In a deeply personal essay for Elle UK, Kesha opens up about her recent stint in rehab and the pressure of Hollywood that helped land her there. “I’ve written songs about partying, but my dirty little secret is that I’m actually incredibly responsible,” the singer writes. “I take my music and career very seriously, and certainly didn’t land in this situation from partying. “But I was cut off from the outside world and I imagined people making up stories at a time when what I really needed was support.” Kesha ( no more dollar sign ) then admits she needed help for an “eating disorder” and explained how such an ailment came to be: “I felt like part of my job was to be as skinny as possible, and to make that happen, I had been abusing my body. I just wasn’t giving it the energy it needed to keep me healthy and strong.” The artist said she couldn’t help but compare her figures to others around her. (And it didn’t help when Dr. Luke reportedly slammed Kesha’s body during a music video shoot.) “The music industry has set unrealistic expectations for what a body is supposed to look like, and I started becoming overly critical of my own body because of that,” she writes. “I felt like people were always lurking, trying to take pictures of me with the intention of putting them up online or printing them in magazines and making me look terrible” Kesha says she became “scared” to walk around in public or even go online. The musician spent two months in rehab. “During that time I began to feel a shift in my mentality and really started to understand my own self-worth. Miley Cyrus has some fresh ink. The singer and a couple friends paid homage to Miley’s late dog, Floyd, over the weekend, etching themselves with a tattoo in his honor. It includes the canine’s face and it reads: “With a little help from my fwends.” The tattoo arrives just a week after Cyrus debuted her latest furry friend addition, Emu . “Never will I replace Floyd, and that’s something I had to take time to understand,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram late last month. “We had a very special memorial service for Floyd, and I felt my angel Floydy give Emu his blessing.” Poor Floyd was killed by a coyote a few months ago, with Cyrus mourning the dog in public for a long time. Lady Gaga’s bizarre fashion sense has earned her plenty of criticism, but a photo the singer posted to Instagram recently is creating even more controversy than Gaga’s own onstage attire: That’s Gaga’s French bulldog, Asia, and while the singer clearly posted the pic as a joke, animal right’s activist groups like PETA are finding the photo anything but funny. “Lady Gaga may choose to decorate herself with elaborate and even uncomfortable outfits, but Asia doesn’t get to make that choice,” said PETA in a statement posted on the organization’s website. “Though it seems clear that Lady Gaga loves Asia, we think Asia – and all dogs – are adorable without the added flair.” Gaga has yet to respond to the criticism, which is not surprising, as we’re sure the Mother Monster’s publicists are working overtime these days: The dog drama is, of course, the second scandal that the singer has been involved with in less than a week. On Thursday, an unreleased version of Gaga’s “Do What U Want” video leaked online.
