The setting was the family home’s basement with Lisa’s father speaking with Martin’s father, who was played by legendary actor stage and TV actor Moses Gunn. The two were having a playful discussion about James Moody’s jazz standard, “I’m in the Mood for Love,” and begin signing it when Wilson, accompanied by Phylicia Rashad ‘s Clair Huxtable, strides onto the set, flashed her signature smile and belted out the rest of the song’s lyrics. That prompted Claire to join in as the two ladies walk down the stairs to join their husbands in song, bringing the studio audience to a resounding round of applause when she was finished. Danny Roberts, a former cast member on the The Real World: New Orleans, has revealed something very sad and very personal iin a new interview with Entertainment Weekly. He is HIV positive. “The reason I want to share this story is that I spent so long battling and beating myself up for my own misconceptions and bigotry,” the 41-year-old said this week, adding: “It is difficult to admit the negative feelings you had about a set of people and state of being based on made-up stories.” Roberts appeared on the aforementioned MTV reality series in 2000. At that time, he was dating a military officer named Paul Dill, whose face was obscured by the network so he wouldn’t be discharged under the controversial “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. It was unusual for a prominent television show to depict such a relationship during that area. Back then, Roberts famously spoke out against the since-repealed policy, which forced LGBT servicepeople to hide or lie about their sexual orientation. Roberts shunned the spotlight for a number of years after making a name for himself on The Real World. However, he recently moved to New York City, where he works as a digital design recruiter and is a dad to an adopted 2 1/2-year-old daughter. He discovered his disease in 2011 after passing out and then waking up in a pool of blood. Worried, he called his physician and explained what had transpired. The doctor replied with the diagnosis (from a previous week’s check-up that he had been waiting to reveal to Roberts until they met again in person) that would change his life forever. “My first reaction was shock. Then I was angry, then lots of denial,” Roberts tells EW , elaborating: “Those early years were very difficult and very lonely. You don’t know whom to turn to have conversation and people don’t know what to say. It’s not something that people have experience with. “There’s also the potential likelihood of massive judgments about what behaviors led to this and what kind of people this happens to.” At this point, there is good news, though: Roberts says that he has been “undetectable” since being diagnosed, which means that he has a low level of the virus in his blood. This also means it cannot be sexually transmitted to another person. Danny adds that he’s remained close with Real World co-star Kelley Limp, who is pictured with Roberts and company below. “She’s my life sister,” he told EW. “She was one of the first people I turned to and talked to. She has been strong and helped me through this.” In conclusion, meanwhile, Roberts does not want you feeling sorry for him. He wants to emphasize that he isn’t dying due to HIV; he is living with the illness. “The last thing I ever want is pity. I just want people to know and be aware. As such, there was some scuttlebutt regarding whether she would mark the occasion at all, and whether the famously vitriolic British tabloid press would give her any flak if she did. So far, no shade has been thrown, but you can bet Meghan’s evil half-sister Samantha can’t wait to talk her signature brand of semi-literate trash. And nowhere has that been more clear than among its leadership, which has suffered a series of missteps and blunders that may have contributed to Democrats not being as successful as they had hoped in the crucial elections. Marcia Fudge , a member of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), is one of the latest to hint at plans to compete for the coveted House Speaker post, telling the Huffington Post on Thursday that she’s “overwhelmed” by all the folks who want to see her challenge Pelosi’s leadership. “I don’t hate Nancy. I think Nancy has been a very good leader. I just think it’s time for a new one,” she said, adding that there are far more lawmakers who oppose Pelosi’s leadership than the 17 who signed a letter saying they won’t vote for her to continue as speaker in 2019. “I've not made a decision, I'm still thinking about it,” Rep. Shortly after Democrats won control of the House, the speaker began talking about the same bipartisanship that the Trump-led Republicans have avoided like the plague. Meanwhile, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez also came under fire from the CBC. Caucus members passed a vote of no confidence on Wednesday against Perez who took over the DNC in February 2017. Perez praised Black women for leading the party to victory last year in key races in Virginia and Alabama. However, when it came to several Black women candidates in 2018 races, the party showed little support initially, like in the case of Ayanna Pressley . Yet those same Black women stepped up as voters and candidates alike to help the party regain control of the House. A little-known fact about Kim Porter was reverberating across social media in the hours after the sudden death of the model, actress and doting mother was announced Thursday afternoon. One of the most iconic ’90s R&B jams was reportedly not only written with her in mind, but it was written by an iconic R&B singer in his own right. “Forever My Lady,” a chart-topping single released from Jodeci’s smash, multi-platinum debut album of the same name, was written by singer Al B. Sure!, who fathered a child with Porter in June of 1991. Less than a month later, Jodeci released their album and put out their signature single two months later. Al B Sure! reportedly wrote the song about Porter and dedicated it to their son, Quincy. Al B. Sure discussed his role in creating the song during an episode of “Unsung” on TVOne. Stan Lee, arguably the best known comic book creator of all-time, passed away Monday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was 95 years old. Lee’s daughter confirmed this very sad piece of news to TMZ. The website writes that Lee was rushed from his home in Hollywood Hills to the aforementioned facility, although it’s unclear at this time what medical condition prompted the emergency. The legendary writer, however, had suffered numerous illnesses over the last year or so, including a semi-recent bout of pneumonia and a number of vision issues. He had receded from the public eye for most of 2018 as a result. Lee started out in the comic business back in 1939. Along with Jack Kirby, he co-founded Marvel in 1961 via the introduction of The Fantastic Four. He went on to create Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man and The Avengers, among many other notable, memorable and beloved characters. Lee was always revered in the comic book universe, but he became a true pop culture icon about a decade ago after the success of the first Iron Man movie. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has basically taken over the movie world in that time and Lee has made a cameo in every Marvel film to date. In 2009, the Walt Disney Co. bought Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion. Three years later, The Avengers grossed $1.52 billion worldwide take and two years after that, Lee acknowledged his important role not just in the entertainment industry — but in the world as a whole. “I used to think what I did was not very important,” he told the Chicago Tribune in April of 2014, adding at the time: “People are building bridges and engaging in medical research, and here I was doing stories about fictional people who do extraordinary, crazy things and wear costumes. “But I suppose I have come to realize that entertainment is not easily dismissed.” A native of Manhattan, Lee wrote, art-directed and edited most of Marvel’s series and newspaper strips. He also wrote a monthly comics’ column, “Stan’s Soapbox,” signing off with his signature phrase, “Excelsior!” Lee played a vital role as Marvel transitioned into TV during the 1980s, serving as narrator on animated series like Incredible Hulk and X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men, and executive producing the 1990s animated series Spider-Man. In 2002, Lee published an autobiography, Excelsior! The Amazing Life of Stan Lee . Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse will be the next installment of the Marvel film franchise and will be released next month; it’s very safe to assume there will be a dedication to Lee in the credits. The writer’s survivors include a daughter, J.C., and younger brother, Larry Lieber, who works as a writer and artist for Marvel. Another daughter, Jan, died in infancy. Lee’s wife, Joan, was a hat model whom he married in 1947. She passed away last year. Said J.C. to TMZ shortly after confirming her dad’s death: “My father loved all of his fans.
