Bret Michaels Leaves Hospital, Expected To Make Full Recovery

Poison frontman is receiving physical therapy and being monitored after his massive brain hemorrhage. By Eric Ditzian Bret Michaels Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage Bret Michaels has been discharged from Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix almost two weeks after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage , his doctor announced in a televised press conference on Tuesday (May 4). The Poison frontman is currently resting in an undisclosed location, where he is receiving physical therapy and being monitored. “He’s walking. He’s not walking very well. He’s talking very well, and he’s very mentally aware,” Dr. Joseph M. Zabramski said, adding, “He’ll fortunately make a 100 percent recovery.” Following a third angiogram that determined no aneurysm had taken place in his brain and that bleeding was no longer occurring, Michaels’ condition was downgraded from critical to stable. Zabramski was not at liberty to say where Michaels had been transferred but did say that airplane flight was not prohibited for someone in his condition. The 47-year-old singer will receive a fourth angiogram in two weeks to monitor his progress. While Michaels’ recovery continues, Zabramski said he is “really suffering again right now.” The reason for the suffering is that as the blood clot from his hemorrhage begins to “clear,” the clot’s various “blood products” create painful irritation inside the skull and along the spine. Steroids can usually be administered to mitigate the irritation, but Michaels’ diabetes prevents the use of such drugs. A clot can take seven to 10 days to clear, Zabramski said. Zabramski also said that Michaels’ situation was an extremely lucky one. Fifteen to 20 percent of people who suffer subarachnoid hemorrhages die before they can even reach a hospital. An additional 20 percent arrive at a hospital with severe deficits that assure lifelong cognitive and physical issues. While Michaels arrived at the hospital with slurred speech and memory lapses, Zabramski said that by the next day, his speech had returned to normal. The singer might continue to have problems with back pain and new problems with headaches but is expected to make a full recovery and is not at a higher risk to suffer a hemorrhage again. Asked when Michaels might resume his regular activities, Zabramski said he sees about four to six weeks of continued rest for the singer. But he went on to caution: “What I made him promise me is that he would not make any promises.” Share your well-wishes for Bret in the comments below. Chely Wright Opens Up About Suicidal Thoughts, John Rich Bigotry

Earlier this week, Chely Wright came out as gay . But that’s not the most dramatic news this country music singer has to share with the world. In an interview with Access Hollywood , Wright divulged that she was very close to suicide. The low point of her struggle with homosexuality, Chely said, took place during a discussion with fellow artist John Rich. She relayed it to the entertainment news show as follows: “He said, “You’re not gay are you?!” I said, “No, John, I’m not.” He said, “Good, thank God.” And that began a spiral for me. I had a meltdown shortly after that.” This self-described meltdown culminated with a loaded gun in Wright’s hand. “I was looking at myself in a mirror… as I was about to do it. I just looked at myself and something snapped and I started to cry… and I realized I have too much to live for. I may lose my career in country music, that will break my heart, but it’s okay. I have a lot of different pieces of my heart that matter and that’s what I’ve come to learn.” As we’ve said before, Wright’s admissions would seem less opportunistic if they came during a week that did not involve the releae of an autobiography and a new album. But why be cynical? Here’s to hoping this singer has found inner peace and is moving in a positive direction with her life.

Hayley Williams ‘Stoked’ To Shoot B.o.B’s ‘Airplanes’ Video

‘I think it’ll be a lot easier than a Paramore shoot but different and challenging in a new way,’ she tells MTV News. By James Montgomery Paramore’s Hayley Williams Photo: MTV News EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — B.o.B ‘s “Nothin’ on You” currently sits atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, and “Airplanes” — the second single from his The Adventures of Bobby Ray album — has just leapt into the top 10. The Atlanta MC, who already has a video for “Nothin’,” just shot a clip for his sophomore single, albeit one that’s missing a key component: Paramore ‘s Hayley Williams, who sings the track’s hook. But all that is going to change — and soon. When we spoke to Williams at this weekend’s Bamboozle music festival, the singer said she had already carved out time to shoot her portion of the “Airplanes” video, even if she didn’t quite know what she had signed up for. “Hopefully, right after this tour [ Paramore’s spring run with Relient-K and Fun], I’ll get to do my part of the B.o.B video,” she said. “I’m stoked, because I’ve seen a couple of treatments, and I don’t know exactly what I’m getting into yet, but I’m stoked about it, because I know it’ll be different, and I think it’ll be a lot easier than a Paramore shoot but different and challenging in a new way. It’ll definitely be shorter than a Paramore video; no 12-hour day on a chorus.” So what will Williams — who, to be honest, isn’t the first person you’d think would be popping up in a hip-hop video — be doing in “Airplanes”? Good question. Paramore bassist Jeremy Davis joked that “she’s gonna be on a boat with a swimsuit and a martini.” But Williams said she’ll be taking inspiration from some of the classics. Sort of. “Growing up, I saw a lot of hip-hop videos. I always liked TLC, and I always liked Aaliyah videos, I thought they were great. Missy Elliott videos were amazing. But obviously, I’m not going to get in front of a camera and pretend to be Aaliyah or Missy Elliott. I mean, I’m still Hayley from Paramore,” she laughed. “And that’s what I think is great about it; I’m bringing a different side to what B.o.B is doing … and I think what we do as a band actually fits in some weird way. I was looking at videos of him online, at his shows, and his crowd doesn’t look too far off from, like, the kind of people we play to; same age. It seems like a good match, and I’m excited to bring whatever I have to offer to the table for him.” And since she’ll be filming her portion of the video without B.o.B, it will keep one aspect of their collaboration intact: the fact that they’ve never actually met face-to-face. “We’ve never met in person,” Williams said. “We’ve talked on Twitter, and he’s really cool. We’ll never meet. We’re going to perform the song live via Skype.” What classic hip-hop videos would you like to see Hayley inspired by? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Paramore B.o.B

Jason Pfeiffer Alleges Gay Affair with Michael Jackson; Dr. Arnold Klein Backs Him Up

Jason Pfeiffer, a former dermatologist’s assistant and current CEO of a medical company, tells Extra that he had an affair with the late Michael Jackson. Moreover, he was his boyfriend right up until the King of Pop died. Pfeiffer claims he had a very “passionate and sexual” relationship with Jackson, and has kept several messages that the music superstar left for him. “We definitely hit it off the first time we met,” Pfeiffer says , claiming they met in 2008 at the office of Jackson’s famed dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein. Klein is a longtime friend of Jackson’s and, as you may know, is rumored to be the biological father of the singer’s two older children, Prince and Paris. In any case, Dr. Klein backs up Pfeiffer’s account, saying that he knew Jackson and Pfeiffer were together when he once walked in on them shirtless. Jason Pfeiffer: Dr. Arnold Klein’s former office manager . “When you see two people looking at each other you know what’s happening. I was just very happy for both of them,” Arnold Klein said of the discovery. Pfeiffer says he and Jackson connected because of their childhoods. “We were just sitting there and we both started to cry and I got up and went over to him and said it’s going to be okay Michael… We hugged,” he says. “It was kind of then that the hug was a little bit more … It wasn’t until a few months later that it was obvious that Michael had feelings for me as well.” Their friendship soon blossomed into something more, according to Pfeiffer, even though Jackson emphatically denied throughout life that he was gay. “I just assumed that he was probably bisexual,” Pfeiffer says, claiming their relationship lasted until the day Jackson died . “I know we loved each other.” “I know he told me all the time. I believe he was probably my soulmate.” So why come forward now? “Setting the record straight and finally telling the truth, as opposed to hiding in some house … I think he would have approved of that, yes.” As for Klein, he does not believe he betrayed Jackson because he says Jackson never tried to hide his sexuality … even though it appears clear to pretty much everyone that he went to extreme lengths to hide his sexuality. Klein told TMZ, “Was he gay? Yes.” He then went on to say his declaration was not meant to disparage Jackson, but to shoot down rumors that Jackson was a pedophile. Klein says Pfeiffer’s gay affair was the only one he knows of. Pfeiffer adds, “Michael was not ashamed of his sexuality.” Klein and Pfeiffer say they have received numerous “horrible death threats” since their statements became public. Both currently have bodyguards. Michael Jackson and Dr. Arnold Klein .
