Source: NICHOLAS KAMM / Getty Former President Barack Obama released a personal statement on Monday condemning “language coming out of the mouths of any of our leaders” that “normalizes racist sentiments.” Although the statement did not directly name Donald Trump , the statement comes on the heels of two mass shootings in the country on Saturday, one of which carried out by a white supremacist suspect. “We should soundly reject language coming out of the mouths of any of our leaders that feeds a climate of fear and hatred or normalizes racist sentiments; leaders who demonize those who don’t look like us, or suggest that other people, including immigrants, threaten our way of life, or refer to other people as sub-human, or imply that America belongs to just one certain type of people,” Obama wrote. Source: Mint Images / Getty The efforts of a Pennsylvania businessman were denied after he reportedly offered to pay off $22,467 of a school district’s lunch debt in order to thwart the reported plans of administrators who threatened to place students in foster care over the unpaid debts. Two weeks ago, a widely circulated letter sent to parents from the Wyoming Valley West school district disturbingly laid out a plan of action for parents with unpaid lunch debts. ( Terms and conditions ). “Your child has been sent to school every day without money and without a breakfast and/or lunch,” the July 9 letter states. “This is a failure to provide your child with proper nutrition and you can be sent to Dependency Court for neglecting your child’s right to food.” “If you are taken to Dependency court, the result may be your child being removed from your home and placed in foster care,” the letter continues. “Please remit payment as soon as possible to avoid being reported to the proper authorities.” Sign Up For Our Newsletter! Email Submit In an op-ed for The Philadelphia Inquirer, La Colombe Coffee Roasters CEO Todd Carmichael shared his frustration over what he referred to as “shaming” and burdensome in the eyes of parents and local taxpayers. Michael stated that he received a firm “no” from the school’s school board president Joseph Mazur. “On Monday, we talked to School Board President Joseph Mazur to determine the best way to transfer the funds in order to wipe the slate clean and restore dignity to the 1,000 families who received these threatening letters,” Carmichael wrote. Let me be clear: we offered over $22,000 with no strings attached. And he said ‘No,’” Carmichael continued. “Mr. Mazur, I am offering to pay this debt in full. By saying no, you are not just shaming families who elected you, but you are placing this burden on WVW taxpayers, and that is completely unfair,” he added. Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey called the school district’s actions “callous” on Twitter and urged administrators to cease the threats of foster care. Moving forward, the School District has an obligation to find an appropriate way to collect these funds, instead of using threats — Senator Bob Casey (@SenBobCasey) July 19, 2019 The situation is shockingly similar to a story we reported on in May, where a school in Rhode Island served peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to students with unpaid balances and denied the efforts of a local businesswoman who wanted to help pay off a fraction of the debt. Low-income students have again become collateral in the fight for who gets to eat and who is objectified for doing so. Source: Def Jam/Mass Appeal / Daniel Arsham The project features a number of top-notch and truly iconic Hip-Hop producers including Pete Rock, the Alchemist, Swizz Beats and the RZA, amongst others, hooking up the Queensbridge rapper with beats. Even Kanye West got a groove in, but the project is much better than that Nasir album from 2018 most already forgot about. This is a fact, it’s Nas’ lowest-selling album to date. At 16 tracks the album still manages to clock in at just a minute under an hour. Try not to skip to the RZA (“Tanasia,” “Highly Favored”) and Pete Rock (“The Art Of It,” “Queens Bridge Politics”) joints and enjoy the ride. Take a listen to The Lost Tapes 2 below.

The film, based on the story “ The Hustlers At Scores ” written by Jessica Pressler , the film follows Destiny (Wu) as she attempts to provide by any means for her family. Not long after starting a new job as an exotic dancer she meets Ramona (Lopez), who drops probably the money quote of the movie, “When I was a kid, I wanted to work with animals … I was close.” Well, here’s the subtle introduction to their whole crew with Keke Palmer , Cardi, Lizzo (throw them stripper heels!), Lili Reinhart and more. Ramona then hatches a plan, scam the rich, unsuspecting high rollers that come into the club. Source: Leon Bennett / Getty The Game has largely avoided paying off a massive $7 million judgment in a sexual assault matter involving a contestant of his now-defunct VH1 reality series, She Got Game . Although Priscilla Rainey was denied seizure of Game’s royalties this past April, it appears now she will have access to those monies until the judgment is fully settled. The Blast reports : A judge has ordered that rapper The Game won’t see a dime of his music royalties until a $7 million judgment is paid off. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, a Los Angeles judge granted a motion brought by Priscilla Rainey, which will allow her to collect any money that comes in for The Game from his record label or royalties paid to him.
