Never-before-seen footage of Michael Jackson’s awful Pepsi commercial accident, filmed in L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium on January 27, 1984, has been released. The Us Weekly clip shows one take where the singer’s pyrotechnics exploded as planned – after Michael Jackson descended the stairs and began performing. On the sixth take, fireworks erupted too early, igniting the singer’s head in flames.

By Gil Kaufman Michael Jackson Photo: Al Messerschmidt Archive / Getty Images Celebrity biographer Ian Halperin set out to take down Michael Jackson in his just-released unauthorized look at the late singer’s life, “Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson.” Instead, Halperin said he ended up writing a sympathetic look at a sad world inhabited by the King of Pop, in which he said Jackson was plagued by anorexia, crippling financial problems, a deadly lung disease, a torrid addiction to prescription medication, fears of mortality and, in his final months, a crippling anxiety that he could not pull off the proposed 50-date residency at the O2 arena in London, which would have kicked off Monday.

The details are not confirmed, but reputable sources claim that the late singer’s family would pay Debbie pay her $3-5 million in exchange for Rowe not contesting his mom Katherine Jackson’s guardianship and full custody of Michael’s children.
