Katy Perry To Premiere ‘Part Of Me’ Video On ‘MTV First’

Singer will chat for 30 minutes after premiere on Wednesday, March 21, at 7:23 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. By MTV News staff Katy Perry in her “Part of Me” video Photo: Capitol Katy Perry is ready to give the world “Part of Me.” The singer will world-premiere the video for the track during “MTV First: Katy Perry” on Wednesday, March 21, at 7:23 p.m. ET on MTV. In addition to the video premiere, she will sit down with MTV News’ James Montgomery for a 30-minute chat about the video as well as her forthcoming album, Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection (out March 26), and her upcoming concert movie, “Katy Perry: Part of Me.” That all takes place on MTV.com. Perry’s fans can get in on the action immediately by submitting video or text questions beginning Thursday (March 15) via Twitter (using @MTVNews / hashtag #MTVFirst or #KatyQ ). Before the premiere of “Part of Me,” a tease of the clip will air on ” VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live ” on March 21 at 10 a.m. ET/PT, giving fans a taste of what they can expect from Katy in the video. In the super-fast teaser, Perry is channeling her inner marine. A few shots of guns and night vision preview boot camp for the singer. The sneak peek closes on Perry’s face painted in camouflage makeup. She shot the video on a military base in California in February. Immediately following the premiere of “Part of Me” on MTV, the video for the deeply emotional single will air on Logo, debut on MTV.com, VH1.com and LOGOtv.com, and go into rotation on mtvU, MTV Hits and AMTV the following morning. Additionally, the video will debut on Saturday, March 24, at 9 a.m. ET/PT during VH1’s “Top 20 Countdown” and on TeenNick’s “Obsess This” music block at 7 a.m. ET and Sunday, March 25, at 8:30 a.m. ET. This is hardly the first time that Perry has gotten the “First” treatment. In 2011, she sat down with Sway Calloway to premiere her trippy Floria Sigismondi-directed video for her chart-topping Teenage Dream single “E.T.” She later won the Best Collaboration VMA with Kanye West for the video. By Jocelyn Vena LMFAO at the 2011 VMAs Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images LOS ANGELES — David Guetta’s just-dropped new album, Nothing but the Beat, features a handful of A-list contributors, including Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, will.i.am, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Akon and Usher. It’s Guetta’s latest entry into the world of mainstream music, and it seems that everyone in pop is scrambling to work with him. When MTV News caught up with dance duo LMFAO, who worked with the French house-music DJ on the 2010 track “Gettin’ Over You” (also featuring Fergie and Chris Willis), they revealed the real reason why everyone in the business wants to hop in the studio with Guetta. “Well, he is a party starter; great DJ, great personality,” RedFoo told MTV News last week before the 2011 Video Music Awards . “He shares his software with you. [He’s like] ‘Here’s the whole bundle, enjoy.’ I don’t think we’re supposed to talk about that … but he would.” RedFoo’s party partner, SkyBlu, said Guetta is such a pleasure to work with because he’s an easygoing guy. “[He’s the] happiest person you’ve ever met. He’ll put a smile on your face no matter how bad your day’s going. [If] you’re gonna hang out with David, you’re gonna have a smile on your face.” While they didn’t share whether they had any plans to work with Guetta again, the guys did reveal that they shot the video for their next single, “Sexy and I Know It,” in L.A. earlier this week. Big Sean And Chris Brown Shoot Video For “My Last”

Sorta new black kid on the block Big Sean just shot the video for his debut single “My Last” featuring Chris Brown. The song, released earlier this year, is a fan’s introduction to Sean’s freshman album Finally Famous , which is set to hit stores in May, courtesy of G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam Records. Pittsburgh MC tells MTV News he just ‘came up with’ follow-up to ‘Black and Yellow.’ By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Matt Elias Wiz Khalifa Photo: MTV News Wiz Khalifa may not be an environmentalist, but the Pittsburgh rapper does have a thing for the green movement. So for a follow-up to his breakout hit “Black and Yellow,” it only makes sense he tap a resource he’s familiar with. “The next single is called ‘Roll Up,’ surprisingly,” he told MTV News with a laugh. “Really, I just needed another single and we were trying to come up with a look and then me and [my manager] talked about it,” Wiz continued. “We talked about it for three minutes. And then I came up with that song.” The track is slated for release on his forthcoming debut album, which is yet-untitled but tentatively scheduled for a March release. “I’m definitely looking forward to my next single coming out,” Wiz said. “I’m looking forward to my album dropping in late March, which is gonna be exciting for me and the Taylors worldwide. Like I keep saying, always keep building on top of my brand, keep doing what I’m doing and make new fans.” The MC is currently in Los Angeles, where MTV News visited Wiz and Snoop Dogg as they shot the video for the remix, or G-mix, to Wiz’s “Black and Yellow.” “Black and yellow, ahh, black and yellow/ See me now they treating me like I’m somebody special,” Wiz spits on the remix. “Smoking on that good, know it’s me soon as they smell it/ You can chill, I’m the one who get it, not the one who sell it/ I grind every day, I’m balling, I can’t help it/ N—as on that bullsh–, my pockets full of Celtics.” Snoop sent a picture to Twitter of the pair partaking in some smoke-filled activities while in the studio over the weekend. “Tha Dogg N @RealWizKhalifa blowin’ like a broke stove, ya digggggggg?!?!?!” Snoop wrote. If you’ve ever wanted to look as ripped as Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino from Jersey Shore, well here’s your chance. You don’t even have to take HGH either. The reality star is releasing a workout DVD so his fans can get their own abdominal situation on. He shot the video in New Jersey the other day with GT Media. Sources tell the N.Y.
