Mariah Carey posed for her first American Idol promotional photo a couple weeks ago, and it was beautiful and everything. But a new pair of pictures, uploaded by the singer herself, is eliciting far more of a reaction online. And it all goes something like this: AWWWWW! Over the weekend, Carey Tweeted a photo of herself and son Moroccan in bed, adding the caption: “Me&Roc Starr taking a lil nap.” Not wanting to leave little Monroe out, she then added one of her son’s twin, responding to followers with: “As per your request, me & ms. Monroe on a lazy day: ).” Looks like the perfect summer afternoon for a new mother, doesn’t it?

Miley Cyrus has undergone an extreme makeover, and she’s received some extreme backlash in response. Not long after the singer debuted a radically short haircut on Twitter, fans and celebrities alike shared their opinion on the light locks, many of them negative. Tyler the Creator, for example, Tweeted to Miley “Your barber is an a**hole.” He later deleted the message. But Miley is taking the criticism very much in stride, writing this afternoon. “My dad Billy Ray Cyrus used to tell me, ‘opinions are are like a**holes –everybody has one.’ LOVE my hair. Feel so happy, pretty, and free.” We’re actually on Miley’s side on this one. All the way. Way to stand tall and proud of who you are! As for anyone who can’t keep his/her opinions to themselves? Cyrus is maintaining a single reaction to these haters of her hair: “Giving face all day.” We’re not sure what that means. But what do you think of Miley’s new ‘do?

Whitney Houston would have turned 49 years old today. Sadly, of course, this is not the case, as the legendary singer passed away from an apparent overdose in February. But it’s worth taking a few moments this morning in her honor and remember just how special and impressive of a voice this singer possessed. Perhaps the greatest rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner in history will help jog your memory:
Rihanna has been nixed as the face of Nivea products. No specific reason or action was cited as the reason, but Stefan Heidenreich, the head of the brand, clearly isn’t a big fan of the controversial singer. Heidenreich publicly expressed disapproval with the skin care line’s decision to have the sexy star as its public face, saying “Rihanna is a no-go.” “I do not understand how to bring the core brand of Nivea in conjunction with Rihanna. Nivea stands for trust, family and reliability,” he added. Heidenreich told the singer’s ads shot last year – see one of our all-time favorite Rihanna pictures above – should have never been released. Ouch. Tell us how you really feel. For her part, Rihanna responded by posting a generic head shot of Heidenreich on her Twitter with the caption, “No caption necessary.” So, yeah. That about sums it up.

Nivea Skincare Exec Says Rihanna Is Too Raunchy To Represent The Brand An ad exec for the skincare company ‘Nivea’ says he’s not feelin’ Rih-Rih’s ratchet behavior and raunchy outfits as an image that should be associated with their brand. The company was originally thrilled to have the Barbados-born banger on board as a spokesperson, but they seemed to have changed their mind in light of……recent events. She’s known for her sexy attitude, raunchy outfits and outrageous behaviour. So it comes as little surprise that Rihanna’s advert for Nivea has been deemed too sexy to front campaigns for the skincare brand. The star appeared in a series of adverts for the firm, which was a sponsor of her world tour last year, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the company. And now cosmetic tycoon Stefan Heidenreich – the new head of Nivea’s parent firm, Beiersdorf – has told German media that the singer should have been considered a ‘no go’ for the brand’s family image. The 49-year-old said: ‘The advert starring Rihanna was a no go. I do not understand how Nivea can be brought into association with Rihanna.’ In one ad, a family is seen moisturising with Nivea while Rihanna’s sultry hit California King Bed plays in the background. Heidenreich added: ‘Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability.’ When Nivea signed up the star last year they said they were ‘very excited’ to have her on board. Nivea board member Markus Pinger said in a press release at the time: ‘Over the past 100 years, Nivea has been an iconic skin-care brand across the world. ‘Rihanna is a music icon and her digital footprint will help us bring our anniversary celebration to consumers wherever they are. Hmmm. We wonder if Rih will start to tone it down now since this is messing with her money…. Source
