New Justin Timberlake Song ‘Take You Down’ Leaks

Club-ready tune was reportedly produced by the Neptunes. By James Dinh Justin Timberlake Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/ FilmMagic Justin Timberlake has said over and over again that he’s not ready to record a new album. Nonetheless, that hasn’t stopped the pop star-turned-actor from hitting the studio for collaborations with other artists and doing some recording here and there for himself. His latest musical serving to appease his hungry fans is a track called “Take You Down,” which leaked online Thursday (December 30). Timberlake opens the drum-heavy track with a summon to all the girls, before a female vocalist echoes the matching line with a series of stuttering “uh-oh’s.” The song, reportedly produced by the Neptunes, finds JT luring, tempting and somewhat challenging his female interest. “I’ve seen my magic/ What’s your looks and your religion?/ And I want you to understand that I can make you feel better/ So it’s me and you, my place, sexiness all day/ I’mma do whatever you like, if you cater to me all night, girl,” he sings during the second verse. In addition to production credits, various Internet blogs have reported that “Take You Down” may in fact be a demo as opposed to one of the 29-year-old’s own songs. Timberlake recently spoke to the Los Angeles Times about fans who feel like the star has neglected his musical calling. “They’re looking at me like, ‘Why aren’t you staying with one path?’ ” he said. “They look at me like I’m ungrateful for my music career because I want to do film.” Until JT feels ready to hit the studio to record the follow-up to 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds, fans will have to make do with the singer’s scarce musical ventures. His next offering may be a collaboration with Drake , who recently revealed, “I’ve always wanted to work with him, and it’s in the works right now: Me and Justin Timberlake will probably have a song soon.” What do you think of “Take You Down”? Dr. Conrad Murray’s Defense: Michael Jackson Killed Himself

Prosecutors in the Michael Jackson manslaughter case alluded to the defense Dr. Conrad Murray is likely to use in court – that the singer killed himself. Not on purpose of course, but according to the legal team of the physician on trial for his death, Jackson killed himself with a fatal dose of Propofol. L.A. County Deputy D.A. David Walgren says it’s “clear the defense is operating under the theory that the victim, Michael Jackson, killed himself.” REASONABLE DOUBT? Is Murray’s theory enough to beat the rap? Murray claims he left Michael’s bedroom the day he died (June 25, 2009) to go to the bathroom. MJ awoke and, in a moment of frustration, injected a massive dose of the anesthetic Murray was administering to treat his insomnia. Walgren said of the Dr. Conrad Murray and his lawyers in court, “They don’t want to say it, but that’s the direction in which they are going.” In fact, they don’t want to say anything . At the preliminary hearing, the defense plans on staying silent and letting the D.A. reveal its hand. The defense believes there’s no way this is not going to trial, and as such, will wait to see the prosecution outline its case before it decides how to proceed, using both the above theory and claims that other doctors over-medicated Michael .

Teena Marie Autopsy Fails To Pinpoint Cause Of Death

No signs of trauma were discovered on late singer’s body, Los Angeles County assistant chief coroner tells The Associated Press. By Mawuse Ziegbe Teena Marie Photo: Jean Baptiste Lacroix/ Getty Images Days after soul singer Teena Marie suddenly died , answers about her death remain in short supply. According to The Associated Press, investigators said an autopsy turned up no signs of trauma or a discernible cause of death. Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said Marie’s cause of death may be determined by toxicology tests, the results of which would be available in around six weeks. No illegal drugs were found in a search of the singer’s Pasadena home earlier this week, and the AP reports that police said Marie appeared to have died from natural causes. Marie was found unresponsive in her home Sunday after she settled in for an afternoon nap. TMZ reported that Marie might have suffered a grand mal seizure while she slept, which may have contributed to her death. The songstress’ publicist has also said Marie experienced a grand mal seizure a month ago, from which she was still recovering, and had since reportedly insisted on having someone nearby when she was sleeping. According to Essence, Marie had suffered an additional seizure en route to the hospital after she sustained an attack last month. She was unable to secure an appointment with a neurologist for another three weeks and was prescribed medication in the interim. However, her publicist, Lynn Jeter, said the medication “made her suicidal,” so Marie reduced the dosage. Marie also opened up to Essence last year about her struggle with an addiction to prescription medication after the sudden 2004 death of her onetime musical mentor and paramour Rick James . “After his death I became addicted to Vicodin, which I had been taking for my physical pain because I’d had a lot of accidents. Once I realized that those pills not only took away my physical agony by masking my emotional pain, I really became addicted. When I was on the medication I never cried about him, but then I went cold turkey and I cried so much and have been for the last three years,” she said. “He was my musical soul mate. We were like an extension of each other. I miss all our talks. We were like family; only family can talk about family, not anyone else.” Share your memories of Teena Marie in the comments. Michael Jackson Doctor To Claim Singer Killed Himself

Prosecutor thinks Dr. Conrad Murray’s lawyers will say Jackson self-administered lethal dose of propofol. By Gil Kaufman Michael Jackson Photo: Sony/ AEG More than 19 months after Michael Jackson’s shocking death at the age of 50, the only person charged in the case, the singer’s former personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray, is due in court next week. And, according to a Reuters report, Murray’s lawyers plan to defend Murray against a charge of involuntary manslaughter by claiming that the pop icon killed himself when he self-administered a large dose of propofol, a surgical anesthetic Jackson used as a sleep aid to combat chronic insomnia. Murray has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of involuntary manslaughter and has admitted to giving Jackson propofol. Murray’s lawyers have said the physician did not administer any drugs that “should have” caused Jackson’s death. The investigation into his death was lengthy, lasting more than eight months, after which Los Angeles prosecutors charged that Murray gave the King of Pop a lethal combination of propofol and other painkillers and sedatives in the hours before the singer was found dead in his rented Los Angeles mansion on June 25, 2009. Murray faces up to four years in prison if convicted. Reuters reported that in a Wednesday court session to discuss evidence in the case against Murray, Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney David Walgren said he thinks that the doctor’s attorneys appear to be preparing a defense claiming that Jackson self-administered the lethal dose while Murray was out of the room. Murray’s attorney would not respond to questions about Walgren’s statements. Murray’s trial is slated to begin on January 4 with a preliminary hearing that will determine if there is enough evidence to proceed to a full trial. Prosecutors and defense attorneys said they expect the preliminary hearing to take around two weeks. Related Photos Michael Jackson: A Life In Photos Related Artists Michael Jackson

Katy Perry’s ‘Part Of Me’ Leaks Online

Uptempo pop-rock tune is reportedly lifted from singer’s Teenage Dream recording sessions. By James Dinh Katy Perry Photo: lai seng sin/ AFP/ Getty Images Just a few weeks ago, Katy Perry confessed that she was ready to take her relationship with Russell Brand to the next level by taking his last name. Despite the amorous stage in her life, the pop star appears strong, bold and just a tad resentful after a breakup on the previously unheard pop-rock song “Part of Me,” which surfaced on the Internet on Wednesday. With reported production by pop mastermind Dr. Luke, the song has Perry declaring herself unbreakable after an ugly breakup, singing , “Days like this I want to drive away/ Pack my bags and watch your shadow fade/ ‘Cause you chewed me up and spit me out/ Like I was poison in your mouth/ You took my light, you drink me down/ That was then and this is now, now look at me.” Similar to the pop star’s hit single “California Gurls,” the tune’s steady beat amplifies as the chorus opens. “This is the part of me/ That you’re never gonna ever take away from me/ Throw your sticks in the stones/ Throw your palms in your clothes/ But you’re not gonna break my soul/ This is the part of me that you’re never gonna ever take away from me,” she sings. “Part of Me” is rumored to be a leftover cut from the singer’s Teenage Dream recording sessions. However, fans have speculated that the track may be included in a yet-to-be-confirmed re-release of the Grammy-nominated LP. In addition to the new material, fans can rejoice in yet another Perry tune, “E.T.,” as online reports have indicated that the futuristic song has been selected as the pop star’s next single. Despite multiple live performances of the song, Perry took to Twitter to ask her legion of fans which track they’d like the singer to release next. “Thanks for all your great suggestions for the next single today!” she tweeted on December 13. “Your voice has been heard! We’re on the same page…” What do you think of Katy’s latest song? Share your reviews in the comments! Related Photos Katy Perry’s Amazing Year Related Artists Katy Perry

Boney M Singer Bobby Farrell Dead

Frontman of ’70s disco band died at age 61 while on tour in Russia. By Gil Kaufman Bobby Farrell Photo: Gary Merrin/Getty Images Bobby Farrell, the energetic frontman of 1970s disco band Boney M, died on Thursday (December 30) in his hotel room in St. Petersburg, Russia, at the age of 61. Reuters reported that Farrell was found dead in his room the day after a show in the city where the band achieved some of its career highlights during the Soviet era. “He did a show last night as part of Bobby Farrell’s Boney M and they found him this morning dead in his hotel room,” agent John Seine told Reuters. “He did not feel well last night and was having problems with his breathing, but he did the show anyway.” The cause of death was not immediately released. The group, which formed in West Germany in the late 1970s, was put together by German record producer Frank Farian, best known for assembling the musicians who sang the vocals for sham 1990s pop duo Milli Vanilli. Farian, who made a career out of ghostwriting songs, was unable to make it as a singer, but when his tune “Baby Do You Wanna Bump” became a hit in 1976 under the stage name Boney M, he hired Farrell to act as the lead “singer” of the group. Though former exotic male dancer Farrell and fellow Boney members Marcia Barrett and Liz Mitchell sang live during concerts, Farrell’s vocals were largely absent from their biggest hits, including “Daddy Cool,” “Sunny,” “Ma Baker,” “Rivers of Babylon” and “Rasputin.” The group was well-received and scored a string of hits in Europe and Russia, but never really crossed over to the United States. They sold 80 million albums in their heyday and 1978’s “Rivers of Babylon”/”Brown Girl in the Ring” is still the fifth-best-selling British single of all time. By the time the group’s fifth studio album, Boonoonoonoos, was released in 1981, Farrell, known as the “King of Disco,” had been kicked out and replaced by another singer. Farrell (born Alfonso Farrell in Aruba on October 6, 1949) was slated to perform on New Year’s Eve in Italy. Related Artists Boney M

Anorexic French Model Isabelle Caro Dead

Caro brought Jessica Simpson to tears on ‘The Price of Beauty.’ By Gil Kaufman Though she died last month, the world is just now learning about the passing of French model Isabelle Caro. The 28-year-old Caro bravely became the face of eating disorders in 2007 when she appeared in a shocking billboard campaign warning of the dangers of anorexia during fashion week in Italy. In the ads, a painfully thin Caro, who weighed less than 60 pounds at the time, was depicted peering over her shoulder with the words “No. Anorexia” plastered in large letters across the top of the nude image. Caro became one of the leaders of an effort to warn about the dangers of eating disorders, but after the health effects of the disorder weakened her body, she died on November 17 following a long sickness, according to her acting coach, E! News reported. Caro said in interviews that she had suffered from anorexia nervosa since she was 13, telling CBS News in 2007 that she agreed to do the ad because “I said if I can put my years of suffering to good use then it will not have been pointless. … I know it’s a shocking photo, and I want it to shock. It’s really a warning that it is a serious illness.” In addition to working as a judge on “France’s Next Top Model,” Caro was featured in the second episode of Jessica Simpson’s VH1 reality series “The Price of Beauty,” in which the singer traveled the globe to uncover the lengths to which women go to attain what society believes is perfection. Caro’s appearance on the show brought Simpson to tears. “What you are doing right now makes you more beautiful and I hope women all over the world hear about the story,” Simpson told Caro on the show, during which the model described how even as a teenager who weighed just 89 pounds she was told she needed to lose weight. “To us, what you’re doing right now makes you one of the most beautiful people that we have ever seen. And we really just appreciate you sitting in front of us and having such powerful words. God bless you. … And I think it’s important for women to know that the skinnier you are doesn’t make you more beautiful.” Despite her disturbing image in the 2007 ad, Caro worried that some anorexia sufferers (sometimes known as pro-ana for their support of anorexia as a lifestyle choice) might misinterpret her message. “I hope not. To see my tailbone like an open wound, I show myself as I am. I’m not beautiful, my hair is ruined and I know I will never have long hair again. I’ve lost several teeth,” she said of her looks on the billboard. “My skin is dry. My breasts have fallen. No young girl wants to look like a skeleton. … You couldn’t believe anyone would want to look like that. I don’t think there’s any question about it.”
