boobs to look at. She’s really just going for it, huh? We’re not sure what lacy lingerie has to do with makeup — you can’t even see her face in this one, and you could barely see it in the first one for all the smoke — but we’ll just have to take what we can get. Well, we do now: We don’t know what’s gotten into Kylie lately, but it seems like she’s picked up her big sister Kendall’s love of nip slips . She’s been into bikini selfies and underwear selfies for a while now, but it seems like in the past month or so she’s been eager to show off them nips specifically. Before that, she posed topless for Complex magazine , and before that she put on some similar lingerie for a good old-fashioned mirror selfie . Kat Tat first stopped by to talk her loyalty to 9 Mag… “The thing that the show doesn’t see, we were open a while before the show even came. I paid my dues tremendously, I’ve held them down in ways you wouldn’t even think of. […] I know I’m not doing nothing wrong by minding my business and progressing myself. I’m just doing me.” her former “work husband” Phor… “I’m not interested at all anymore. Unfortunately I’m single. We had a long history since we opened up the shop, Ryan was like Uncle Ryan, Van was like Brother Van and Phor was the one—so it had been that since we met. There was chemistry there. I know what type of guy Phor is, I knew that he was into a lot of girls. It dragged on, it was a very hectic relationship for a while. Even after we ended on the show we messed around for a while. […] He does not have a bad bone in his body. It just didn’t work out, he’s unloyal God damnit.” and to give the real deal on those fights between her and Charmaine. “Charmaine and Danielle are actually both my best friends. They came to the shop to hang out with me then naturally they got close with the guys and then eventually started working there. Charmaine and I we’re like sisters, so when she kinda crossed on me—she knows everything that happened last season between me and the guys. They had my back, my girls are my support system. So just for her to switch a ll of a sudden, it hurt me more than anything. I’m anti-violence, so I would never go and punch somebody in the face but I did wanna go and wring her out. I would never wanna like whoop somebody. That’s not me.” On who won the fights: “I’m a Taurus so we see red. Security broke it up pretty quick— I guess [I won.]” Things got especially interesting however when Ryan and Charmaine stopped by and flat out denied that they were secretly a couple. Another sad story of gang violence: Thusha Kamaleswaran was left permanently paralysed after the gang-related shooting at her aunt’s shop in south London in March last year. In CCTV footage from the store, the little girl is seen playfully dancing in one of the aisles at Stockwell Food and Wine before panic breaks out and adults rush to the back of the store to escape gunfire. Thusha, wearing a red cardigan, can then be seen slumped on the floor at the bottom of shop shelves. The footage formed part of the evidence in the Old Bailey trial of three men accused of the shooting but has only been released publicly for the first time today. Jurors were warned before they were shown the film that they may find it disturbing. Prosecutor Edward Brown QC told them that they must view it with a ”clinical eye” and remain objective. In the CCTV clips, Thusha is seen skipping in the aisle, and as the shooting starts, she is surrounded by adults rushing to the front of the shop to see what is happening. They then retreat to the back of the store to escape the gunfire, to reveal Thusha slumped on the floor. Her uncle Mahadavan Vikneswaran then grabs her and carries her to the back of the shop. The chilling footage also shows shopper Roshan Selvakumar being hit in the face by another stray bullet. He can be seen staggering back onto shelving and blood pouring from his head, before he retreats to the back of the shop, still bleeding heavily on to the floor. Thusha twice went into cardiac arrest after a bullet passed through her body during the attack. It hit her in the chest and then passed through the seventh vertebra of her spine, leaving the little girl, now six, permanently wheelchair bound. Mr Selvakumar was left with bullet fragments lodged in his head which cannot safely be removed. Turn the page for the disturbing video.
Two words: Trifling beyotch. A mother offered up herself and her daughter this week for sex to pay off a debt at a Southgate pawnshop, the owner of the shop said Wednesday. Al Hassan, a co-owner of DaSilva’s Pawn and Exchange on Eureka, said the mother, believed to be in her mid-30s, came into the shop Monday night and offered him sex with her and her daughter, who he estimated to be 9-11 years old, if he agreed not to sell a laptop she pawned a few weeks ago for $120. A $25 payment was due to keep the laptop from being sold, Hassan said. Hassan said he quickly notified police and reported the incident to Children’s Protective Services. Southgate police confirmed they are looking into the allegations. “It’s still under investigation,” Lt. Kasper Ohannasian said. David Akerly, spokesman for the state Department of Human Services, said confidentiality laws prevent the state from commenting on individual cases, and he couldn’t confirm that the state is investigating. Local TV station WDIV said it interviewed the mother at her home in Monroe, Mich., and she said the offer was meant as a joke. “I wasn’t serious,” the mother said. “I don’t want to be considered a bad mother just because I needed some money for gas and groceries.” Hassan said he believes the woman may have a drug habit that drove her to desperation. “I felt disgusted,” Hassan said of his reaction to her offer. “I was sick.” Yeah right, this heffa knows good and damn well she wasn’t joking. Brian Byrne, the co-owner of the Son of a Gun Tattoo and Barbershop where the pop phenom got inked back in March, said the Biebs is just as dreamy in person as any screaming fan would expect. “He’s kind of hard to miss. He’s pretty cute,” Byrne told MTV News. “He’s, like, super cute, actually. That hair, that smile, those clothes, those major-high high-tops,” Byrne joked. Byrne also revealed at that the star’s Jonathan Livingston Seagull tattoo has special meaning for Bieber. “From what I can gather, I guess a bunch of people in his family actually have that same tattoo, his dad included,” Byrne said. Bieber’s dad accompanied the heartthrob as he got his body art. Byrne said the ink session went smoothly and that Bieber handled it like a champ. “He was a super nice kid. He was nice in our shop, he didn’t cry or nothing like that. It went really well. It was really cool to have him here.” But for fans freaking out that Bieber might be too young to get tatted up, Byrne said it’s up to the shop owners to decide who does and doesn’t get ink. Son of a Gun only tattoos kids younger than 18 who have parental consent. Plus, the shop has some pretty strict rules so youngsters don’t get stuck with eternally lame tattoos. “Anybody who’s under 25 we won’t do hands and neck,” Byrne said. “[If] a 16-year-old kid comes in and wants, like, a pot leaf or something … forget it. I don’t care if you have your parents’ consent, you’re gonna regret it.” Byrne said Bieber’s tattoo was different because it was a family tradition and that the overall experience was positive. “It was all really done in a good, clean way,” Byrne said.
