According to ESPN Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is holding what authorities say appears to be a gun in several surveillance photos that were released Thursday and had been recorded shortly after his friend was shot to death. The photos taken from Hernandez’s home surveillance system are contained in more than 100 pages of court records released by Attleboro District Court. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old Boston semi-professional football player whose body was found June 17 in an industrial park about a mile from Hernandez’s home. Lloyd was shot five times. The pictures show Hernandez in his basement holding a gun shortly after Lloyd was killed, an affidavit released Thursday says. The surveillance was cut off within minutes. Other photos show what authorities say is Hernandez in his living room, a few hours before Lloyd’s killing, also holding what they believe is a gun. Police say Lloyd was killed with a .45 caliber gun, but it has not been recovered. The previously sealed documents were released after several media organizations, including The Associated Press, filed motions seeking access and Judge Daniel O’Shea agreed Wednesday that they are public records. Defense attorneys have objected to the unsealing of the records, saying it is “systematically undermining” Hernandez’s right to a fair trial. The affidavit in support of the arrest warrant for Aaron Hernandez was unsealed Thursday. These documents contain explicit language. PDF Also Wednesday, O’Shea sided with prosecutors who asked to delay a probable cause hearing for Hernandez to give them more time to present evidence in the murder case to a grand jury. That hearing was rescheduled for Aug. 22. Hernandez will continue to be held without bail until then. Prosecutors say Hernandez orchestrated Lloyd’s killing because he was upset at him for talking to people Hernandez had problems with at a nightclub a few days earlier. They say Hernandez and two associates, Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz, drove with Lloyd to the North Attleborough industrial park. Authorities have not said who fired the shots, but documents filed in Florida portray the former Patriot as the triggerman. According to the records, Ortiz told police that Wallace said Hernandez fired the shots. The Patriots released Hernandez within hours of his arrest. Word is that Jody never did an interview, he was just Shay’s date for the morning. A close source tells BOSSIP this new relationship is only three weeks in. Southern California Wildfire Prompts Evacuation According to CNN A Southern California wildfire grew from 10 acres to more than 6,500 acres in a mere five hours Thursday, prompting the evacuation of homes and the campus of California State University Channel Islands, officials said. Winds reaching 25 mph aided the Springs Fire in Ventura County, and weather conditions grounded fixed-wing air tankers, allowing only helicopters to drop water, fire officials said. The blaze was 0% contained Thursday evening, officials said. Meanwhile, authorities late Thursday afternoon reopened a nine-mile leg of California’s scenic Pacific Coast Highway just north of Malibu, the California Highway Patrol said. The patrol had shut it down for a few hours as the fire threatened to approach the coast. That affected portions of the highway that runs between the ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains. The fire was one of two wildfires that firefighters were battling in the Los Angeles area. The other one was east of the city in Riverside County. The Ventura County blaze prompted the evacuation of homes in Newbury Park, fire authorities said. More than 850 fire and law personnel were assigned to the growing conflagration that began near Camarillo, where Cal State Channel Islands is located. The university campus will remain closed through Friday, the school said. Equipment included 96 fire engines, six helicopters and three fixed-wing aircraft, authorities said. In the evacuated Dos Vientos neighborhood, firefighters took a preventive posture beside million-dollar, Spanish mission style houses with red tile roofs. Shooting at the airport? SMH. Man Killed At Airport According to ABC News A man who had fired a gun inside a ticketing area at Houston’s largest airport was killed after being confronted by a law enforcement official during an incident that sent people in the terminal scrambling and screaming, police said Thursday. It’s unclear if the man fatally shot himself or was killed by a Homeland Security agent who had confronted him, said Houston police spokesman Kese Smith. The man’s name was not released by police, but they said he was about 30-years-old. Police say the man walked into the ticketing area in Terminal B at Bush Intercontinental Airport around 1:35 p.m. and fired at least one shot into the air. The agent, who was in his office, came out and confronted the man, telling him to drop his weapon, but the man refused, police said. “The suspect then turned toward the special agent. The special agent, fearing for his safety and all the passengers in the terminal, discharged his weapon at the same time it appears the suspect may have shot himself,” Smith said. The man died at the scene. An autopsy will be conducted Friday. Police would not say what kind of weapon the man had. The terminal was closed immediately after the shooting. But later Thursday, parts of the terminal were reopened to passengers. The rest of the airport remained open after the shooting. Darian Ward, a spokeswoman for the Houston Airport System, said some passengers who were scheduled to leave from Terminal B were rerouted to other terminals. Dale Howard, of Tomball, was at the baggage handling area of the airport waiting for his sister to arrive on an incoming flight when he heard two shots fired from the floor above. A few seconds later, he said he heard three more shots. “People were screaming. I knew exactly what it was — gunfire,” Howard said. Police from an adjacent station rushed in, and Howard said he directed them to the floor above. Greg Newburn, who was in the terminal waiting for a flight to Oklahoma City, said he was sitting in a cafe area when he heard two gunshots and after a pause, several more. “It seemed like quite a few shots. Everyone was scrambling, running left and running right, turning tables up and hiding behind tables. Nobody knew what was happening. I couldn’t tell where the shots were coming from,” he said.
